Chapter 487: Chapter 265: Purchasing Real Estate
In the days that followed, Cheng Zongyang spent his time browsing the various Cultivation Immortality Items available in the West District.
He took note of anything he wanted, planning to purchase them after he had secured a residence.
He also noticed some Spirit Medicines specifically for Martial Arts, like the Qi Condensing Pill, which could help an Upper Three Grades Martial Artist quickly refine their True Qi.
Cheng Zongyang made a note of this as well. ’These will help me reach the Innate realm and enter the ranks of the Extraordinary much faster.’
All the while, he continued to quietly gather more information.
「Two days later.」
Cheng Zongyang left his inn and returned to the entrance of the Spring Pavilion, where he saw Lady Qin.
She was dressed in a simple, light green dress today. Despite the plain attire, she couldn’t hide her graceful figure or the alluring charm of a mature woman.
Beneath the plain fabric, the impressive curves of her body and her slender waist were subtly revealed, inevitably sparking the imagination. She was on a completely different level from the ordinary women of Jade Peak County.
Cheng Zongyang had to admit, a woman like Lady Qin was truly hard to ignore. Of course, for him, it was nothing more than a feast for the eyes.
’I absolutely can’t let my mind wander.’
"You’re right on time." Seeing him, Lady Qin’s face broke into a smile. It was a smile filled with a mature charm that made Cheng Zongyang’s heart involuntarily beat a little faster.
He quickly composed himself, offering a fist-and-palm salute with a smile, doing his best to appear calm. "I wouldn’t dare keep you waiting, Lady Qin. Thank you for your trouble today."
Lady Qin smiled faintly, her tone warm and friendly. "Think nothing of it. In my line of work, we get paid to get things done. It’s an honest living. Let’s be on our way, then. I hope we can find a house that satisfies you today."
Cheng Zongyang nodded slightly without another word.
Soon, at Lady Qin’s arrangement, a spacious Beast Vehicle pulled by an Exotic Beast stopped at a nearby intersection.
The two of them boarded the Beast Vehicle.
However, as Cheng Zongyang followed Lady Qin onto the vehicle, many passersby looked on in surprise.
"Someone’s actually getting into Lady Qin’s private carriage? Who’s that kid?"
"Heh, who cares who he is. If he can get in her carriage, he must be her man. So young, though... I wonder how long he’ll last."
"Hahaha, with a body like Lady Qin’s, I bet even an Innate Expert couldn’t handle her."
"Keep your voices down. I heard Lady Qin has become a Cultivator. Quite a few people have died by her hand."
"Tch, don’t be ridiculous. If she were a Cultivator, she’d have moved to the East District long ago!"
"..."
Cheng Zongyang didn’t recognize the species of the Exotic Beast, but he didn’t ask.
The vehicle was fitted with an Array that insulated it from outside noise, so they didn’t hear the gossip from the pedestrians on the road.
The interior of the Beast Vehicle was quite spacious. The ride was smooth as the beast pulled it along at a gentle pace. Lady Qin leaned back lazily against a fur blanket, picked up a small booklet from her side, and handed it to Cheng Zongyang with a faint smile.
"Take a look. I’ve compiled a list of three-bedroom, single-courtyard houses that best match your requirements. There are options in the northern, western, and eastern parts of the district. If there’s one you’d particularly like to see, we can head there first. We have plenty of time today, so there’s no rush."
Cheng Zongyang accepted the booklet, thanked her, and began to look through it quietly.
Lady Qin gently tucked a stray strand of dark hair behind her ear. Her gaze lingered on Cheng Zongyang for a moment, seeming to study him, yet it was a casual, fleeting glance. Her first impression of him was indeed quite good.
Whether it was overhearing his quiet lament for the women of the brothel, or the respectful way he conducted himself when speaking with her, both were enough to leave her with a favorable impression.
Of course, it was merely a professional first impression, devoid of any personal sentiment. That was why she had allowed him into her private carriage today. As for the gossip from the people on the street, even though the carriage was soundproof, she could easily guess what they were saying.
For her, such talk was something she had long grown accustomed to.
Cheng Zongyang naturally felt Lady Qin’s gaze upon him. But it felt like a warm spring breeze, brushing past his heart before moving away without a trace. There was no strong intent behind it, nor any ill will.
Thus, Cheng Zongyang paid it no mind and returned his attention to the courtyard houses in the booklet.
Cheng Zongyang was quite surprised by the way the booklet presented the properties.
The first few pages displayed detailed illustrations of the first property. It showed the front, side, and back gates, as well as a bird’s-eye view of the entire exterior, all rendered with striking realism.
The property’s name was also noted: Fengming Courtyard.
Following that were illustrated layouts of the interior, accompanied by written descriptions. One could, in effect, get a complete understanding of the courtyard’s layout and style from the booklet without ever setting foot on the premises.
Finally, there was an overall summary and evaluation. It detailed everything from the house’s location, layout, style, and functions to its Array Attributes and price. It even included a brief history of the previous owner, the reason for the sale, any potential entanglements, and whether the deed could be smoothly transferred.
To Cheng Zongyang, the level of detail was simply astounding.
After finishing the section on the first property, Cheng Zongyang looked up at Lady Qin and cupped his fist in respect. "I am deeply impressed by your methods, Lady Qin. With a presentation this thorough, your commission is more than justified. It’s no wonder so many people speak so highly of your Ability."
Lady Qin gave a faint smile. "You flatter me. I’m simply doing my job."
Cheng Zongyang turned his attention to the second property, a courtyard in the East District named Cuiyun Residence. The description was just as detailed. But compared to the first house, this one was closer to the Zi’an River and slightly older. It was a four-bedroom house, but its price was a little higher than the first, more centrally located property, though not by much. The reason given was its superior location.
