Chapter 167: Chapter 170: Being Bullied?
He had only just found out that he actually had a little brother, and this was what he discovered the first time he visited him at school?
Hearing this, Evan’s serious expression turned timid and scared. As his little brother, he knew what kind of personality his big brother had.
Even though his big brother was a quiet person, he had once fought back against the bullies when he was young. Even in a three-against-one fight, he still stood his ground.
Although his big brother lost, his courage was admirable.
But thanks to that confrontation, he was not bullied anymore. However, this time was different, so he had to keep it a secret no matter what.
If Jeff could hear his thoughts, he would not have expected that his other self here was courageous enough to fight in a three-against-one battle.
Since he back in his world was a very civilized person.
"Big Brother, don’t misunderstand, I just accidentally slipped because I was not looking where I was going. That’s the whole story, and as for bullying? That never happened," he explained, showing a very honest expression.
Hearing this, Jeff just stood there and looked at him for a moment.
The security guard, who felt that he had lost face, was about to speak up.
However, Jeff only turned his neck and looked at him coldly while releasing an overwhelming pressure. It made the guard cover his mouth and swallow a mouthful of saliva.
"Take your lunchbox, and here is some money for your allowance, go ahead and buy anything you want. I’ll be waiting outside when you are done with your exam," Jeff said as he took out more than 10,000 pesos.
Seeing such a large amount of money, Evan’s eyes widened. This amount was not small, and his big brother said that it was for him.
But where did this money come from?
"Don’t worry, it is my money, not Mother’s. Go back now and focus on your studies," Jeff instructed while putting the money and lunchbox into Evan’s hands.
After that, he waved his hand, telling him to leave. Evan just nodded accepting this with a suspcious look.
After leaving he thanked him first before running back, since he still had a lot of important things to do.
The security guard, who could finally breathe a sigh of relief, looked at this little monster and wondered what kind of kid he was.
Those eyes and that pressure felt like he was facing a wild animal. Because of that, he could only step aside as Jeff passed by him.
However, Jeff stopped and looked at the man and said.
"Here’s my contact number, tell me if something happened to my little brother, if you did so I’ll give you another five thousands," he said casually tossing him a five thousand pesos.
Even though he could scare this security guard senseless, if something happened to Evan, the guard might never call him.
Because of that, it was better to bribe him. This made the security guard’s face show a hint of greed and expectations that Evan must better get bullied today, if not no money for him.
"Young Master, leave your little brother to me. I will call you if something bad happens to him," he said with a gleeful expression, since he had just earned ten days’ worth of salary from this.
If he received another five thousand, that would be worth almost two weeks of salary. Jeff only nodded his head before walking toward the cafe across the school entrance.
Ordering a milkshake and some bread, he stood in the far corner and took a sip. As he did, he decided to wait for the time to pass and enjoy this rare moment of leisure.
Closing his eyes, he leaned his head back against the soft cushioned booth seat, the leather feeling cool against his neck.
The padded backrest supported him comfortably as he let out a quiet breath, enjoying the calm atmosphere for a moment.
Taking the milkshake again, he took another sip before eating some bread while deep in thought. He was wondering where he could hold his little brother’s birthday party.
Since their home was too small to make the celebration grand, he thought that maybe later, after this, he should look for hotels or other places where he could rent a space and celebrate the party.
After finishing everything, he leaned back and closed his eyes as he looked at the ceiling. When noon arrived, many people and some students began to enter the cafe.
They filled the seats one by one, and as more and more people occupied the place, Jeff continued waiting for the time to pass.
Then, he suddenly felt a presence near him.
Opening his eyes, he saw three girls and one guy standing in front of him. Two of the girls seemed familiar, and then a memory flashed in his mind as he finally remembered who they were.
They were actually the two girls who had ridden with him in the van when he returned here. But now, they were already wearing their school uniforms.
The two girls were also surprised, since this was the same man they had met during the ride. As they looked at each other, the guy and the other girl looked at the three of them in confusion.
"Do you three know each other?" the other girl asked, her curiosity piqued since she had never met this guy before.
She was surprised because this guy looked so badass, and he seemed more like someone who came from a rich family.
Before they could misunderstand even further, the long-haired girl hastily explained.
"Not really, we just only met him while riding public at the same transportation. We sat together in one seat, but other than that, we really do not have any other connection."
If she also explained that her sister had almost wanted to eat this man alive, where would her sister hide her face?
The short girl blushed when she saw him again, feeling embarrassed and shy as she remembered what had happened back in the van.
"Are you sure? From the way I see it, there seems to be a deeper story here," the other girl said while placing a finger on her lips.
Jeff, who was already feeling bored by this, simply looked at them and asked,
"Is there anything you want?"
Hearing his blunt words, the guy standing with the three girls took a step forward. He was handsome, and there was a hint of a fighter in the way he carried himself.
"Is it okay for us to sit here? There are still some vacant seats at your table, and from the looks of it, you seem to be alone. Having a bit of company should not be a problem, right?" the blond-haired young man said.
His voice was neither respectful nor arrogant, "Besides, you seem to already know Mira and Mara. For the sake of being friends, is it fine?" he added.
Jeff did not wander his eyes around and for a moment his senses spread outward. Then he saw that it was really as the blonde man had said.
Every seat in the cafe had already been occupied, except for the empty seats near him.
Also, he could not outright deny him, since this was a coffee shop and it did not belong to him.
Another thing was that he was not really that bad of a person to drive them away for no reason.
"Sure, it is not really a problem," Jeff said as he moved closer to the wall.
Sitting across from him was the talkative girl from earlier, and right beside her was the young man.
Mara, the long-haired girl sat at the edge of the seat, while Mira sat in the center.
Feeling her shoulder brush against Jeff’s arm, Mira’s face turned red as she blushed.
The young man and the talkative girl saw this, looked at each other and smiled. Clearly, there must be something more that the two of them were hiding.
"Why did I have to sit in the center? I should have said something earlier," Mira thought, almost wanting to cry.
Because of her timid nature, she had been placed in a very problematic spot.
"Are you guys going to order anything?" Mara asked as she took the menu.
"Just milk tea for me," the young man said.
"What about you, Lora?" Mara asked.
"Juice is fine, and also a sandwich. I do not feel like eating anything heavy right now."
"What about you, Mira?" she asked.
Mira kept her head down, too embarrassed to even raise her face and look straight ahead.
"Mira!" Mara raised her voice a little while moving closer to her sister’s ear.
"Ehhh!" Mira was frightened for a moment before quickly apologizing and giving her order.
Mara nodded and before she left, she glanced at Jeff. Seeing that he had already ordered his own food earlier, she only asked out of courtesy since they had just met.
"Do you also want to have some?"
Jeff looked at her and thought for a short moment before replying, "I want a cheeseburger, please."
