Chapter 170: Chapter 170 Leverage He Would Lose
Perry’s POV
Today marked the day I would head south with thousands of my warriors, Timothy at my side.
I’d given Timothy a proper beating for handing those sex videos to Phoebe, though I still needed the bastard breathing.
A few solid kicks to his ass had been enough to work off my irritation with my royal gamma.
"Pull that shit again and I’ll aim for your balls next time," I’d warned him after the beating, but Timothy just smirked.
"If I can drag myself out of bed, you’ll have to leave me behind for this fight."
Sometimes I couldn’t stand his smart mouth, but afterward, Timothy swore off giving her any more sex videos. Of course, he was already scheming about some book instead.
"I’ll be careful," I told Phoebe for what felt like the hundredth time. I leaned down and pressed my lips to hers, savoring her taste on my tongue. "Don’t worry about me. Focus on your studies."
Phoebe had zero interest in studying anything. She couldn’t concentrate on lessons when thoughts of me facing danger consumed her mind.
She wrapped her arms around me so tight, I could feel her desperation. She wanted to hold me like this until everyone else left and I’d stay behind, but we both knew that was just wishful thinking.
Timothy tapped her shoulder, drawing her attention.
"Mind if I borrow your mate for a few weeks? Maybe a month? We need to roll out."
Sally wasn’t pleased, despite Timothy’s grin. She scribbled something in her notebook and held it up for him to see.
The gamma bent his head to read her writing. "Hey, between the two of us, I’m the one who needs protecting. If the enemy can take him down, what shot do I have?" He arched his brows, looking genuinely offended by whatever she’d written.
Phoebe wanted to smack him upside the head but held herself back.
"Don’t you worry about me too?"
[Of course.] "You lie with a straight face." He narrowed his eyes, clearly pissed at her quick response.
"Alright, we’re leaving now." I cut off their bickering before Phoebe wasted her last few minutes arguing with Timothy instead of focusing on me. "Go do a final check."
"Already done," Timothy protested.
"Do it again."
"What?"
Something in my glare must have gotten through to him because the royal gamma finally backed down and left us alone. He grumbled the whole way, but it didn’t matter.
"Stay safe, and keep away from the elders."
I didn’t trust those old bastards. Once I dealt with this mess, they’d be next on my list. I had plans brewing to get rid of them.

Phoebe’s POV
When Perry finally left, I stood there until their cars vanished from sight. Not far from me, Viola remained as well.
Turner had earned a promotion, so naturally he’d be deployed in this kind of battle.
Last time, when they’d taken down the Crimson Fang pack, they couldn’t locate Viola’s mother. It seemed Reginald had managed to escape with their mother, which had been a relief for Viola.
But this time... she wasn’t sure they’d be so lucky, though Turner had promised to beg for the king’s forgiveness for her mother.
Viola felt incredibly fortunate to have Turner as her mate. He was everything she needed and more.
For a brief moment, our eyes met, but I immediately turned away. I didn’t want to talk with Viola.
Now that I was queen, Viola couldn’t approach me as she pleased.
She could only watch me walk away.
She wished things could be different between us, and maybe her mother could be saved.

Fiona woke with a jolt, then the headache hit. She groaned and curled up on the bed, her entire body screaming with pain.
But then she felt eyes boring into her, and when she turned, she found Reginald staring at her. His gaze was razor-sharp, like he could slice her apart with a single look.
He was furious, and Fiona could sense it, but what shocked her most was that she didn’t give a damn.
Before, she’d always tried to please him. She’d cared so much about his thoughts and how he looked at her, but now that man could rage all he wanted and she wouldn’t even flinch.
Was this the drugs’ effect? Fiona couldn’t be sure.
"Where did you go?" Reginald demanded, his voice dark with menace. "Do you remember what you did last night? Do you know who you met when you were wandering around?"
"I don’t know," Fiona groaned, trying to fall back asleep because her head felt like it was splitting open. "I don’t care."
This response set Reginald off. He crossed the room and yanked her hair back to force her attention.
Fiona yelped and fought to break free, but his grip on her hair was iron-strong, her scalp burning with pain.
"What do you want, you asshole!" Fiona screamed furiously.
For a moment, her outburst caught Reginald off guard, because Fiona had never cursed at him before.
"You met with Allen again, didn’t you? This time you went without my permission. You didn’t even tell me you two were planning to meet!"
This was what made Reginald livid, because if they met behind his back, without his consent, they’d do it again.
And Reginald would lose his control over both Fiona and Allen. His mate was his leverage to demand more from the royal beta, after all.
But if he could get what he wanted directly from her, everything would change.
"Fuck you, Reginald!"
