Chapter 127: Chapter 127: I am Your Brother-in-Law
It was a girl, looking about Ariel Morris’s age, wearing the school skirt of Virtue High School, with anxiety between her brows.
The girl walked towards them, and Ariel Morris instinctively let go of Arlo Seys’s hand, looking at the approaching person and softly calling out, "Scarlett."
The newcomer was indeed Scarlett Morris, Ariel Morris’s sister.
Scarlett Morris stepped forward, approached them, and cast a disdainful glance at her cheap elder sister, who was her sister in name but had no blood relation. Her tone was slightly impatient: "Dad and mom want you to come home for dinner."
Ariel Morris nodded lightly, "Alright." After agreeing with Scarlett Morris’s words, she turned to Arlo Seys and said softly, "Arlo, just send me here. I’ll go home with my sister."
Following Ariel Morris’s words, Scarlett Morris’s gaze shifted to the person standing beside Ariel.
From far away, she had already seen her sister walking intimately with a boy. Just now, she mocked Ariel Morris in her heart for being the obedient daughter in front of their parents while secretly engaging in early romance. As she approached and scrutinized the boy, she realized that boys from Virtue were often unimpressive.
This boy in front of her, wearing a pure white T-shirt, had clean, neat hair lightly draping over his forehead. His eyes were calm as water, a tall figure, sharp, handsome facial features, an ethereal, elegant demeanor that instantly dazzled her.
Scarlett Morris’s moment of daze, the flicker in her eyes, Ariel Morris noticed. Her fingertips tightened slightly, pinching silently into her palm.
She took two steps back, standing beside Arlo Seys, smiling silently to assert her ownership, then introduced: "Arlo, this is my sister, Scarlett Morris. Scarlett, this is Arlo Seys."
One can’t blame her for being so guarded; every time Scarlett saw something Ariel owned, she would reach out and grab it. She had known since childhood that she and Scarlett were different in the Morris Family; she wasn’t their biological daughter and was an outsider compared to Scarlett.
So she never argued with Scarlett, only enduring, smiling at her parents, claiming she didn’t mind.
But just now, the look Scarlett gave Arlo Seys was the same as when she eyed Ariel’s belongings, determined and confident.
She couldn’t compete with this sister; it had always been so since childhood, which is why she panicked, afraid Scarlett might snatch away Arlo like she did with other things.
"Hello Arlo Seys, I’m Scarlett Morris." Scarlett Morris smiled brightly, extending her hand towards Arlo Seys.
Scarlett Morris looked very pretty, her light makeup adding a touch of charm, her radiant smile dazzling and eye-catching. Ariel Morris looked at the flower-like beauty of Scarlett, slightly lowering her gaze, pursing her lips, and keeping silent.
Arlo Seys’s indifferent eyes passed over the person with the slightly lowered head, then turned to face his girlfriend’s sister, his voice cool, as aloof and distant as his demeanor, difficult to approach: "I’m your brother-in-law, Arlo Seys." After speaking, he gently shook Scarlett’s hand before pulling back.
Though he was puzzled by Ariel’s unusual behavior when seeing her sister, since Scarlett was Ariel’s sister, as Ariel’s formal boyfriend, he felt it was appropriate to be courteous to this future sister-in-law.
He didn’t want Ariel’s family to become a barrier between them, so he wouldn’t be foolish enough to offend a sister-in-law.
"..."
Ariel Morris immediately looked up, turning to the person beside her.
Brother-in-law... God Seys, your self-introduction...
Why did it make her feel both shy and delighted?
