Chapter 282: Chapter 195: Snow Prison Arena

It even concealed the clothes she was wearing.

The thin layer of frost and snow continuously gathered and compressed. Its appearance alone suggested astonishing defensive power. After all, Rong Taotao possessed the Iron Snow Forearm himself, so he knew exactly how tough the Frost Snow Arm Armor was.

In less than two seconds, Gao Lingwei had turned into a Snowman—well... a slender, beautifully curved Snowman.

After all, the clothes she was wearing had been loose-fitting, but once the Frost Snow Armor compressed them, it revealed the pure lines of her figure.

"It really looks like a suit of armor," Rong Taotao said, blinking. "And it even has snowflake patterns?"

Gao Lingwei lowered her head to look at the armor covering her entire body and nodded gently.

The patterns on this so-called Frost Snow Armor were surprisingly intricate. Hexagonal snowflake imprints of all sizes were scattered across it in a tasteful arrangement.

And just as she lowered her head, layers of frost and snow pieced themselves together on her neck, spreading rapidly to cover her facial features.

Finally, the frost and snow enveloped her head. Her long, loose hair was pressed flat, clinging to her neck, spine, and shoulders.

Rong Taotao wore a strange expression. "So white!"

The snowy silhouette before him raised a hand and gently flicked him on the forehead.

SNAP.

Clutching his forehead, Rong Taotao said, "How can you see? Your whole face is covered!"

The frost and snow over the Snowman’s eyes swirled aside, revealing her beautiful eyes.

Gao Lingwei said, "It’s amazing."

Rong Taotao was startled!

Her face, except for her eyes, was pure frost and snow. The outline of her lips looked like it was just for show; Rong Taotao had assumed her mouth was sealed shut, but she could actually open it.

"As expected of a full-body defensive Soul Skill. It really covers everything," Rong Taotao said, clicking his tongue in amazement.

Gao Lingwei nodded in agreement. Her suit of frost and snow shattered, covering the floor.

The sight that followed, however, made them unsure whether to laugh or cry.

The woolen sweater she had been wearing was fairly loose, but after being compressed by the frost and snow, it was a crumpled, shapeless mess. Her jeans fared a bit better, since they were already skin-tight.

Gao Lingwei smoothed out her wrinkled sweater as she walked to the bathroom, grabbing a broom to come out and sweep up the snow.

Rong Taotao said, "This Soul Skill should be like my Iron Snow Forearm—the size is adjustable. You’re just inexperienced since it’s your first time. Next time, just make the armor a bit bigger and you’ll be fine."

"Mhm."

Rong Taotao said, "You should absorb this one, too."

Rong Taotao held out another Soul Pearl. It looked like a small snowball with tiny ice shards embedded in it.

Gao Lingwei: "Hm?"

Rong Taotao explained, "You know my brother and I have to use the same type of Soul Pearl. We can’t just change it. At critical moments, it’s how we pass information and save our lives. Besides, I’m the one who has to give you commands in your head. You’re different. For you, a skill like communicating mentally isn’t a huge benefit to the team. The stronger you are, the further we can go. It’s just that..."

Gao Lingwei: "It’s just that... what?"

Rong Taotao grimaced. "My sister-in-law said it’s a double-edged sword of a Soul Skill. I know your personality. I’m genuinely afraid you’re going to challenge every single person you meet to a duel..."

Gao Lingwei was silent.

Gao Lingwei swept the snow into a dustpan and walked towards the bathroom, her mind racing.

’If I look at it from that angle...’

’Look who’s talking.’

’You’re worried I’ll challenge everyone I see, but am I not worried you’ll do the exact same thing?’

’Thinking back to the previous promotion match, she had dragged Bai Xiweng out of bounds, getting them both disqualified. But Rong Taotao, he had been injured even more severely, yet he stayed inside the arena and legitimately knocked Bai Xiwu unconscious...’

There was a comment about the two of them online. It sounded like an insult, but it was spot-on: two psychos!

"I’ll take it," Gao Lingwei said, walking back. She took the small, ice-flecked snowball. "I’ll just follow your orders."

Rong Taotao looked at her suspiciously. "We have a deal, then. You *have* to listen to my commands."

The corners of Gao Lingwei’s mouth turned up. She glanced at Rong Taotao and said softly, "On the battlefield."

Rong Taotao grinned. "You’re so uncompromising. What would be so bad about listening to me in daily life, too?"

"Greedy," Gao Lingwei said as she walked toward the hospital room door. Her voice drifted back, "Coach Si said I already spoil you enough as it is."

Rong Taotao watched her silhouette disappear through the door and couldn’t help but pout.

A few seconds later, a powerful wave of Spiritual Power radiated outward, making Rong Taotao’s head buzz.

Gao Lingwei blasted the pearl.

Although a Soul Skill from a pearl like the Songxue Wise Elder’s wasn’t a combat type and was purely for connecting with others’ minds, the process of blasting the pearl itself still had a certain amount of destructive force.

Half a minute later, Gao Lingwei strode back in. Her face was pale and her gaze was sharp, as if she had just returned from battle.

"Did it work?"

Gao Lingwei plopped down onto a chair and grunted a faint, "Mhm."

But she wasn’t in good shape. With one hand on her forehead and her eyes closed, she looked like she had a splitting headache.

Rong Taotao couldn’t help her, so he just silently picked up his can of yellow peaches and started eating...

After quite a while, Gao Lingwei finally opened her eyes and let out a long sigh of relief.

Rong Taotao said, "My sister-in-law told me that once this Soul Skill is activated, the enemy you select is forced to fight and cannot retreat. Unless both sides agree to a truce and peacefully exit the Arena, anyone who flees or is defeated will suffer a certain amount of spiritual trauma."
