Chapter 121: Chapter 121: You Are Mine

Anne Sutton said, "Whether I believe you or not isn’t important. I just don’t quite understand why you had to lie to me. Was it necessary to hide things about you and Ms. Shields from me?"

’He can’t possibly think I have feelings for him, can he?’

’Although... I do...’

’But I’m not that shameless!’

’I would never do something so morally corrupt!’

Nathan Fawcett glanced at Ian, who was sitting to the side. The boy was staring at them with wide eyes.

He didn’t want his son to witness a scene of adults arguing like this.

Nathan Fawcett said, "I’m not discussing this with you right now. Just eat."

Anne Sutton glanced at him and, considering Ian was there, kept her mouth shut.

After dinner, Anne Sutton went back to her room.

She was exhausted from spending the day at the hospital.

She walked in, sat down on the sofa, and gazed at the bracelet on her wrist. She wasn’t happy about this marriage at all.

She didn’t have any strong desire to be with Justin Shields.

But that’s just how it was for adults, it seemed. Sometimes, your own happiness and sorrow no longer mattered.

Just then, the door to her room was pushed open. Nathan Fawcett stood in the doorway. He was like a deity descended from the heavens; his presence alone seemed to block the entire entrance.

She stared at him, stunned for a moment, as Nathan Fawcett closed the door and walked in.

He looked at the bracelet on Anne Sutton’s wrist and commanded forcefully, "Take off the bracelet!"

Anne Sutton looked at him. "Why?"

’Even though I was going to take it off anyway!’

"Are you going to take it off or not?" Nathan Fawcett demanded.

His face was cold, and he looked rather menacing.

But Anne Sutton was precisely the kind of person who refused to be intimidated by him.

"I can’t get it off," she said.

"I’ll take it off for you."

’How could she not be able to take it off?’

With that, he grabbed her hand.

Anne Sutton stared at the man. "Ethan Linden! Are you insane? I just think you’re being really weird. What right do you have to interfere in my affairs with other people?"

"From now on, you’re not allowed to have anyone else by your side but me!"

The sight of her running off with Justin Shields today had made his heart crawl with anxiety, as if a million ants were scratching at it.

Anne Sutton stared at him. "On what grounds!"

She’d suspected as much before.

That was why she had wanted to keep her distance from him.

Now that he’d actually said it, confirming her suspicions, Anne Sutton could only think he was completely bizarre.

Nathan Fawcett looked at her and said, "Because you’re mine!"

The incident with Justin Shields made Nathan Fawcett realize he had greatly overestimated his own patience.

Though he said he didn’t mind, he actually couldn’t stand the sight of her with another man.

His words left Anne Sutton stunned.

She stared at Nathan Fawcett for a long moment before snapping back to her senses. "Are you serious?"

’Unbelievable!’

’Since when was I his?’

"I’m not joking with you," Nathan Fawcett said.

"On what grounds?" The same words, but this time Anne Sutton’s voice was tinged with grievance. ’This man... is such a bully!’

"You already have a child, and you have Stella Shields. How can you still come on to me like this!"

’Does he really think it’s easy for me to resist him and keep my distance?’

’Yet he keeps provoking me?’

"What, you don’t like Ian?" Nathan Fawcett asked.

Thinking of Ian’s adorable face, Anne Sutton said, "Of course I like him."

She really did like Ian a lot.

"Then that settles it, doesn’t it?" Nathan Fawcett said. "I’m asking you to be his mother. Are you unwilling?"

Anne Sutton stared at Nathan Fawcett. "How can I be his mother? Isn’t he Stella Shields’ child? His own mother is still around, what nonsense are you spouting? Even if you and Ms. Shields are having relationship problems, you can’t just do this!"

"When did I ever say that Ian is Stella Shields’ child?" Nathan Fawcett had no idea where these rumors were coming from either.

He had originally felt it unnecessary to explain things to Anne Sutton, but now he couldn’t hold back and just blurted it out.

’If I don’t clear this up now, this woman is really going to run off with Justin Shields over this ridiculous misunderstanding!’

Anne Sutton looked at Nathan Fawcett in surprise. "He’s not? That’s what everyone is saying."

"Everyone?" Nathan Fawcett looked at Anne Sutton, curious.

Anne Sutton said, "Charles Prescott said so, and it’s all over the internet! Who doesn’t know that you and Stella Shields have a child together?"

"You think those online rumors are reliable? Or do you think what Charles Prescott says is more credible than what I, the boy’s own father, am telling you?"

Nathan Fawcett stared at her, on the verge of being driven mad with frustration.

Anne Sutton sat on the sofa, staring blankly at Nathan Fawcett. "So, Ian isn’t Stella Shields’ child!"

"Ian probably saw the same fake entertainment news you’re talking about and got the wrong idea."

After all, Stella Shields is a top-tier celebrity now; there are all kinds of strange rumors about her.

’Ian’s intelligence must come from his biological mother. That would explain it!’

"Then... whose child is Ian?" Anne Sutton asked.

Nathan Fawcett: "..."

He stared at Anne Sutton, silent for a long moment, before saying, "Just some heartless, two-faced woman. Says one thing to your face and does another behind your back, completely untrustworthy..."

’When it came to her shortcomings, he could list a mountain of them.’

Anne Sutton watched Nathan Fawcett, seeing how he spoke through gritted teeth, and realized he must truly hate that woman.

"It sounds like she hurt you pretty deeply," Anne Sutton said.

Nathan Fawcett glanced at Anne Sutton, who was looking on like a clueless outsider. He was talking about her!

Looking at her like this, he let out a cold sneer. "More than you know."

"So, is that why you and Stella Shields aren’t together?" Anne Sutton asked.

Nathan Fawcett didn’t want to get bogged down in this topic. "So, how about it? Want to be my Ian’s mother? An offer this good is something you won’t find again in this lifetime, even if you search high and low."

’He’d already thought it through. Her marrying someone else? Impossible!’

’For the rest of her life, she was going to be with him.’

’But that didn’t mean he would like her! Definitely not.’

’He was only keeping her around so Ian would have a mother.’

"I... But, I’m your sister-in-law!" Anne Sutton said. "Even if you have nothing to do with Stella Shields, what will people think if they find out about us?"

’Although, she was admittedly tempted.’

’After all, as long as it didn’t cross any moral boundaries...’

’She would be truly happy to have an adorable child like Ian.’

’And Ethan Linden had the same face as Nathan...’

"I don’t mind, so why should you?" Nathan Fawcett said.

"..." Anne Sutton looked at him. ’Does he really not mind?’

Nathan Fawcett glanced at the bracelet on her wrist. "Take off the bracelet, and we have a deal. If you don’t, that’s fine too. Ian and I will leave tomorrow, and you can handle the Fawcett Family’s affairs on your own. I’d like to see how you’ll manage to clean up this mess without me."

Even the current situation with the Sutton Family was only under control because of his help.

Because he had stepped in to help, her father had stopped doing those things that left Anne at a loss for words.

"I... can’t I think about it?" Anne Sutton asked.

’He was threatening her again!’
