Chapter 319: Chapter 114: Bai Xi vs. Song Chi (Part 3)
"I don’t know either." Cheng Xizhou remembered something, leaned towards Bai Xi, sat on the same sofa with her, and curiously asked, "How did you survive back then?"
Bai Xi said, "I was pretty lucky. That day was the day new supplies arrived, and I went down the mountain with the logistics team to inventory the supplies, just happened to avoid a disaster."
"Maybe Teacher Xu’s friend is someone you know. Do you want to stay and see?"
Bai Xi shook her head, speaking sincerely, "After a blind person regains sight, the first thing they do is to discard the crutch that has accompanied them for years. What we did at Rashomon wasn’t all upright and honest. Now that we see the light of day again, everyone has a normal life, who would want to deal with the past?"
Cheng Xizhou also felt Bai Xi’s reasoning was right.
"Alright, let’s focus on work. Once we finish filming this movie, I’ll take you on a trip abroad. Haven’t you been wanting to see the aurora in the Arctic? We’ll go see it while summer hasn’t ended."
Upon hearing this, Bai Xi seemed a bit expectant, "Really?"
"If I’m lying, I’m a puppy."
"Great!"
After breakfast, the crew unanimously went out to sea, staying on the island to film all day until they wrapped up and returned to the city at dawn.
The boat docked, Bai Xi carrying several bags, walked off the boat following Cheng Xizhou.
The moment they reached the hotel across the street, they saw, by the road near the hotel’s fountain, a tall young man in a black thin sweatshirt.
He was wearing a fisherman’s hat, work pants, and flat sneakers, holding a large carry-on luggage bag in his left hand and clutching a bottle of drunk mineral water in his right.
Even though his attire was ordinary and his gestures grounded, just standing under the streetlight captured the gaze of passersby.
Cheng Xizhou’s steps slightly halted as he looked at the young man with the mineral water bottle, casually remarking, "Look, that handsome guy has an aura."
Bai Xi followed behind Cheng Xizhou, and upon hearing this, stood on tiptoe, tilted her head past Cheng Xizhou’s shoulder, and looked across the street at the young man.
After a moment of doubt, Bai Xi said, "Is he a homeless person?"
One can’t blame Bai Xi for suspecting the young man was homeless.
Because what he wore was all street vendor stuff, with no fabric texture to speak of. The luggage bag in his left hand was a market 15 yuan blue-and-white striped nylon bag, stuffed full, resembling a homeless person carrying a tattered quilt and clothes.
And the mineral water he held in his hand was missing the label design for some reason, looking like trash picked from a garbage can.
If Bai Xi hadn’t mentioned it, Cheng Xizhou wouldn’t have thought so; but when Bai Xi pointed it out, Cheng Xizhou also started to see the man as a homeless person.
Yet, even if the person is homeless, he’s still a strikingly handsome person.
As the two discussed whether he was a homeless person, the young man suddenly raised his head, revealing the face covered by his fisherman hat.
As casual as his attire was, his facial features were that meticulous.
The deep, enchanting eyes and those two intimidating sword-like eyebrows were exceptionally striking.
Some people’s looks were lazily tossed by Nuwa, but his appearance was definitely sculpted painstakingly with a carving knife by Nuwa.
Taking a deep breath, Cheng Xizhou quietly swore, "Damn, my destined lover, he’s finally appeared." Cheng Xizhou’s ideal partner was indeed like the person before them.
Appearing carefree and unrestrained, yet must be exquisitely beautiful.
Bai Xi frowned slightly, not commenting on his looks but changed her stance, saying, "Probably not a homeless person." Such a person, if homeless, would have been picked up by a rich woman and secretly kept in a golden house.
Suddenly, the man looked in their direction, his enchanting, deep eyes brightening suddenly.
Cheng Xizhou said, "He’s dazzled by my beauty."
Bai Xi nodded, "Yes."
The man suddenly strode towards them.
Cheng Xizhou abruptly grabbed Bai Xi’s hand, nervously saying, "Could he be my fan? Xixi, is my makeup still perfect? Do I have my pen for autographs in my bag?"
Bai Xi was just about to look in her bag for the autograph pen when she noticed the handsome young man walking past them without glancing sideways.
The young man strode hastily to their behind, calling out in a low voice, "Boss."
Cheng Xizhou’s smile stiffened slightly.
She was being overly sentimental.
Bai Xi and Cheng Xizhou simultaneously turned around and saw the young man stopping in front of Xingguang.
"Have you been here long?" Xingguang asked Song Chi.
