Chapter 574: Chapter 574: He’s Tempting Me to Make a Move

"Spill it. How do you want to settle this privately?" Ye Xiu asked mockingly, looking at the young man.

"Settle privately? Dream on!" the young man sneered and gave the driver a look. They both turned to head back to the Mercedes. He figured that once he left, his family would handle it even if Ye Xiu reported it to the authorities. Since Kristina wasn’t around to see it, he wouldn’t lose face.

"You think you can just hit my car and walk away?" Ye Xiu hurried forward and clamped a hand on the young man’s right shoulder. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

The young man spun around and said coldly, "Kid, don’t push your luck. Piss me off, and you’ll regret it."

SMACK!

Ye Xiu sent the young man sprawling face-first with a single slap. "Cut the crap and pay up!"

The young man lay on the ground, his head buzzing. He wished he could find a hole to crawl into, desperate for Kristina not to see this.

Seeing the young man get struck, the driver immediately invoked his master’s identity. "You—you dare hit the Young Master? Do you know who he is? The Young Master is Sun Shixin, the eldest son of the Sun Family of Yunluo City. How dare you strike him? Do you have a death wish?"

"Sun Shixin?" Ye Xiu was taken aback. "The same Sun Shixin who’s on par with Ye Xuan and Wang Chaoyang? One of Yunluo City’s Four Young Masters?"

"Exactly!" the driver nodded.

Sun Shixin pushed himself up, gritting his teeth. "Kid, you scared now?" As he spoke, he glanced at the black Mercedes, thinking it was a shame Kristina hadn’t gotten out. If she had, she would have seen how terrified this kid was by the name Sun Shixin.

"Scared, my ass!" Ye Xiu slapped Sun Shixin again. Of Yunluo City’s Four Young Masters, Ye Xuan was crippled by me, while Wang Chaoyang had his appendix and a kidney removed by me and has already submitted. Why would I be afraid of you?

Sun Shixin was stunned. He hadn’t expected Ye Xiu to still dare hit him after learning his identity. Could this kid have a powerful background? For a moment, he was relieved that Kristina hadn’t gotten out of the car; otherwise, she would have seen him get slapped!

The driver said arrogantly, "It seems you have quite the background, since you don’t fear the Sun Family. Fine, I’ll tell you something that *will* scare you: The Sun Family is a member of the Mist Chant Martial Meeting’s sponsoring team."

Inside the black Mercedes, Kristina’s expression sharpened. She opened the door and got out, genuinely unaware that Sun Shixin’s family was part of the sponsoring team.

"Since when?" Sun Shixin was utterly baffled; he knew nothing about this.

"Last night!" the driver grinned. "Not only that, but the Sun Family also joined the Global Chamber of Commerce last night."

Sun Shixin grew excited. He jabbed a finger at Ye Xiu’s chest and boasted, "Kid, you dared to strike a member of the sponsoring team. That means you’re making an enemy of the three great Judicator Families. You’re doomed!"

BAM!

Ye Xiu kicked Sun Shixin flat on his back, scoffing, "I don’t give a damn what team or family you’re from. Just pay up."

Both Sun Shixin and the driver were dumbfounded. They realized they’d run into a reckless fool who had absolutely no clue what the sponsoring team or the three great Judicator Families even were. It only then dawned on them that only government officials, the upper echelons of society, and the Ancient Martial Circle knew about the Mist Chant Martial Meeting, its sponsoring team, and the Judicator Families. Ordinary people had no access to such information.

"Young Master, maybe we should just pay him," the driver suggested, truly worried that this reckless punk would keep beating Sun Shixin.

Sun Shixin wanted to agree, but then he noticed Kristina, who had gotten out of the car at some point and was now watching him with a mocking expression. For a moment, his pride and ego prevented him from paying.

He stood up and said coldly, "Call for backup! On my own turf here in Yunluo City, no one has ever dared to hit me. If I don’t cripple him today, then my name isn’t Sun Shixin."

The driver took out his phone, ready to make the call.

Ye Xiu sneered, "I can guarantee that before your backup arrives, I’ll have beaten you two to a pulp."

The driver froze, not daring to make the call.

Sun Shixin was mortified, caught between a rock and a hard place. If he didn’t call for backup, he’d lose face in front of Kristina. If he did, he’d be beaten to a pulp right in front of her. What the hell was he supposed to do?

"Pay him," Kristina said suddenly.

"I’m not afraid of him!" Sun Shixin insisted stubbornly.

"Pay him," Kristina commanded, her tone leaving no room for argument.

"Alright!" Sun Shixin relented. He pulled out his wallet, yanked out a stack of cash, and threw it in Ye Xiu’s face. "Kid," he said coldly, "if I wasn’t worried about keeping my guest waiting, I would have killed you today." He was trying to save face, implying he was only paying out of consideration for Kristina.

SMACK!

Ye Xiu sent him sprawling again. "Pick up the money you dropped."

"Don’t you push it too far!" Sun Shixin roared as he scrambled up.

Ye Xiu raised his hand as if to strike again. "What did you say?"

Sun Shixin deflated. He obediently crouched down and picked up every single bill, feeling utterly humiliated in front of Kristina.

"Pathetic. Trying to act tough when you’ve got nothing to back it up." Ye Xiu took the money, scoffed, then got in his car and drove away.

Feeling an immense sense of shame, Sun Shixin turned to the driver and snarled, "Find him and bring him to me. I want to break his legs myself."

"Rest assured, Young Master!" the driver nodded.

Kristina squinted, her eyes following the departing Range Rover as a chilling smile played on her lips. How interesting...

After getting back in their car, Sun Shixin said to Kristina, "He’s just a simple-minded brute. I’m a civilized man; my intelligence runs circles around his. I’m just not a fighter."

"Your intelligence is no better than his," Kristina said without expression.

Sun Shixin grew anxious. "How can you tell?"

He kept hitting you just to bait me into making a move... Kristina thought to herself but didn’t answer him. Instead, she asked, "Are there any casinos in Yunluo City?"

"You’re into that, too?" Sun Shixin’s eyes lit up. "Of course! I know every casino in Yunluo City, big and small. I’m a regular!"

"Take me to the biggest one," Kristina said.

"Alright, but I’d like to go home first!" Sun Shixin readily agreed.

"Fine."
