While the battlefield descended into chaos beneath the veil of Devaratha’s Mask Senses, another battle was unfolding high above the plains of Malikavana.
A golden streak tore through the sky.
It moved so quickly that most soldiers below could only catch fleeting glimpses of it between the dense fog and the storm clouds gathering overhead.
The next instant...
A thunderous explosion echoed across the heavens.
BOOOM!
One of the heavily armored flying Rakshasas was hurled downward like a broken meteor before crashing into the earth with enough force to leave behind a deep crater.
Before anyone could comprehend what had happened...
Another explosion resounded.
Then another. And another.
The Rakshasa aerial division, which only moments ago had confidently dominated the skies, suddenly found itself thrown into complete disorder.
At the center of that devastation...
Lord Hanuman moved effortlessly through the air.
He wasn’t flying with divine techniques.
Nor was he standing upon a celestial vehicle.
He simply leapt through the sky as though the sky itself had become solid ground beneath his feet.
His long tail flowed behind him, maintaining his balance with effortless precision.
Resting comfortably upon one shoulder was his mighty Gada.
Yet every time he swung it...
The heavens trembled.
A squad of heavily armored Rakshasas descended together in perfect formation.
Unlike the lighter winged warriors, these Rakshasas wore thick black armor that covered almost every part of their bodies.
Large tower shields were strapped to their arms while massive axes and hammers rested in their hands.
They were not ordinary soldiers.
They were the Rakshasa legion’s aerial heavy infantry.
Their role was simple.
Dive into enemy formations.
Absorb the initial barrage of attacks.
Create openings.
Then allow the lighter aerial units to exploit the confusion and coordinate devastating assaults with the ground forces.
It was a strategy that had crushed countless kingdoms in ages past.
Unfortunately for them...
Their opponent today was Hanuman.
One of the armored Rakshasas roared as he descended from the sky, raising his gigantic shield.
"Kill the Vanara!"
Several others immediately surrounded Hanuman from every direction.
To an ordinary warrior...
Escape would have been impossible.
Hanuman merely smiled.
"Good."
"I was beginning to wonder when the sturdier ones would arrive."
He tightened his grip around the Gada.
The divine weapon let out a low hum, almost as though it shared its master’s excitement.
The first Rakshasa swung his axe.
Hanuman casually tilted his head.
The blade passed harmlessly beside his cheek.
At the same moment...
His Gada moved.
There was no grand technique.
No complicated maneuver.
Just a single horizontal swing.
BOOOOOOM!
The shield of the charging Rakshasa shattered instantly.
The armor covering his chest crumpled inward like thin clay.
The impact never even stopped there.
The force launched him backward, crashing through four more armored Rakshasas before all five disappeared into the battlefield below.
Hanuman blinked.
"...Too much?"
He scratched his cheek sheepishly.
"I suppose I should hold back a little."
The remaining Rakshasas stared at him in disbelief.
One of them roared and attacked from behind.
Hanuman didn’t even turn around.
His tail suddenly shot backward.
WHAM!
The thick, muscular tail struck the Rakshasa squarely in the face, sending him spinning uncontrollably through the sky before he disappeared into the distant mountains.
Another attempted to strike from above.
Hanuman simply raised one hand.
"...."
He caught the descending war hammer with his bare palm.
The Rakshasa froze.
He tried to push harder.
Nothing happened.
Hanuman looked up at him with a friendly smile.
"My turn."
He lightly flicked the hammer upward.
The weapon, along with its owner, vanished into the clouds.
A heartbeat later...
A tiny black dot fell screaming toward the battlefield.
Below...
The soldiers from both kingdoms could only stare in amazement.
Wherever Hanuman appeared...
The Rakshasa aerial formations collapsed.
They tried surrounding him.
He broke through.
They tried overwhelming him with numbers.
He scattered them with a single swing of his Gada.
They attempted coordinated assaults from multiple directions.
Hanuman met every attack before it could even begin.
His combat experience, accumulated over countless battles across the ages, allowed him to read every movement before it was completed.
One swing crushed armor.
Another shattered weapons.
A third sent entire squads tumbling helplessly from the sky.
No matter how many heavily armored Rakshasas charged him...
None succeeded in reaching the battlefield below.
Not a single coordinated aerial assault managed to form.
Every attempt ended the same way.
The first thing they saw... Was Hanuman smiling.
The second...
Was the head of his Gada filling their vision as if it appeared out of know where.
And the last thing they experienced...
Was the overwhelming force that hurled them back toward the earth.
Watching from the ground, even several Rakshasa commanders began to frown.
-Frowns!
"...."
"...."
"...."
Their aerial heavy division had been considered nearly impossible to stop.
Yet one immortal Vanara had reduced their carefully planned strategy into complete chaos within minutes.
He was overpowering them like they were noting but his play thing.
High above the battlefield, Hanuman rested the Gada upon his shoulder once more and looked around at the remaining winged Rakshasas.
"So..."
he said with a cheerful grin.
"Who’s next?"
For the first time since the battle had begun...
The Rakshasas who ruled the skies hesitated before charging again. Their greatest advantage had not merely been challenged.
It had been completely taken away.
Hanuman had no intention of allowing the Rakshasa aerial corps even a moment to recover.
The instant another squad attempted to regroup beyond the reach of his Gada, he bent his knees in midair and launched himself higher.
The heavens cracked beneath the force of his leap.
BOOOOM!
In a single bound, the immortal Vanara reached the upper layers of the battlefield where the remaining winged Rakshasas desperately tried to reorganize their scattered formations.
At the same time...
The colossal emerald projection of Vasuki, born from Devaratha’s Astra, continued its relentless hunt.
Its massive serpentine body twisted through the clouds with terrifying speed, each movement causing the very air to rumble.
Whenever its enormous jaws snapped shut, another winged Rakshasa disappeared forever.
Hanuman’s eyes sparkled.
"Well now..."
He rested his Gada across his shoulder while glancing at the divine serpent.
"Looks like I’m not the only one enjoying myself."
As if understanding him, the projection of Vasuki let out a deafening hiss that echoed across the heavens.
Hanuman laughed heartily.
"Then let’s see who catches more!"
The strange sight unfolded above the battlefield.
One was an immortal Vanara blessed by Lord Rama himself.
The other was the divine manifestation of the King of Serpents created through Devaratha’s Yogic power.
Together...
They turned the sky into a hunting ground.
A squad of winged Rakshasas attempted to surround Vasuki from every direction, believing the serpent’s enormous size would make it vulnerable.
They never reached it.
Hanuman descended upon them like a golden comet.
His Gada swept through the air.
BOOOM!
The first Rakshasa’s wings exploded into fragments.
Before the second could react, Hanuman’s tail wrapped around his ankle and flung him directly into Vasuki’s waiting jaws.
The gigantic serpent swallowed him whole before twisting away toward another group.
Elsewhere...
A line of heavily armored fliers charged toward the allied rear.
Hanuman appeared directly in front of them.
He smiled warmly at them with a smirk.
"Wrong direction."
Before they could alter course...
His Gada spun once.
The impact never touched their bodies.
The shockwave alone tore through their wings.
Feathers and broken armor scattered through the sky like leaves caught in a storm.
One after another, the Rakshasas lost control.
Some spiraled helplessly toward the earth.
Others collided with their own comrades.
A few desperately tried to flap what remained of their torn wings before crashing into the battlefield below.
To the soldiers fighting on the ground, it looked as though the heavens themselves were raining Rakshasas.
Naturally...
The Rakshasa commanders refused to simply watch.
"The sky is clear!"
"Forget the fog!"
"Target the Vanara! He is playing with us..."
Hundreds of bows were immediately raised.
Dark arrows.
Barbed spears.
Throwing javelins.
Even balls of demonic fire.
Everything was launched toward the heavens at once.
For a brief instant...
The sky darkened beneath the sheer number of projectiles.
Hanuman looked upward.
"...That’s a lot."
Then he grinned.
His playful nature surfaced.
Instead of meeting the barrage head-on...
He vanished.
Not through magic. Not through teleportation.
Pure speed.
He darted between the incoming attacks with astonishing agility, twisting his body in ways that seemed impossible.
One moment he was upside down, the next he was spinning around his own Gada,
Then flipping over a volley of arrows before using a passing spear as a foothold to spring in an entirely different direction.
Every movement was effortless.
Every motion perfectly timed.
Arrows missed him by the width of a single hair.
Spears sliced through empty air.
Fireballs burst behind him.
Watching from below...
Many soldiers could scarcely believe what they were seeing.
It looked less like a battle...
And more like a carefree dance across the heavens.
Hanuman laughed loudly as he continued weaving through the storm of attacks.
"You’ll have to do better than that!"
A Rakshasa hurled a massive spear.
Hanuman casually caught it.
"Hm."
He examined it for a moment.
"Nice craftsmanship."
Then he spun once and threw it back.
The spear pierced three surprised Rakshasas before disappearing into the clouds.
Another group fired dozens of arrows simultaneously.
Hanuman deliberately waited until the very last heartbeat.
Then...
He tucked his tail close, folded his body into a tight somersault, and slipped through the tiny gap between the arrows.
The entire volley continued onward...
Straight into a squad of Rakshasas behind him.
Hanuman stopped in midair and looked over his shoulder.
He blinked innocently.
"...You hit your own friends."
A few allied soldiers couldn’t suppress their laughter despite the raging battle.
"...."
"...."
"...."
One furious Rakshasa roared and charged him with twin axes.
Hanuman waited until the last possible instant before sidestepping.
The Rakshasa flew straight past him.
Hanuman gently tapped the warrior’s back with one finger.
"A little too fast."
Unable to recover his balance, the Rakshasa plunged directly into Vasuki’s coiling body.
The divine serpent didn’t even slow down as it swallowed another victim.
Across the battlefield, frustration rapidly replaced confidence.
The Rakshasas had expected to dominate the skies through numbers.
Instead, their formations had been broken apart by an immortal Vanara who treated the battlefield like a playground, while an enraged celestial serpent hunted them without mercy.
Every attempt to surround Hanuman failed.
Every coordinated volley was evaded.
Every mistake they made became another opportunity for him to exploit.
Above the fog-covered battlefield...
Golden laughter echoed through the heavens.
Below...
The Rakshasas could no longer tell whether they were fighting a warrior...
Or enduring the relentless antics of an immortal who had fought wars long before their race had learned to spread its wings.
