Chapter 2279: Chapter 2283: Tales of the Void Nether
In the front hall of Qin Chaolan’s cave mansion.
Jiang Chen, Sang Zhenye, Qin Chaolan, and Lin Yuyan sat cross-legged, while Chen Jingxuan went to find someone to repair the platform in front of the cave mansion, as this kind of work certainly couldn’t be done by Qin Chaolan, a Unity Realm Stage elder.
"Teacher, what you mentioned earlier about other academies is..."
Jiang Chen asked again.
"What? Do you think the entire Canglan Continent only has the Six Great Academies and their branches? Not just Canglan Continent, but all of the Five Continents have numerous academies, too many to count."
Sang Zhenye chuckled.
"Huh? How can there be so many academies?!"
Jiang Chen was taken aback and exclaimed in surprise.
Establishing an academy is not an easy task, and founding one doesn’t yield much benefit. If the students have a conscience, it’s slightly better, as they might help when the academy is in trouble. However, if they are ungrateful, they might not even acknowledge being alumni of the academy after leaving, making the teaching in vain.
Therefore, Jiang Chen was somewhat puzzled as to why so many people would engage in such a thankless task.
"To explain this issue, we probably need to start with the sudden appearance of a space rift and a group of peak powerhouses on the Origin Continent back then..."
From Sang Zhenye’s narrative, Jiang Chen learned about some epoch-making events in the Void Nether world and gained a clearer understanding of this world.
The original inhabitants of the Void Nether world lived on the Origin Continent, while Canglan Continent, Donghuang Continent, Xiwu Continent, and Beihan Continent were the domain of mythical beasts back then.
Later, a massive shock occurred in the Void Nether world, leading to several enormous space rifts, from which powerful extraterritorial alien races poured out.
These alien races began killing on sight, attempting to seize control of the Void Nether world!
The cultivators of the Void Nether world rose up to resist but were unable to fend off the peak experts among the extraterritorial alien races and had to retreat repeatedly until all cultivators and mythical beasts withdrew to the central region of the Origin Continent.
Just as the extraterritorial alien races aimed for total annihilation and the cultivators of the Void Nether world were filled with despair, the sky above the central region split open, and over a hundred Supreme powerhouses emerged, led by an all-white Divine Dragon.
These over a hundred Supreme powerhouses immediately charged at the extraterritorial alien races, shattering their attempt to breach the central region. From then on, these Supreme powerhouses led the cultivators of the Void Nether world in a counterattack, gradually driving the extraterritorial alien races out of the Void Nether world.
This process took tens of thousands of years!
When the extraterritorial alien races realized they couldn’t seize the Void Nether world, they launched a terrifying attack, a blood sacrifice using the lives of their leader and many Saints.
This blood sacrifice attack targeted not any individual but the entire Void Nether world, as they sought to destroy it!
At this moment, the white Divine Dragon stepped forward, using supremely powerful means to divert the attack elsewhere, at the cost of its own life!
After this, the Void Nether world entered a period of recovery and recuperation, and over a hundred Supreme powerhouses brought their clans from another space to join them in defending the Void Nether world.
The over a hundred Supreme powerhouses divided the responsibilities among themselves: the Dragon Clan, experts in the Spatial Path, were tasked with repairing space, while other Supreme powerhouses established the other four continents, leading the cultivators of the Void Nether world to construct towns suitable for human habitation.
Some mythical beasts that remained on the Four Great Continents were also spared, as they were still a race within the Void Nether world. The over a hundred Supreme powerhouses didn’t aim for their total annihilation but instead set some restrictions and designated areas suitable for mythical beasts on each continent to prevent them from roaming freely and harming humans.
When most parts of the Five Continents were developed into environments suitable for human habitation, the original inhabitants of the Void Nether world were grateful to the over a hundred Supreme powerhouses. As none among them had the strength to unite the populace, they proposed that these hundred Supreme powerhouses select leaders to govern the Five Continents.
The over a hundred Supreme powerhouses didn’t decline and chose five individuals, originally recognized leaders in their world, to command the Five Continents. However, the differing personalities of the five Supremes gradually led to variations in the styles of the Five Continents.
As the Void Nether world was stabilizing, the Ancestral Dragon approached the Supreme powerhouses with two worrisome matters.
The first was that some of the space rifts in the Void Nether world couldn’t be repaired and could only be sealed.
The second matter was that the blood sacrifice power, which the white Divine Dragon had deflected at the cost of its life, formed a massive space black hole after exploding outside the Void Nether world.
This space black hole attracted nearby stars, all gathering around it. Once the black hole disappeared, it turned into a continent, which was connected to the unrepaired space rifts of the Void Nether world.
When the Supreme powerhouses went to investigate, the continent was already occupied by extraterritorial alien races, who intended to use it as a springboard to attack the Void Nether world.
Over a hundred Supreme powerhouses once again engaged in battle with the extraterritorial alien races, but this time, the aliens came fully prepared. Even though all capable Void Nether world powerhouses joined the battle, they couldn’t expel the aliens from that continent.
After consecutive battles, both the extraterritorial alien races and the Void Nether world suffered heavy losses. Eventually, the entire continent was shattered, and the force of the black hole re-emerged, splitting the continent into several different spaces.
Within these spaces, there were unique rules that even the Supreme powerhouses had to follow. These rules were formed by the black hole’s power, which was the most mysterious. After investigating, the Supremes found that the black hole’s power was a level above their own, and none of them could control it!
Helplessly, the experts from both sides began exploring these spaces’ rules and, after understanding them, felt even more helpless.
The rules within these spaces were simple—they limited levels of power!
The spaces were divided into four major areas: Void Refinement Realm space, Unity Realm space, Saint space, and Supreme space.
In these four spaces, individuals with power lower than the space’s limit could appear, but no cultivator exceeding the space’s limit could enter; otherwise, even a Supreme powerhouse would be obliterated by the power of the black hole.
