Chapter 2772: Chapter 867:

However, the connection between the clone and the original self is different from others; for Zhou Tian’s clone, there is no difference from the original self. Thus, the liberation of the original body was just a matter of restoring the strength of the Time God King for him; other changes did not seem significant to Zhou Tian’s clone.

Even though, under those circumstances, it was possible not to rescue his original self, Zhou Tian still remembered the task of rescuing his original self. Under those circumstances, since the power of the Abyss World had already grown significantly, Zhou Tian was sure to consider rescuing his original self at that time.

But...

Although Zhou Tian at the time hoped to use the power of the Abyss World to rescue his original self, he had to admit that the idea wasn’t flawed, but to truly rescue his original self, relying solely on the current power of the Abyss World, Zhou Tian didn’t believe there was much chance of success for such an action.

Isn’t the Abyss World strong?

Obviously, that’s impossible. Maybe at the beginning, the Abyss World wasn’t strong. Despite the original deep potential of the Abyss World, during its nascent phase, it might have a very promising future due to its good foundation. But regardless of how powerful the Abyss World might become, before this, it truly was nothing more than a lower world.

Of course, under Zhou Tian’s control, the Abyss World had skipped eons of natural development time by continually annexing those low-level worlds. Therefore, while it couldn’t be considered a high-level world now, it was definitely not a weak world either.

If one wanted to confront someone, then fighting enemies within the Abyss World—even if the Space God King were to arrive relying on the strength of the Abyss World—Zhou Tian was confident he could force them to retreat. Such strength, in any world, could never be considered weak.

Unfortunately, although the power of the Abyss World was definitely strong when viewed from any angle, that strength also had to be gauged against the opponent. At that moment, if Zhou Tian were to rely on that power to oppose the Divine Realm, he knew that, even in a fleeting instant, the Abyss World could still be devoured directly by the Divine Realm.

Even though it might still be possible to rescue his original self, no matter how eager Zhou Tian was to rescue his original self, he couldn’t risk the Abyss World on a gamble. Given that the Abyss World’s strength had increased but was still facing difficulties rescuing the original self from the Divine Realm, Zhou Tian had no other choice then.

To continue boosting the Abyss World’s strength, since at that moment, the Abyss World might not be able to resist when facing the Divine Realm, Zhou Tian worked diligently to raise its power to a level capable of confronting the Divine Realm. He believed that as long as he was diligent, based on all aspects, Zhou Tian didn’t think that, with the Abyss World’s foundation, there would ultimately be no ability to rescue a Divine King from the Divine Realm.

But given the situation then, continually annexing those low-level worlds didn’t provide much help to Zhou Tian. Because those low-level worlds didn’t contain much energy, the greatest gain for Zhou Tian was merely the addition of a large number of souls in the Abyss World, finally using those souls as nutrients to slightly enhance the combat power of the demons in the Abyss World.

At that point, continuing to work hard didn’t mean Zhou Tian couldn’t further increase the Abyss World’s strength, but it couldn’t be denied that, with those conditions, relying solely on low-level worlds wasn’t enough to sustain its continued growth.

In order to secure resources for further advancing the Abyss World, Zhou Tian had to set his sights on those middle worlds at that time.

Even though there were no Divine King level beings in the middle worlds, the conditions existed for such powerful beings to grow internally. But because the Divine Realm continuously drained them, often when those worlds began producing beings with some strength, a significant portion would be directly ascended to the Divine Realm.

Inside those worlds, not only was there much more energy than in low-level worlds, but the souls of the living beings were also much more malleable. Thus, annexing one middle world was not comparably beneficial to annexing a hundred low-level worlds.

Still, even though annexing the middle worlds would certainly satisfy Zhou Tian, if Zhou Tian really planned to do that, he had to consider what risks such actions might encounter.

Middle worlds were naturally not comparable to those lower worlds. In fact, if Zhou Tian believed the Abyss World had the capability to annex middle worlds, he would have already initiated corresponding actions. The lack of such action beforehand indicated Zhou Tian had no confidence in taking down a middle world.

With the evolution of the Abyss World slowing down, without some changes, it was impossible to see the rapid progress it once had. Otherwise, Zhou Tian wouldn’t risk having the Abyss World attempt annexing those middle worlds just to gain the power to rescue the original self quickly.

Nonetheless, since Zhou Tian had conceived such an idea and the action might not be entirely without success, under those circumstances, Zhou Tian decisively initiated the action.

Following the same routine as before, nothing worked better than internal sabotage. Given the situation, Zhou Tian believed that seeking trouble with that world wouldn’t yield good results. A middle world, after all, even a reflexive resistant action could pose a threat to Zhou Tian. Therefore, without sufficiently infiltrating them, Zhou Tian didn’t dare enter those middle worlds.

So, before taking action, Zhou Tian naturally continued following the original method by sending a large number of angels to the middle worlds for preaching. Once they established a foothold there, they could slowly erode the rules of that world through their abilities. When the time was ripe, Zhou Tian would forcibly descend with the world consciousness of the Abyss World, annexing those middle worlds regardless of their willingness.

Therefore, given the circumstances, Zhou Tian opened spatial passages using known coordinates of certain middle worlds and dispatched nearly a thousand angels.

And as the angels departed, Zhou Tian busied himself with other matters, and from the surface, it seemed Zhou Tian was no longer concerned with annexing the middle worlds.

But was Zhou Tian really unconcerned?

Such a thing was impossible. Zhou Tian still hoped to continue growing the Abyss World he controlled through annexing those middle worlds. Under those circumstances, how could Zhou Tian possibly not focus on the progress of those angels he sent? But Zhou Tian also clearly understood that whether he was anxious now wouldn’t change anything. Thus, instead of wasting time on this matter, it would be better to contemplate ways to make the Abyss World more perfect.

Zhou Tian’s decision couldn’t be considered wrong from any aspect, but as he relaxed his monitoring of those angels, he soon received reports of the deaths of the angels he had dispatched.

For this, Zhou Tian frowned but ultimately said nothing more. (To be continued. If you enjoyed this work, please visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
