Chapter 24: Raccoon

Mateo waited to see that Level 20 Boss Monster.

The towering grass in front of him began flying everywhere, clearing his view.

He saw a gigantic raccoon that was absurdly fat.

Its stomach was enormous, comparable to a human weighing over 250 kilograms.

This was clearly a monster suffering from severe obesity, yet it was unbelievably agile thanks to the wind coating its body.

It immediately discovered Mateo.

Whoosh!

Its mouth suddenly fired a sphere of wind toward him.

Upon closer look, the inside of the wind sphere was filled with countless wind blades, ready to shred apart anyone trapped within it.

Realizing he couldn’t dodge it normally, Mateo instantly teleported, appearing beside the raccoon.

Shua! Shua! Shua!

He slashed his dagger repeatedly across different parts of the raccoon’s body.

The raccoon immediately noticed the attack.

Another surge of wind erupted from its body, forming a wall of wind.

Mateo’s dagger slashes attempted to pierce through it but stopped midway.

Even when the Primordial Fire exploded outward, there was nothing for it to burn, and the wind wall pushed the flames away from the raccoon’s body.

Mateo tried the same attack again, but the result was no different at all.

Even if he unleashed larger flames, the raccoon could simply blow them away with its wind.

Wind could indeed make fire grow stronger, but it could also sweep it away entirely.

At that moment, Mateo suddenly came up with an extreme idea.

Teleport directly inside the raccoon’s body.

What would happen then?

He didn’t hesitate long and immediately relied on the Star Wheel to teleport again.

This time, he chose the chest area. He didn’t dare teleport into the stomach, afraid he would instantly be dissolved by gastric acid.

The moment he appeared inside, warmth surrounded him from every direction.

His entire body was squeezed tightly by endlessly pulsating flesh.

He couldn’t see anything at all.

But just as he was about to do something, an incredibly powerful force suddenly pushed against him.

Whoosh!

He was blasted out and saw light again.

He had been vomited out.

Mateo couldn’t have been more shocked.

He never expected to be spat out that quickly.

Still, they were all spiritual creatures. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Anything foreign entering their bodies could be instantly detected. Expelling it could naturally be done in an instant using Spiritual Energy, whether through the mouth or directly through their spiritual pathways.

Even so, Mateo didn’t think the trick was completely unreliable.

That was because he had teleported inside before releasing his flames.

But what if his flames were already active beforehand?

Even a tiny amount of Primordial Fire could reduce anything to ashes.

Unfortunately, the moment he released his flames earlier, the raccoon’s body immediately emitted Spiritual Energy that protected its entire body.

Instantly, the Star Wheel lost access to the interior of the raccoon’s body.

Mateo finally realized that as long as a spiritual barrier existed, the Star Wheel couldn’t teleport him through it.

ROAR!

The raccoon roared furiously at Mateo, and the next thing that burst from its mouth was a violent tornado that swept everything into the air while directly pursuing him.

Mateo began doubting whether he could actually kill this monster.

However, something suddenly caused his expression to turn strange.

Shua!

He teleported again and appeared inside a gigantic cave.

It was somewhat different from normal caves because it had a stone door sealing the entrance. It also wasn’t dark since a crystal illuminating the room hung nearby.

It was merely an ordinary light crystal used by townspeople to brighten the night.

Mateo’s gaze was quickly drawn toward a cluster of wind spinning together into a sphere.

It was extremely visible because the wind was compressed so densely.

Inside it, Mateo saw a small bright green orb.

That orb was the source summoning the surrounding winds into that sphere.

Mateo walked toward it.

He didn’t sense any danger, so he reached his hand into the wind sphere and grabbed the green orb.

DING!

(You obtained a Supreme Wind Crystal. Swallow it to obtain the Supreme Wind Element!)

The notification caused Mateo to reveal a strange look.

Supreme, this was an Element one rank below Primordial.

Yet even Boss Monsters didn’t necessarily possess one. Most only had Sky-Class Elements.

Naturally, this was an extremely valuable rare resource.

Should he swallow it or not?

Mateo hesitated.

Obtaining a Primordial Element through Heaven Path Soul Energy cost 25 points.

But what if he already possessed a Supreme Element beforehand? Would the price become cheaper?

’It definitely will...’ Mateo was extremely certain.

After thinking briefly, he swallowed it.

Money?

Not right now.

He wanted more power.

Besides, if he truly wanted money, he could simply mass-produce extracts from his Primordial Life Element.

The instant he swallowed the Supreme Wind Crystal, Mateo immediately felt a new power awaken inside his body.

DING!

(You obtained the Supreme Wind Element!)

[Element Affinity: Primordial Fire, Primordial Life, Supreme Wind]

The notification appeared. The process was incredibly short.

However, obtaining the Wind Element didn’t mean he could actually control it.

All he could currently do was release it without any control whatsoever.

He wondered if it would help him kill the raccoon.

It probably wouldn’t.

Unfortunately, nothing else inside the cave seemed valuable.

That light crystal clearly wasn’t worth much.

BOOM!

The cave door suddenly exploded apart, revealing the raccoon’s furious face.

It glared at Mateo as though it wanted nothing more than to devour him alive.
