Su Nian’s expression was placid. Without even glancing at her, she said, "Because you were the ringleader. And you’re the one she hates the most."
Seeing Su Nian’s nonchalant demeanor, An Ruxue truly became furious.
"Aren’t you a Daoist? Aren’t you supposed to exorcise demons like this? She—she used black magic to harm me, and you’re not going to do anything about it?"

It was the first time An Ruxue had ever heard someone say something like that. Her eyes widened, and her usually hideous expression went slack with disbelief, looking almost comically blank. "You... you’re supposed to be a good person, aren’t you? Good people are supposed to save me!"
At these words, Su Nian turned her head away, not even wanting to look at her.
"Save you? I’m afraid your foul luck might rub off on me."
