Chapter 50 -50: Their Suspicions About the Ancestor
Duan Jianchuan glanced at Wen Zishu and said coldly, “That’s really something new, Wen Zishu, a playboy like you, feeling that others are absurd?”
Wen Zishu: “…”
“Damn!” His face flushed with embarrassment as he glared fiercely at Duan Jianchuan. “You bastard, if you can’t speak nicely, can’t you just shut up?!”
Duan Jianchuan’s indifferent face: “Isn’t what I said the truth?”
Wen Zishu gritted his teeth, wishing he could scratch Duan Jianchuan’s face.
But how could he dare to lay hands on Duan Jianchuan?
...
He was just a rich heir, while Duan Jianchuan had truly fought and struggled up the ranks in the military.
Wen Zishu could only look pitifully at Fu Shiyan, dragging out his words, “Big Brother, look at Old Duan, he’s such a jerk, you have to help me…”
Hearing that strange tone, Fu Shiyan stepped back and said seriously, “Sorry, I’m not into that sort of thing.”
Wen Zishu was stunned and didn’t understand, “Wha, what do you mean…”
“I don’t fancy men,” Fu Shiyan said. “Weren’t you just whining at me? If that’s your preference, I can introduce someone to you.”
Wen Zishu’s face turned red with anger. “Big Brother, you’re teasing me too! I don’t fancy men; I fancy girls, especially those with a big chest and a slim waist!”
“Oh,” said Fu Shiyan in a faint tone. “If it weren’t for that, you probably wouldn’t have run into today’s situation.”
Duan Jianchuan agreed, “I advise you to change your ways in the future.”
“You two are ganging up against me!” Wen Zishu was so angry that he hopped from foot to foot, nearly crying in front of them!
Fu Shiyan chuckled softly and turned to walk out of the police station.
Duan Jianchuan’s tone was much lighter now as he hooked his arm around Wen Zishu’s shoulder, “Let’s go.”
Wen Zishu followed them, huffing with indignation. In fact, this was normal; he knew the others were just teasing him and didn’t take it to heart.

When he got into the car, Wen Zishu had calmed down, “By the way.”
He remembered something and turned to Fu Shiyan, “Big Brother, have you ever felt that the little sister, the Abbot from Jiaoyang Temple, is very strange?”
Duan Jianchuan, who was driving in front, replied coolly, “What, have you taken a fancy to that girl?”
“Get lost!”
Wen Zishu kicked the back of his seat and said earnestly, “I just find her really odd. Think about it, she’s really good at fortune-telling; whatever she says comes true! But when she’s not telling fortunes, she seems so silly, as if she’s not from our world, like an old relic that knows nothing. Yet she’s so capable. Don’t you find this incongruent?”
“Not really,” said Fu Shiyan with his eyes closed, taking a brief rest.
Duan Jianchuan echoed, “Not really.”
Wen Zishu widened his eyes, “Seriously, you two don’t think she’s strange?”
“What’s strange about it?” Duan Jianchuan glanced at him through the rearview mirror. “Didn’t they say, she’s a young girl who used to spend years in seclusion on a mountain? The fact that she knows so much at such a young age is proof enough of where her focus was. Is that hard to comprehend?”
Wen Zishu still felt something was off, “What kind of mountain doesn’t have something like internet nowadays? And she doesn’t even understand cell phones. Don’t people in the mountains communicate with the outside world?”
“Oh.”
Duan Jianchuan said expressionlessly, “Sorry, I was on a mission three years ago, and I spent a year in the mountains without internet, and we had everything we needed there, so there was no need to communicate with the outside world.”
Wen Zishu: “………you…”
“Forgive me for making Wen Dashao laugh, but when I came out of the mountains after a year, I was a bit out of touch with the times,” said Duan Jianchuan, his voice flat and emotionless.
Wen Zishu was left speechless.
