Chapter 121: Chapter 121 Taking Him Piece By Piece

Perry’s POV

Tracking Phoebe’s scent proved challenging since Reginald had thrown her into a car, masking her trail. It took me a considerable amount of time to pinpoint exactly where that bastard was holding my mate.

At least they hadn’t crossed the border yet.

They’d holed up in some cheap motel a good distance from Rosa’s place. I remained in beast form, my senses locked onto Phoebe’s intoxicating scent.

She was definitely here.

I reached out through the mindlink to my ten warriors who’d followed me. We matched Reginald’s numbers perfectly—he couldn’t risk bringing a large force into enemy territory either.

Meanwhile, I could see that Reginald was distracted, completely unaware of the death closing in on him.

By the time awareness hit him, it was far too late. A howl pierced the night, signaling the attack had begun.

"Shit!" he snarled, leaping to his feet and roughly shaking Lynn awake.

The young healer had been sleeping on the floor beside Phoebe’s bed. She jerked awake, eyes wide with terror at Reginald’s expression.

"Get to the car!" Reginald barked orders at his warriors to hold the line while he scooped Phoebe into his arms, heading for the parking lot.

"My sister..." Lynn heard the sounds of battle echoing in the distance. Fear for her sister consumed her thoughts, and she instinctively tried to turn back. No warriors had followed them, and her sister was nowhere to be seen.

Reginald’s hand tangled brutally in her hair, yanking her face close to his. "Get. To. The. Car. NOW!"

Lynn’s bladder released from pure terror.

She nodded frantically and stumbled alongside Reginald as they raced toward the vehicle.

I could see panic written all over her face.

I watched as Reginald shoved Phoebe into the backseat and ordered Lynn to climb in beside her. I could see his disgust at the girl’s condition, but he clearly had bigger concerns. He slid behind the wheel, ready to flee—

I ripped the driver’s door clean off its hinges and hauled Reginald onto the asphalt before he could react.

His skull cracked against the pavement, blood streaming freely from the gash. He curled into a ball as my next strike landed, claws raking down his spine.

"Arrghh!" Reginald’s scream tore through the night as my talons shredded his shirt and carved four deep furrows into his back.

Before he could recover, I drove my foot into his groin. The impact sent him into convulsions, his breathing ragged and desperate.

Survival instincts finally kicked in. He scrambled away on hands and knees, looking up at me with pure terror.

My electric blue eyes burned with fury, red rings around the irises making me appear completely unhinged.

Reginald was finished unless he found a miracle. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"No... please, listen to me..." he babbled pathetically. Did he really think I’d pause for his excuses?

"No... don’t... stop..." He attempted to shift despite his injuries, but blood loss made the transformation nearly impossible.

I wouldn’t allow it anyway. My claws slashed across his face, destroying his left eye.

"Arrghh!" He doubled over, hand pressed to his ruined face, now half-blind.

My strike had taken a sizeable chunk of flesh. His left cheek gaped open like a crater.

I felt nothing watching his agony. If anything, rage consumed me even more completely.

I stalked closer like the predator I was, studying him methodically. I’d take him apart piece by piece.

Death would not come easily, especially after he’d dared touch my mate. His mark on her skin...

I seized his hand and snapped his pinky finger, then carved off the digit entirely. Before he could protest, I shoved it into his mouth.

Reginald gagged and tried to bend forward to spit it out, but I planted my foot on his face, sealing his lips shut. I forced him to swallow his own finger.

Nine fingers and ten toes remained, but approaching footsteps mixed with killing intent and fear made me turn.

Three of Reginald’s warriors charged toward me.

I tilted my head slightly. These three beasts posed no real threat.

But their distraction gave Reginald the opening he needed. He completed his shift and slipped from my grasp.

The three warriors proved more annoying than dangerous, but eliminating them quickly enough to pursue Reginald was impossible. My own warriors arrived too late.

They found me standing over the bodies of our enemies.

"My king! Lady Phoebe!" one warrior called from the car.

Phoebe.

I had to reach her first.
