Chapter 572: Cometh The Hour
(Author’s POV)
"What is the meaning of this, Elisa? Why are my mom and dad here?" Myra shouted at the top of her lungs. "LET GO OF THEM, RIGHT THIS INSTANT~ .... LET THEM GO, otherwise~ ...." Her eyes blazingly bloodshot, seething with raw rage, as she grabbed Elisa’s extended hand in an iron grip.
Elisa cut her off, half chuckling, full scoffing at her face, "Otherwise?? Otherwise, what, stupid human~ .... are you going to try and kill me again, huhh? Hahh~ ..." She jerked Myra’s hand away and dared her, her eyes full of confident menace, "Try it, try it all you want, imbecile human. Just try your luck and see what happens next." She arched her right brow and folded her hands, adding, her voice chilling, "You won’t like the consequences of touching me again."
Terrified, Myra looked at her parents and called for them, her tone filled with desperation, "MO~M~ .... D~AD~ ...." But they remained motionless, though their eyes were wide open. She glared at Aamon and Elisa and barked, "What did you do to them? Why are they not responding?"
"I didn’t do anything to them. They are here to settle their debts," Elisa walked towards Sandra and William and continued, "They are merely under Aamon’s spell, sleeping."
"Debts? What debts? Cut the crap. Why will my parents be indebted to someone like you~ ....?" Myra questioned spitefully.
Elisa, blowing at her nails, remarked, "What else? For saving their daughter’s life from that ghastly assault. They both said it with their own mouths that they were grateful I saved you in time and were indebted to me. Now~ ... they are just going to pay the price for making such a statement to a demon queen. That’s why they say~ ... think twice before you say anything." She smirked.
Myra blinked rapidly, recalling William saying something similar. But then her brows knitted together as she remembered the phone call with Wendy. Her sister had told her that William and Sandra were already at home waiting for her and Yelena. So, she queried, "Indebted? Asleep? Or are you just making all these things up? They can just be one of your illusions. Your tricks to trap me. To make me agree. Huhh??"
"Haha HahaHAHAa~~~~ .... so, you think they are some dummies, we prepared?" Aamon questioned, then laughed. "What do you take me for? I don’t do fakes~ ..." He paused, "Let me show you whether they are real or not~~~ ...." He gestured with a slight nod, and the next second, his minions took out black, lathered whips from nowhere and hit William and Sandra simultaneously.
The sound of the strikes rang in the air. The hits were ruthless and unrestrained as both of them hissed and groaned. Sandra even fell to the floor, as blood started gushing out from her back, but she didn’t fight back and remained under the spell.
Myra trembled unconsciously, shaking, as she noticed the locket hanging from her mother’s neck. The one William gave her, the one she had never taken off, the one she always cherished the most. It was supposedly William’s family heirloom, which he took with him when they eloped.
As realization dawned on her with the speed of a lightning bolt, Myra roared in pure agony and ran towards them, "STOOOOOPPPPPPPPPP~~~~~~~~ ..." But Aamon’s men didn’t even acknowledge her and continued whipping them without any mercy.
Myra threw herself in front of them as the next hit landed straight on her, piercing her stomach and chest diagonally. She was already weak from that barraging kick, and now the lashing made her spit even more blood, but she still stood rooted, hugged her parents even more tightly, shielding them with all her might.
Aamon, after another two lashes, waved his hand, and the men immediately halted their actions and stood aside. Myra looked at them with red, angry, teary eyes, crimson liquid dripping from her mouth.
"So~ ... now that you can see they are real~ .... what’s it going to be? Are you going to agree or~ ... should I drain the people who raised you, dry?" Elisa asked cockily, although she already knew her answer.
Myra clenched her fists, her not so sharp nails dug in her palms as she bit her swollen lower lip, "They are injured. Let them go first~ ...."
"Uh-ah~ ... nopes. Not happening, until you give a clear answer," Elisa replied. "Say it with your own mouth."
Myra hissed with pain; her insides were burning. She glanced at her senseless parents, then back at the two vicious beasts in front of her and said, "I agree to give you my blood, but only when both my parents are safe and sound."
Elisa’s eyes glinted as Aamon bit his finger with his sharp fangs and fed William and Sandra, his blue blood. The next moment, just like before, their wounds started to disappear, and their laboured breathing became even.
Myra sighed in relief. She knew what was coming next. So, she hugged William and then Sandra and murmured right next to their ears, "Mom, Dad, thank you for adopting me, for taking care of me all these years. I have always been grateful to you both. You two and Wendy mean the world to me." Her voice turned heavy as a lump settled in her throat, "When I am gone~ ... please take care of yourselves and don’t grieve too much for me. It will make me feel sad." She sniffled, trying to hold back her tears, as a broken whisper came out of her mouth, "I love you~ .... Be happy, always."
Elisa clapped dramatically, commenting, "What a tremendous display of filial piety. My, my~ .... you just made me cry." She wiped off her fake tears. Then her voice shifted in a business like tone, "But~ ... enough of all this. Time is running. Now that you have agreed, we need to start the proceedings~ .... Aamon~ .... I don’t want her precious blood to go to waste. Fix her," she commanded.
Aamon obliged and shoved his thumb into Myra’s mouth. She didn’t protest, didn’t fight back, knowing it was all pointless. This was her end, and she just wanted her loved ones to be free and safe, that’s all.
Her injuries healed as the minions let go of her parents’ side and grabbed her, tying her with silver, spell binding chains. Elisa looked at the moon and remarked, "Cometh the hour~ .... Now it’s the men that needs to come."
