Chapter 6662: Tribute
Chapter 6662: Tribute
“We’ll fight for the Sacred Mansion! We’ll fight for Lord Mansion Master!”
Jie Qinghe and Jie Zhenfu expressed their stances once more. Even the army behind them was enthused at being able to contribute to the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion.
Weng!
Jie Tianran suddenly retreated into the far distance. A brilliant red light shone from where he previously stood. The red light swiftly spread outward, instantly engulfing the army. Everyone’s body glowed with a sinister, fiery-red light.
The faces of the crowd paled. As world spiritists, they immediately realized that they were caught in a refinement formation.
“Lord Mansion Master, why?!” Jie Zhenfu and Jie Qinghe looked at Jie Tianran.
“None of you have any value. The only thing that holds value is your lives,” Jie Tianran said.
The two Saint-tier elders and the others stiffened in place. They were still trying to convince themselves that the refinement formation was merely Jie Tianran’s way to test their loyalty, but the latter’s words caused their hearts to turn cold.
Jie Tianran was really planning to refine them into energy.
“Lord Mansion Master, I’d rather die in battle for the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion than to be killed by you like that. Even if we have wronged you, please send us to the battlefield to atone for our sins. We aren’t afraid of death, but we don’t want to die like that!”
Many voices echoed in the air.

Many of them were afraid of death, but some earnestly felt that way. They would rather die on the battlefield than be refined like that.
But Jie Tianran ignored their pleas. He took out a scroll labeled Immemorial Divination Art.
Shoosh!
Jie Tianran formed a hand seal with his left hand while flinging his right. Both the formation and the scroll transformed.
GAHHH!
Tragic cries echoed. Sharp blades manifested in the formation and penetrated the crowd’s bodies, severing their arteries. Fresh blood rained torrentially.
At the same time, the scroll emanated an eerie glow. It swiftly expanded while flying beneath the refinement formation. The torrential blood rain fell on the scroll.
“Lord Mansion Master...”
The crowd was in so much pain that they desperately begged Jie Tianran for mercy.
But Jie Zhenfu roared with a darkened face, “Shut up! Do you still not get it? That is a forbidden skill from the Immemorial Divination Art. Jie Tianran isn’t punishing us. He is using us as tribute to channel the Immemorial Divination Art!”
The crowd fell deathly silent. They couldn’t believe what they were hearing. Did Jie Tianran really intend to use them as tribute?
“Looks like there’s someone who understands.” Jie Tianran smiled.
“Why, Lord Mansion Master? Why?”

Many people felt indignant.
“Rest assured. I’ll tell others that you died from the Chu Clan Alliance’s ambush. Your family members will be handsomely compensated, and you’ll become martyrs of our Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. Your souls will be placed in our Hero Hall,” Jie Tianran declared.
Realizing that they were all going to die here, the crowd began to curse Jie Tianran.
However, Jie Tianran was unfazed. “Tolerate it. It’s all for the Sacred Mansion.”
He changed his hand seal. The crowd’s bodies and souls began to be refined into special energy that flowed into the scroll labeled Immemorial Divination Art.
Soon, the space fell silent. The only survivor remaining was Jie Tianran.
He conjured countless blades with a wave of his sleeve and devastated the warships. Then, he turned around and left the area.
Shortly after he left, the concealment energy obscuring the area vanished.
Little did Jie Tianran know that a pair of eyes had witnessed everything that had just happened.
“Jie Tianran...”
Unease and horror were inscribed into the face of the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief. He had heard about Jie Tianran’s deeds, but he didn’t expect the latter to make a move on their brethren like that.
“It’s the long-lost Immemorial Divination Art. He was the one who stole it. Was he the one behind the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s massacre back then?”
The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief suddenly remembered the tragic incident where over ten million families lost their lives. There was a commonality linking all of them—they had a child who was less than a year old.
Many conspiracies surfaced regarding that. Some deduced that it was a sacrificial ritual. Some suspected the Immemorial Divination Art’s forbidden skill. But those conjectures were overthrown as they didn’t think that someone could do something like this to their fellow brethren.

Only the most respected elders of the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion were qualified to learn the Immemorial Divination Art, after all.
“It’s him. He must be the one who did it. You monster, Jie Tianran!” The Ling Clan’s Clan Chief’s eyes blazed with fury.
He realized that the Ling Clan could also be reduced to Jie Tianran’s sacrifices if they continued remaining inside the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion.
“I cannot continue my folly anymore. Otherwise, I’m just bringing harm to my clansmen.” Determination gleamed in the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief’s eyes.
...
Ling Sheng’er, Ling Mo’er, and Shuang Yu were cruising through space on a boat.
Since they had failed to persuade the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief, they decided to head to a nearby realm and use an ancient teleportation formation to travel to the Ancestral Martial Galaxy. From there, they would travel to the Ancestral Martial Spiritist Sect’s main city and join Chu Feng.
“Sheng’er, you might not fear pain, but your face is completely swollen,” Ling Mo’er said.
She wanted to treat Ling Sheng’er, but the latter refused to let her do so.
“No.” Ling Sheng’er puffed up her cheeks like an unyielding child.
“Sheng’er, grandfather still cares about us. He wouldn’t have given us cultivation resources and protective treasures otherwise. However, he has his considerations as well. He has been in the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion his entire life. We need to understand where he’s coming from,” Ling Mo’er said.
The two of them were holding onto the Cosmos Sacks that the Ling Clan’s Clan Chief had given them before chasing them away.
