Chapter 2472: Chapter 2475: Astonishment (Extra Chapter for ’Jiang Chen’)

"Brother Jiang, are you alright?"

Yun Hai cautiously asked, looking at Jiang Chen with concern in his eyes.

"I’m fine, let’s go in. They’ve entered the Maze Formation."

Jiang Chen gently shook his head, glanced at the maze beside him, and spoke softly, without mentioning what had just happened.

Yun Hai was slightly taken aback, realizing Jiang Chen didn’t want to discuss the previous events. Without saying anything more, he turned around and threw the Jade Token in his hand towards the mountain wall.

Buzz!

The Jade Token hovered in front of the mountain wall, emitting a profound light that projected onto the wall. A wave of spatial fluctuations spread from the wall, and a vortex emitting mysterious vibrations appeared with a shining portal at its center.

"Brother Jiang, is the formation ready?"

Yun Hai turned to look at Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen smiled slightly and nodded gently. His figure moved, and he was the first to rush into the shining portal.

Yan Hu and Yan Li followed closely behind, with Yun Hai entering last. As he went in, he retrieved the floating Jade Token in the air.

Buzz!

After Yun Hai entered, the space in front of the mountain wall shook slightly. The portal and vortex disappeared instantly, and the mountain wall returned to its original state.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

As soon as the mountain wall was restored, figures rushed out from within the Maze Formation.

"What’s going on?!"

Seeing the sword intent that had vanished at the valley entrance, the various adventure groups roaming on the abandoned plains and Pang Tong and others all exclaimed in shock.

"No wonder Yan Li dared to snatch food from the tiger’s mouth, they knew the sword intent here had already dissipated!"

Pang Tong spoke through gritted teeth.

Some other adventurers’ eyes lit up. If the sword intent here was gone, they could explore the valley without fear of being blocked by Necro Spirits.

"Ha-ha, some people thought they could snatch the Necro Sphere by sheer numbers, but now it’s impossible!"

Wang Han sighed in relief, laughed sarcastically, glanced at Pang Tong, and walked towards the valley entrance.

The people from Magic Cloud Fortress followed him.

Everyone was momentarily stunned, showing a look of surprise in their eyes.

Did they just leave like that? Leaving after only hunting a few hundred Necro Spirits?

Soon, everyone reacted, turned to the valley now empty after the Maze Formation dissipated, and a look of understanding flashed in their eyes.

Why stay here? It’s uncertain when the Necro Spirits in the valley will revive.

They glanced around at each other, feeling rather disheartened.

Although not everyone returned with bounties from the Necro Valley hunts, the controls on numbers by major factions usually allowed everyone to obtain a fair amount of Necro Spheres.

And because of this, each Dead Spirit Gathering Point formed an implicit rule.

But this time, most returned empty-handed from the Valley of Undead, with only a few powerful individuals managing to gather dozens of Necro Spheres. Furthermore, the death toll was several times worse than usual.

Ironically, this was the only hunt in the Valley of Undead where no one died at the hands of Necro Spirits; all casualties were due to infighting!

Used to the bountiful yields from hunting in the Valley of Undead, not having any Necro Spheres in hand left everyone a bit unacclimated. But staring at the empty valley, they had no choice but to stifle their frustration.

With the Necro Spirits slain and the Necro Spheres collected, it wasn’t worth confronting Wind Thunder Valley and the Yun Family over this matter. Not to mention whether it was practical or not, few among them dared to offend these two major factions simultaneously.

The adventure groups eyed each other and headed for the valley entrance, each with a hint of glee in their eyes.

Each trip to hunt Necro Spirits sees the most casualties among the adventure groups, but they reap fewer Necro Spheres compared to others. After all, they are just adventurers, without powerful figures to support them, unlike the eight major fortresses that have been established on the abandoned plains for centuries.

Every well-known Dead Spirit Gathering Point on the abandoned plains has spies from the eight fortresses, monitoring the Necro Spirit numbers.

Thus, whenever these Gathering Points held hunts, participants from the eight fortresses were inevitably present. With these powerful fortress representatives, adventurers were reduced to mere accompaniments, exerting as much, if not more effort, but gaining the least.

Now, with the sword intent dissipated, and without the threat of Necro Spirit eruptions, they can hunt in the Valley of Undead anytime, without needing approval from fortress members. After all, the fortresses can’t claim the valley by mere force; doing so would spark widespread anger.

Besides the various fortresses and adventure groups, the abandoned plains are filled with family disciples and sect disciples from different regions. Should they unite, even the eight fortresses would find themselves forced to concede!

So, despite not gaining much, the adventurers were quite happy.

With the adventurers gone, only individuals from Lei Yang Village, Black Water Fortress, and the Yuanling Sect remained in the valley.

"Brother Chen Rui, what do you think about this?"

Pang Tong turned to look at the white-clad Chen Rui.

Previously, at another valley entrance, Pang Tong had secretly paid a sum to win over Chen Rui, and he could see that the five groups subtly regarded Chen Rui as their leader.

He didn’t mind paying a price to kill Yan Li, soldier of Wind Thunder Valley, although with their forces, they could also defeat Yan Li, doing so would mean facing the wrath of Yun Hai alone.

With a protective and overbearing leader, Wind Thunder Valley could very well declare war, making it not worth the risk.

Although Lei Yang Village feared no one, the Saint’s Relic held top priority. Winning over Chen Rui and others from Yuanling Sect and Qing Yun might deter the brutish ones.

Since emerging from the Maze Formation, Chen Rui had been staring at the mountain wall with greed in his eyes.

Upon hearing Pang Tong, he turned to glance at him, pondered for a moment, and softly said, "Since they’re gone, let’s leave too. As for the compensation mentioned by Senior Pang Tong, we are not in a position to accept, farewell!"

With those words, Chen Rui nodded to the others and flashed out of the valley, followed by the sect disciples, leaving Pantong, Lin Jiang, and others alone in a blink.

"Looks like Yan Li gets to benefit this time." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Lin Jiang spoke softly, glanced at Pang Tong, and smirked, "Pang Tong, if we meet in the Central Region, perhaps we can cooperate."
