Chapter 556: Save Him .... Save My Child
(Author’s POV)
’Something has happened at the mansion. You both need to come fast,’ Brave’s urgent voice echoed inside their heads.
"WHAT?? What did you just say? I’m coming~ ... right now," Iris’s voice erupted next. Before she could ask more, the call disconnected abruptly, leaving her brimming with anxiety. She tried again, but for some reason it didn’t connect. She then turned towards the Lycan brothers and said, "Young Alphas, I need to go back to the Larson estate."
"We are going back too; we will take you," Elio answered. Alaric then looked at Shade and instructed, "Stay here and keep an eye on him. Update me if anything happens." He then switched to mind link, ’Also~ .... bring that human, Oliver Grey, by his side and inform the Yates family members.’
’Yes, young Alpha,’ Shade replied as the three of them made their way back.
As soon as they hit the road, Elio asked, "Hector Healer, you sounded frantic? Whose call was it? What did they say? What happened?"
"I don’t know the details; Gunnar just said that there has been an accident at the clan leaders’ meet up," she told them, her brows creased as she glanced at the passing scenery with nervousness, her palms sweating as she clasped them tight.
Alaric barreled, flooring the car as they soon reached the mansion. Without wasting even a fraction of a second, Iris sprinted inside, one of her slippers still in the car. Elio followed, his pace matching hers. As soon as they entered the living room, the stench of something metallic hit both of them. It was blood.
Then they spotted Gunnar, pacing towards them, his eyes reddened. Iris swallowed; her throat tightened, and the pit in her stomach knotted as well.
"Healer Hector~ ... where were you? We have been searching for you~ .... No, there is no time. The young mas~ter~ .... the young master he is~ ..." Gunnar’s voice was loud yet strained. He was all over the place.
"WHAT HAPPENED TO THE YOUNG MASTER?" Iris immediately questioned, her eyes widening as she grabbed Gunnar’s sleeve, crumpling it.
"He~ ... he tried to protect his majesty~ ... and was stabbed by a wooden stake. The infirmary doctor is treating him but~ ...." Gunnar revealed, his voice shaking, and so was he. They both rushed towards the room. Elio, who was standing, frowned. ’Young master? Who is this young master they are talking about?’ Leo remarked, equally confused. ’I don’t know. Let’s see,’ Elio replied.
Alaric walked inside as a sharp, ear piercing, strident, unfamiliar voice rumpled the surroundings, "LET GO OF ME, YOU LUNATICS, YOU BEAST. ARGHHHHH~~~~~ I didn’t do it. I said, I didn’t do it. HIS MAJESTY, YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE ME. I didn’t do it."
"What do you mean you didn’t? Everyone saw you aiming the stake towards the vampire king. Now you are denying it," Dion’s voice came next, cold and detached, nearly ruthless.
Instead of going to the room, Alaric and Elio made their way towards the source of the voices.
"SHUT THE FUCK UPPPP~~~~ ... you filthy werewolf. Who the hell are you to question me? Get your hands off me," Shaun shouted, clearly aggravated. He was pinned to the floor. One of the commandos from the keeper’s unit was holding onto his neck in a vice like grip.
Brave kicked him in the gut and fired back, "Don’t you fucking dare to speak like that to my brother, you regicide. The vampire king himself gave us the authority to question not just you but everyone. Got it." He bent down and lifted Shaun’s chin and mumbled, his tone cool yet authoritative, "Now~ ... tell us. Who put you up to this? How did you manage to sneak in a wooden stake? Who is behind you? Tell me~ .... Tell me and I will make your death easier~ ... otherwise~ ...." He left his words incomplete. The glint in his eyes was more than enough to convey his message.
"I said I didn’t do it," Shaun denied through gritted teeth as blood trickled down his mouth.
"So, you won’t tell. Fine~ ... let’s see how long you will keep up this act," Dion glanced at the commando who, at once, picked Shaun up like a ragged doll and chained him to a wooden board.
"Wh~ ... what are you doing? No~ ... no~ .... you cannot, you cannot do this to me. I am the clan leader of Blood Lunar Clan. I said let gooooooooo~~~~ ...." Shaun was screaming at the top of his lungs.
Brave sensed Alaric and Elio’s presence and turned around to glance at them. Then he shifted his attention back to Shaun, "Very well then~ ...." He gave him a chilling, vicious smirk. "Should we start the real interrogation now~~~~~ ...."
The next second, the Blood Lunar Clan leader’s eyes bulged with pure horror, his face went pale with dread. The commando from the keeper’s unit was holding a sledgehammer and tiny wooden and iron nails. "NOO~~~ NOO~~~~ NOOOOOOO~~~~~~ AAaAAAAaaaaaa AAAaaaaAAaAAAAAAAA~~~~~~ ..."
His blood curdling, deafening cries reverberated, rattling the entire mansion.

"Your majesty, Healer Hector is here," Gunnar announced as everyone looked at her.
"Iris~ ...." Jacob called her name, "Save him." There was a tremor in his voice. Iris’s eyes landed on the lying Fabian, as she let out a sharp and stunned gasp. She made his way to him.
Fabian’s deathly pale, cadaverous face was a stark contrast to the crimson painted all over his chest. The six inch stake was driven half inside his chest. The doctor explained his current condition to her.
She turned to Jacob and said, "Your majesty, we need to perform surgery right now. Though the stake has stuck the young master’s chest deeply, it is stopping the flow of the sudden blood rush. If we don’t proceed with caution, he might suffer a brain hemorrhage due to excessive blood loss. That will put his life in danger even more."
Jacob clenched his hands tightly, his knuckles turning white. "Do it then. Do everything it takes. But save him~ .... save my child, my Fabian." He was almost pleading. None of the people present in the room had ever seen Jacob like this.
Iris pursed her lips and gulped down. She then answered, "I will do my best."
