Chapter 250: So yes ... Sister Freya it is.

Liam immediately frowned.

But before he could say anything, Charlotte turned and walked away.

He watched her retreating figure, not knowing what to say. He simply couldn’t understand why his mother refused to see that her persistence was wrong. If she continued down this path, she would only push Adelyn farther and farther away.

Adelyn was their sister. They had already wronged her enough. If they wronged her even a little more, everything between them would be over forever.

"Mom ... you’re doing it all wrong," he sighed under his breath. "Clara and Adelyn deserve to be treated the same. Favoring Clara unconditionally is wrong. We’ll regret it later. You ... you’ll regret it later."

He had wanted to say those very words before.

Back then, when the kidnapping happened seven years ago, he lost his chance.

And now ...

Once again, he couldn’t bring himself to say them aloud.

Not when his mother kept reminding him how much they owed Clara over the years.

Meanwhile—

At the training grounds, Adelyn finished her practice before making her way toward Amelia.

Unlike every other day, Amelia wore a solemn expression. She sat there absentmindedly, rubbing one hand over the other, clearly lost in thought.

One look at her was enough for anyone to tell that something was making her extremely anxious.

Adelyn didn’t question her immediately. She was still drenched in sweat from training, so she calmly picked up a towel and wiped herself down before reaching for a bottle of water and taking a few slow sips.

Only after she had finished did she look at Amelia.

"If you don’t want to share it, I won’t ask," she said casually. "Take your time. I’ll go change first."

With that, she turned toward the locker room.

But before she could take more than a few steps, Amelia suddenly stood up and stomped her foot.

"Adelyn Grace! How can you be so nonchalant?" she blurted out. "Do you even know what’s happening?"

Adelyn stopped and turned around, looking at her with her usual calm expression.

"I don’t," she admitted with a small shrug.

Amelia wanted to vent. But hearing such a short, casual response, she almost forgot what she had wanted to say.

"If you didn’t know," she huffed, "shouldn’t you at least ask?"

Adelyn raised a brow and innocently tilted her head. "If you wanted me to know, wouldn’t you have already told me?"

"You— I ..."

Amelia was rendered speechless.

Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she finally gave up.

"Fine. I’ll tell you. I will."

Adelyn gave her a small nod.

Clenching her fists, Amelia continued,

"The company is pressuring Freya again. They want you signed under ZX Media no matter what, and they’re forcing her, using every possible means to make it happen."

She paused before adding, "They’ve called Freya in again today. I don’t know what tricks they’ll use this time to convince her."

Freya hadn’t mentioned any of this to Adelyn.

So, although she hadn’t known the details, she had already expected something like this to happen sooner or later.

Ever since her encounter with Corrin Thatcher at the company, his confidence had made everything obvious.

So when Amelia finally confirmed it, Adelyn wasn’t particularly surprised.

She simply nodded.

"Oh."

Amelia blinked.

She stared at Adelyn, waiting for something more.

Anything.

When nothing came, she finally exploded.

"That’s it?" She took a step closer. "After everything I just told you, all you have to say is ’Oh’?"

"Adelyn, do you even know how to react to situations like this?"

Adelyn looked genuinely puzzled.

"How else do you want me to react?"

"You ..."

Amelia felt another headache coming on. At this point, she regretted bringing this matter up with Adelyn at all. At least when she had been worrying by herself, her blood pressure had remained under control.

Now ...

She wasn’t so sure anymore.

"Fine. Stay nonchalant," Amelia grumbled. "But don’t come crying to me when the company starts mistreating you. By then, neither Freya nor I will be around to protect you."

Adelyn smiled.

"Don’t worry," she said, shaking her head. "That day won’t come."

Her confidence was unwavering —so unwavering that Amelia couldn’t help frowning.

Could there be something that Adelyn knew and she didn’t?

"How are you so sure?" she asked.

Adelyn looked at her before the smile on her lips deepened ever so slightly. "Because I trust Sister Freya." She shrugged lightly. "She won’t hand me over just because someone is forcing her."

Amelia froze.

She had always known Freya was stubborn.

But hearing the absolute trust in Adelyn’s voice somehow made Freya seem even more unshakable.

"You trust Freya that much?" she asked quietly. She trusted Freya too, but she was also concerned about her getting cornered alone.

Adelyn smiled.

"What else can I do?" she said with another shrug. "You’re not exactly worthy of that much trust. So yes ... Sister Freya it is."

With that, she turned and headed toward the locker room.

It took Amelia a moment to process what she had just heard. And by the time she did, Adelyn had already disappeared inside.

"You— what did you just say?" she shouted after her. "Say that again! I’m not trustworthy?"

"Don’t forget, I was the one who found you! If not for me, you wouldn’t have even met Freya!"

Adelyn heard every single word.

But she never looked back.

She simply walked farther into the locker room until she disappeared from sight.

Behind her, Amelia stood and stomped her foot. She was never like this —acting out over a few petty words ...

Yet every time Adelyn makes her lose it.

Why was this girl like this to her?

Meanwhile—

At ZX Media—

A folder was pushed across the desk toward Freya.

"Here."

Corrin Thatcher said with an obvious smirk on his lips.

"Get her to sign this agreement as soon as possible. Once she does, she’ll officially become one of the company’s artistes."

Freya lowered her gaze to the contract before slowly lifting her eyes back to the man.
