Chapter 155: Chapter 155 It Is About Phoebe

Reginald survived the assault, though they’d eliminated alpha Isaac and two other rebel leaders, leaving the remaining insurgents powerless.

Turner handled the aftermath, expecting to wrap things up before month’s end. With the king having banished their greatest threat, little work remained.

Yet Perry poured every resource into hunting Reginald, who’d slipped away with surviving alphas and loyal warriors. Their numbers posed no real danger—easily crushed if needed—but Perry wanted Reginald breathing when they found him.

He planned to make that bastard suffer before ending his miserable life.

Finding him was inevitable, regardless of where they hid.

Meanwhile, Reginald and his followers met with reinforcements from the Valerium kingdom. They’d crossed the border undetected, which meant serious money had changed hands. Corruption thrived everywhere, after all.

“Finally, we meet. Must’ve been hell this past week, Reginald,” Royal beta Allen said. He’d traveled personally from Valerium to meet with Reginald and the others. “So, what can we do to help?”

Reginald clasped his hand, flashing a confident smile while Sterling stood beside him and the three remaining alphas positioned themselves behind.

“Good to see you, royal beta Allen. The honor’s mine.” Reginald nodded respectfully.

Perry’s POV

I’d never let anyone but my barber touch my hair, but when Phoebe offered to trim it, I couldn’t resist. To my surprise, she did an excellent job—nothing dramatic, just shorter—and her concentration while working had been adorable to watch.

“I like this,” I said, studying my reflection. Her face lit up with pride at my approval, making my chest warm. “You did amazing.”

I spun around and kissed her, unable to help myself. I’d been stealing kisses constantly lately, catching her off guard with random affection. Today I’d invited her to lunch with the elders and alphas to celebrate my return.

The real celebration would come during her queen ceremony next month.

Today brought Timothy and the other warriors back, and I knew Phoebe was excited to see the royal gamma again.

When Timothy stepped out of the car, Phoebe rushed over and threw her arms around him. My jaw clenched instantly—I didn’t care that months had passed since their last meeting.

“Well, didn’t expect such a warm welcome,” Timothy chuckled, but his eyes shifted to me, noting my laser focus on their embrace. “Come on, you saw she hugged me first, right?”

Phoebe quickly pulled back and glanced at me. Good—she didn’t want any misunderstandings either.

“You’ll need to work overtime taming his jealous streak,” Timothy whispered in her ear, which only irritated me more. He even winked when she turned to look at him.

I’d had enough of my gamma’s games. I stalked over to them both. “You look healthy. Maybe I should ship you off to fight in Valerium.”

“Seriously? I’m still recovering,” Timothy complained, watching as I pulled Phoebe against me and led her away. “Damn. What madness.” He shook his head with a grin. “Good to be back at the palace.”

Especially with a massive celebration coming.

He lived for parties.

The following weeks blurred together as Phoebe threw herself into preparation for her queen ceremony. Everyone buzzed with excitement—it had been ages since the palace hosted such a celebration. They’d waited for this moment.

Her days overflowed with designer appointments and meetings with party coordinators. She chose everything from theme colors to flowers to room decorations, and I watched her handle it all with grace and enthusiasm.

Thankfully, the ceremony’s structure was set in stone—tradition dictated the sequence of events we’d follow.

While Phoebe handled party planning, I coordinated search efforts for Reginald. The bastard could be anywhere.

Latest intel suggested Reginald had scattered his remaining warriors, making it harder for my forces to track them all.

“The last three packs surrendered. They accepted our terms, and we executed their alphas,” Timothy reported. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

I sat with my royal beta and gamma in the war room, discussing the surrendered packs and their punishment. The alphas’ fates were sealed, but we debated whether to eliminate their entire families or install new leadership.

Mid-discussion, someone knocked. We’d caught her scent before the warrior announced that the healer requested an audience with me.

“Let’s call it here for today. We’ll continue tomorrow,” elder Tricia said, standing. Timothy followed, stretching lazily.

Marcela bowed politely as they passed, receiving respectful nods in return.

After they left, Marcela entered.

I studied the map spread across the table, glancing up when she approached. “What do you need?”

“It’s about lady Phoebe, my king,” Marcela said, and mention of my mate’s name grabbed my full attention.

“What about her?” I turned to face Marcela directly.
