Chapter 34: Short Meeting
"How is this possible? I clearly saw him die."
The truth was, he hadn’t been there personally. Instead, the people he had sent recorded the entire process of killing the host and forwarded the footage to him.
Victor absorbed everything with barely restrained excitement. He nearly burst into laughter. At this rate, he might not even need to kill the man himself—the fool could simply die from fear.
Clark, who was already being supported by two students, raised a hand before speaking.
"The class is over for today. We’ll continue tomorrow. I’m not feeling well."
"What?!" Seraphina blurted out in frustration.
The teacher paid her no attention. He hurried out of the classroom, still shaken by his brush with death. Right now, his own safety mattered more than anything else.
From the corner, Victor let out a quiet chuckle.
Seraphina noticed immediately.
"You... what did you do?" she demanded.
She was left speechless when Victor ignored her completely, not even sparing her a glance.
She wasn’t important to his pursuit of power, so why should he waste his time answering a child?

The blatant disregard struck a nerve.
As he left the classroom, Victor stretched his arms before taking out the orb once more.
"Show me where I can train, Trinket."
The orb responded immediately.
G11
Without wasting another second, Victor headed there. To his surprise, it was only five classrooms away.
He soon arrived before a pair of massive doors, with a sign hanging above them.
Gymnasium
As if sensing his arrival, the automatic doors slid open, and the pungent smell of sweat rushed into his nostrils.
"Long time no see, my friend," Victor muttered with a grin.
Stepping inside, he found the place packed with students pushing themselves to their limits. Some were deadlifting over 2,000 pounds, while others tossed 1,000-pound weights around as though they were toys.
The place was far from an ordinary room. It resembled a vast landscape stretching for miles, with dirt-covered ground broken up by patches of green grass.
Victor immediately realized that some kind of spatial ability was at work. There was no other way such an enormous training ground could fit inside a building that looked so small from the outside.
Different sections had been designated for various forms of training. Transparent domes enclosed students while they exercised, isolating each area. In the distance, two students were engaged in a fierce sparring match inside one of the domes while several others gathered to watch.
"That must be the sparring arena," Victor murmured before walking toward the weightlifting section.
"I should find out my strength limit."
The moment he stepped into the area, a transparent dome formed around him.

So that’s why they use these things...
It completely blocked out the noise from outside.
Victor stared at a 200-pound barbell. He crouched down, gripped it firmly, and strained with all his might.
It barely rose three centimeters.
The instant it crashed back onto the ground, dizziness washed over him, forcing him to stagger backward.
"What a disgraceful body... Urgh."
Then it suddenly clicked.
"The Power Points."
Without hesitation, he opened the system, selected his status window, and scrolled to the bottom.
There it was.
"Add all Power Points to Strength."
⟦𓆩 All Power Points have been successfully allocated. 𓆪⟧
⟦𓆩 Attributes 𓆪⟧
⟦𓆩 Strength: 20 𓆪⟧
⟦𓆩 Agility: 10 [Average person = 10] 𓆪⟧
⟦𓆩 Stamina: 10 [Average person = 10] 𓆪⟧
Looking over his attributes, Victor realized his mistake.
He had read countless books over the years, all of which warned that focusing too heavily on a single attribute could become a weakness in combat.
"Oh well... nothing I can do about it now."
He grabbed the weight again.
This time, he nearly lost his balance as the barbell shot upward. The weight that had felt impossibly heavy moments ago now felt as light as paper.
"Heh... I’m as strong as that Caleb guy now."
Speak of the devil.
Caleb had just finished a sparring session. As he stepped out of the dome and looked around while catching his breath, his pupils suddenly widened.

His gaze locked onto the one person who had occupied his thoughts all day.
"That bastard is here!"
What shocked him even more was the sight of Victor effortlessly holding the massive weight with one hand despite his lean, almost fragile-looking frame.

Deep within the academy lay a place where students were strictly forbidden from entering unless they received special permission. Even the academy’s teachers had to schedule an appointment just to meet the person who resided there.
It was the principal’s office—the same place Victor had visited earlier, where he met General Rick, the academy’s principal.
At that very moment, an emergency meeting was underway to address the growing number of incidents threatening the students’ safety.
Six individuals occupied the room, each holding one of the academy’s highest-ranking positions. They sat around a long rectangular table, shrouded in tense silence.
Among them were several familiar faces.
The silence was finally broken as the principal began to speak.
"The matter before us concerns the safety of our recruits. We have been suffering casualties one after another."
He paused briefly before continuing.
"We still have no explanation for the deaths of several students, nor for the mysterious illness affecting others. We need answers—not only for ourselves, but also for their families."
"And if news of this reaches the public, the academy’s reputation will suffer."
The room fell silent once again.
Although General Rick spoke calmly, everyone could feel the pressure radiating from him. His aura seeped into the room, causing the temperature to drop and making the atmosphere unbearably heavy.

After a moment, the academy doctor cleared his throat.
"Sir, I have conducted an extensive investigation into the infected students. This isn’t an ordinary illness—it’s an anomaly, and it’s spreading rapidly."
He adjusted his glasses before continuing.
"At present, five students have been infected. Although we have yet to identify the exact cause, our leading theory is that it is a mutated parasite. We’ve designated it as the Nexus Strain."
Several eyebrows rose around the table.
A parasite... inside the academy?
And a mutated one at that.
Everyone present knew one thing for certain—anything involving mutation rarely ended well.
General Rick shifted his gaze toward the man seated on his right.
"Vice Principal, investigate this matter. I’m entrusting you with resolving it."
"Yes, sir," Samuel replied with a slight bow.
