Chapter 1152: Chapter 1152: Jose Floyd’s Cold Ridicule
"Worried about him?" Jose Floyd’s icy eyes swept over Nicole’s face as her panic and fear fueled his growing anger, his voice chillingly devoid of warmth: "My mother is unwell, and since you studied medicine, I want you to care for her until she leaves City C."
"No....." Nicole immediately refused.
If she went to care for his mother, she would have to face the person she hated most every day, something she was entirely unwilling to do.
"You have no right to refuse! Tomorrow morning at ten, if you don’t arrive at Clearflower Estate on time, I’ll have Camden come to Seys Family to get you!"
Jose Floyd finished speaking and left without giving Nicole any time to react, his back cold and ruthless.
Nicole felt a chill run through her body.
He never gave anyone a choice; he just liked to make decisions overbearingly. Whether others liked it or not, he always decided everything!
Autocratic! Domineering and cruel!
His threat indeed intimidated her into submission!
Just the thought of having to go to Clearflower Estate and interact with him, his fiancée, and his family made her heart instinctively reject it...

The five of them walked down the mountain, Olivia Summer clinging to Nicole insisted on treating her to a meal.
Nicole felt uneasy, facing Jose Floyd’s cold gaze, she nodded lightly.
The three went to a locally famous City C restaurant, with a fresh and rustic charm.
Nicole quite liked the food there and had a good appetite. Only, if a certain man wasn’t sitting across from her, she would have had an even better appetite.
"The tripe here is really good." Steven Cooper also praised it, reaching to place a piece on Nicole’s plate.
Before Nicole could say no, Jose Floyd glanced at Steven’s offering, chuckling softly, with a hint of a sneer, "She doesn’t eat tripe at all."
Steven’s chopsticks stalled at Jose’s comment, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
The atmosphere in the private room suddenly held a touch of awkwardness.
Olivia Summer looked at her son in amazement and then glanced at Nicole, who had her eyes downcast, "Why do you know Nicole’s tastes so well, son? Aren’t you both not that familiar?"
Jose Floyd let out a cold laugh, picked up a dish in front of him, and ate, while gazing coldly at Nicole.
Nicole didn’t even have to look up to feel Jose Floyd’s unforgiving, mocking gaze. Her grip on her chopsticks tightened slightly. Slowly, she raised her eyes to face the questioning glances around the table and murmured in response: "Because we once had a meal together, that’s why Mr. Floyd knows I don’t eat tripe."
Olivia Summer initially wanted to ask, ’Aren’t you both not that familiar?’ but swallowed the words, feeling that asking her son whether he was familiar with another woman in front of Andrea Greenwood would be awkward.
Olivia Summer chuckled, playfully addressing Steven and Nicole, "So that’s why. Mr. Cooper, you better remember, Nicole doesn’t eat tripe. As her fiancé, you should keep that in mind."
"Okay, thank you, Auntie, for the reminder." Steven Cooper smiled slightly, placing the tripe in his bowl, and picked up some home-style vegetables to give to Nicole.
Jose Floyd watched coldly, suddenly interjecting, "Vegetables—do you think Nicole’s too fat and needs to diet?"
"..." Steven was momentarily at a loss and quickly explained, "No, no..... Nicole isn’t fat. I think she’s too thin, she’d be better ten pounds heavier."
"You’re giving her vegetables and yet talking about gaining weight." Jose Floyd’s mouth twisted into a low chuckle, spreading the feeling of mockery throughout the room.
Olivia Summer glared at her unusually behaving son, apologizing to Steven, "Don’t mind him! What does he know about caring for a woman? He’s never had a woman!"
