Chapter 1759: Chapter 1302: Rising Like the Sun, Shining Like the Moon (Part 2)
Meteor Red?
The two were taken aback, and the golden mask laughed, "That name doesn’t quite fit; she’s not a meteor, she’s already a constant star. Her brilliance will outlast any dynasty... Get me a drink too."
"No." The bartender turned away, "You just stood by and watched, I remember. Once I become Holy Domain, I’ll come knocking for advice, so you better wash your neck and wait!"
"Yeah, yeah." The wolf-clad youth added fuel to the fire, "I’ve always heard you’re the noble’s model, but I didn’t expect you to stand idly by—I’m very disappointed."
"I thought about helping, but I figured it might ruin your fun, miss." The golden mask chuckled, "You seemed ready to counterattack just now, right? You appear quite adept at handling situations like this."
The bartender blinked, "No, how could you say that? I’m just a cute and weak water mage."
The wolf-clad youth laughed, "So you mean I’m meddling? No wonder you’re that person’s friend, truly can’t underestimate you."
"Although I owe Sonia a lot..." The bartender said gloomily, "But now whenever I make progress, people immediately attribute it to my friendship with her. Isn’t that a bit much..."
"Indeed, in the path of magic, everyone must rely on themselves. Outside help, while lovely, merely adds to the shine; we shouldn’t lightly erase your personal effort." The golden mask apologized, "I’m sorry."
"Being misunderstood is the fate of a genius beauty." The bartender sighed, "I’ve gotten used to it."
"Tsk," the wolf-clad youth looked gloomy, "Why do you seem even cuter than last year? Is it possible you actually don’t have a fiancé, and I have a tiny bit of hope?"
"Even if I didn’t have a fiancé, you’d have no chance—you’re not my type."
"Then what type do you like?"
"My fiancé’s type."
"Another round of Meteor Blood!" The wolf-clad youth smacked the bar, "I need to drown my sorrow in drink!"
The golden mask watched amusingly, saying, "The person who just hit on you might not have been targeting you specifically..."
"I know, that’s why I said I’m used to it." The bartender shrugged, "A lot of people still think I have ties with Sonia. When they can’t reach Sonia, they try a honey trap to win me over, fantasizing about obtaining Sonia’s contact info from me. For the first time in months, my unwanted attention level has surpassed my kindergarten days—any guy or girl who appears before me tries to win my favor."
"You must be troubled by this."
"Not really, the world revolving around you is pretty nice." The bartender crossed her arms, "Plus, with so many handsome guys vying to please me, it gives me a guilty little thrill."
"So you’ve considered changing your fiancé?" The wolf-clad youth continued hoping to swoop in.
"I actually have, once during a cold war with the annoying guy, while he wouldn’t coax me, handsome guys were expressing warmth and concern, and I was moved." The bartender said, "But I’m an incurable childhood sweethearts’ pure love enthusiast; though the outside guys are good, you grow tired of them over time. The doggone guy I’ve played with since childhood never tires me."
"Childhood sweethearts, how nice." The wolf-clad youth sighed, "Why did I only grow up with a bunch of idiots, oh, and a tagalong brother."
The golden mask said softly, "Having a brother who looks up to you isn’t bad either."
He paused, then looked at the bartender, "Have you heard any news from that person lately?"
"So that’s why you’ve squeezed time to come here amidst your busy schedule." The wolf-clad youth came to a sudden realization, "You’re also hoping to make connections."
The golden mask smiled without explaining.
"No, none." The bartender said helplessly, "To go so far, even if Sonia misses me, she could look at a distance, without needing to contact me. She knows her influence and won’t easily affect my life—though I’d love to brag about her..."
"Pardon my boldness." The golden mask nodded.
"So no chance of meeting the Sword Maiden at this ball either?" The wolf-clad youth looked disappointed, "I heard a rumor that the Sword Maiden might appear here; I rushed over because of it."
"Oh, that rumor." The bartender said, "I started it."
"Ah!?" The two were startled.
"It wasn’t baseless, after all, Sonia sang at last year’s ball. Sonia enjoys campus life; a masked ball is a perfect opportunity to conceal identity. If she returns to Dazzling Star, she’d likely attend the masked ball to relive campus life." The bartender said earnestly, "I said the masked ball is the most likely place for the Sword Maiden to appear, isn’t that right?"
"So I came for nothing." The wolf-clad youth said gloomily.
"How could it be for nothing? Didn’t you meet a cute and smart bartender?" The bartender struck a cute pose.
"If I challenged your fiancé to a man-to-man duel, could I win the beauty?" The wolf-clad youth asked seriously.
The bartender looked at the golden mask and pointed to the wolf-clad youth, "Beat him up."
"Alright, I’ll ask again next year if you’re single." The wolf-clad youth sighed, "A year passed, I’m still a Two-winged Mage, seems I’ve made no progress."
"I’m in a similar situation. A year has passed, and I haven’t fully formed my Rainbow Void Wings." The man with the golden mask said, "A year ago, the Sword Maiden was just like me, a Holy Sanctuary Mage..."
"Back then, I fantasized about catching up to her, but now even her shadow is at a height I dare not even dream of." The young man in wolf attire looked up at the Star Cluster, saying, "Where is she now, and what is she doing?"
"She will reach a pinnacle that we can’t even see by straining our necks upwards. In countless years to come, everything might perish, but our era will have her leaving a vibrant mark on the river of history," said the man with the golden mask. "To be fortunate enough to live in the same era as her is our honor."
"Well said! I love hearing people praise the Sword Maiden!" The bartender prepared three cups of Meteor Red, giggling and saying, "Let’s have a drink!"
The man with the golden mask raised his glass, "To her future rising like the sun and constant like the moon."
"To her future rising like the sun and constant like the moon!"
The bartender, the young man in wolf attire, and the man with the golden mask clinked glasses and drank them down.
Crack.
At this moment, everyone heard a distant cracking sound simultaneously, as if something was breaking in a place infinitely far above.
Everyone looked up to find that the starry night sky had disappeared, replaced by five different worlds.
The entire universe was like the inside of a cube, with six mutually perpendicular faces. If the Dazzling Star was considered the base, then the other five faces held five different realms!
"What happened!?"
"A Wonder?"
"Is something big happening again!?"
Though not in chaos, the young people at the masquerade ball were in great shock, aware that something significant was about to happen, and this time, beings from all six realms would be witnesses.
"What is this...?" the bartender murmured.
"That’s the Kingdom of Blood Moon!" The young man in wolf attire pointed at the realm above, excitedly saying, "Look, their land is pale red because their moonlight is blood-red!"
"So the other dimensions correspond to the other realms?" The man with the golden mask looked at the four dimensions perpendicular to the Kingdom of Stars, "I thought the six realms were just too far apart to form a whole...it turns out that from the beginning, the six realms were six separate dimensions!?"
"Look over there," the young man in wolf attire suddenly pointed at one of the realms, his face full of disbelief, "That can’t be..."
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The sound of breaking constantly echoed, drawing everyone’s attention. They saw a sword-shaped temple within the most desolate and dark Senluo realm breaking through an invisible barrier, the origin of the cracking sound. As the sword-shaped temple pierced the barrier, it seemed to be breaking through the limitation of one of the cube’s "faces," transforming its existence from "plane" to "solid!"
Beneath the sword-shaped temple, four figures were visible. Though separated by an infinite distance, anyone on earth could see their appearance clearly by looking up, or conversely, it was the celestial beings who imprinted their existence clearly in the minds of all living things!
Bright as the sun, pure as the moon!
Rising like the sun, constant like the moon!
At this moment, everyone at Sword Flower University was dumbfounded, staring blankly at the sky. They all once imagined they might see that prodigious genius at this masquerade, but didn’t expect to truly see her...and for her to appear in such a manner.
"This is..." the young man in wolf attire’s voice trembled, "Only a year, and she’s already..."
"A year ago, this stage at Sword Flower University was already inadequate to contain her." The man with the golden mask murmured, "A year later, even the stage of earth is not enough for her antics."
"Raise the Heavenly Kingdom, ascend to Divine Lord status," the bartender said leisurely, "She has finally reached this step."
Not only did the man with the golden mask and the young man in wolf attire begin to regard her with newfound respect—the calmness with which they were witnessing this once-in-a-millennium event showed she was by no means ordinary either.
"Hey, you two, I want to ask you something." The bartender poured herself a drink, "Sonia is my good friend, right?"
The two nodded.
"Now Sonia’s about to ascend to Divine Lord status, right?" The bartender downed her drink.
They continued to nod.
"So," the bartender’s body trembled slightly, "I’m about to have a friend who is a Divine Lord, right?"
Once again, they nodded.
The bartender took a deep breath, her face showing a slightly tipsy flush, and she revealed a sly, proud smile to them.
"Everyone, focus on me, I have an announcement!" she raised her hands high, exclaiming excitedly, "The reason I, Adelle, have achieved today’s success is nothing else, but because I’m good friends with the Divine Lord whose grasp reaches the heavens!"
