Chapter 282: Chapter 283: Breaking a Stone Bare-Handed
[Doesn’t anyone else feel like this place is really ominous the moment you walk in?]
[Yeah, exactly. I’m not trying to be weird, but personally, it feels like we’re walking into a haunted house. It just gives off a really bad vibe.]
[It IS a haunted house! I’d bet my life on it! I work in real estate, so I have a ton of experience with this. Look, the moment you walk in, it’s dim and gloomy, and it even has this palpable Dark Aura.]
[Usually, only places where someone has died feel like this!]
[I don’t think you can be so sure. It’s not like houses where people have died are rare these days.]
[Right? Especially in a house this old. Someone has definitely died in here at some point.]
The real estate agent in the comments wasn’t having it and retorted.
[But this house is definitely a murder house. Someone died a horrible death in here!]
[I’m not just making this up. Look at that potted plant—it looks so eerie and full of ghost energy. A normal plant wouldn’t look like that. Besides, the house’s orientation seems pretty good, so it should be getting plenty of sunlight.]
[But don’t you all feel that strange, heavy feeling in the air? And what about that room over there? Why is the door locked so tight? There even look like a few drops of red liquid in front of it. If I’m not mistaken, those are probably bloodstains.]
Just as the viewers’ discussion in the live comments was heating up, the door with the bloodstains suddenly swung open.
A haggard-looking man walked out.
The man’s face was deathly pale, his hair streaked with gray. He looked ancient, his face covered in deep wrinkles.
He inexplicably gave off an eerie feeling, a mix of ghost energy and malice.
The moment the man saw the boy, his eyes widened in a glare. "Why are you back again, you damn kid!" he snarled.
But when his gaze shifted to Su Nian, his face instantly broke into a wide grin. Like a common hoodlum, he even let out a whistle, his smiling eyes raking over her body.
"Well now, where did this pretty little thing come from? What brings you here to see me?"
The blatant disrespect in his sleazy tone earned him another round of fire from the viewers.
[Just looking at him makes me sick.]
[And seriously, doesn’t he just look terrifying?]
[The boy looks nothing like him. I bet he found out his wife was cheating and killed her.]
[Why are all you men the same? What proof is there that his wife cheated?]
[What other reason could there be? Why would a man just kill a woman out of the blue? She must have done something wrong.]
Su Nian paid no mind to the comments online. Her cold eyes remained on the man, but her gaze slowly drifted to his back.
Through Su Nian’s eyes, a woman was currently being carried on the man’s back.
She was weighing him down so much that his spine was bent, unable to straighten. The woman’s deathly pale hands were draped over his shoulders, and a pair of blood-red eyes peeked out from behind them.
At that moment, the ghost was quietly raising its head to look at Su Nian. ’No wonder the stench of blood is so overwhelming,’ she thought. ’He really is carrying a vengeful ghost on his back.’
The little boy timidly glanced up at him before quickly lowering his head again. "Dad," he explained, "I found this lady to help. Mom said she’s a very powerful Master. I think she can definitely help you pull Mom off your back."
But as soon as the man heard his son’s words, he flew into a rage.
"Your mom isn’t on my back! What nonsense are you talking about? You damn kid! I-I’ve told you a hundred times, your mother ran off! She abandoned you!"
The little boy couldn’t understand. He scratched his head in confusion. "Where did Mom run to? Why would she run away?"
[Look at that man’s face! That guilty expression is a dead giveaway. He’s practically screaming that he killed his wife, isn’t he?]
[And did you guys notice? His back is so hunched over, like he’s carrying something really heavy! It’s almost like he has a person on his back.]
The boy looked at Su Nian, confused.
The man turned to face Su Nian, his lecherous gaze fixed on her, practically drooling.
Su Nian watched him, her eyes narrowed. ’What would be a fitting death for such a fat, ugly man?’
Sensing the scrutiny in Su Nian’s gaze, the man couldn’t help but have second thoughts.
’Why would a beautiful, well-dressed woman like her ever be interested in me? What is she really doing here?’
Su Nian scanned the room, her gaze finally landing on the area behind the sofa. Through her eyes, she could see a faint aura of blood lingering there.
’The woman must have died right there.’ Su Nian walked straight over and shoved the sofa aside. Sure enough, on the section of wall it had concealed, she found several crimson stains.
Seeing this, the man began to panic. He instinctively moved to grab Su Nian.
Though clearly panicked, he feigned composure, his voice growing even louder. "What the hell do you think you’re doing, lady? Barging in here and shoving my sofa around! This is my house! What’s your problem? Believe me, I’ll call the police on you!"
But Su Nian just gave him a long, hard look before placing a hand on the coffee table.
’He and his wife had bought this coffee table right after they got married. It was supposedly made of some kind of hard stone—cheap but sturdy.’
’Over the years, he’d used his wife’s head to test its sturdiness many times. The table was, indeed, very hard.’
’After being slammed with a human head so many times, it didn’t have a single crack.’ But now, Su Nian was only pressing lightly on it.
With a flex of her hand, a corner of the table crumbled off. Expressionless, Su Nian picked up the small piece and slowly closed her fist around it.
She applied a bit of pressure, and dust—the remains of the stone—drifted from between her fingers.
[Holy crap, the host is a powerhouse!]
[Judging by that guy’s face, that was real!]
[I recognize that table—I think it’s marble, isn’t it? It’s so hard, and the host just crushed it with her bare hands!?]
[It looked like she was crushing a block of tofu!]
The display didn’t just stun the man; even the little boy’s mouth hung open as he stared at Su Nian in utter shock.
Noticing the man’s hand was still grabbing her, Su Nian offered a faint smile. With another slight flex of her other hand, she effortlessly broke off another corner of the table.
The man looked from Su Nian’s face—confirming that she was, in fact, a delicate beauty—to the now-chipped coffee table, his expression a mess of confusion.
He instinctively let go, but Su Nian had already taken the new piece of stone and smashed it forcefully against his arm.
Su Nian’s attacks were always fast, precise, and ruthless. In just three seconds, she had smashed his hand open.
