Chapter 3160: Chapter 3160
After cursing for a while, Jiang Yunmu finally cooled down, realizing that anger solved nothing
Only then did he tell Ye Liuyun the target he intended to strike.
“It’s a frontier star-system under the Eldest Prince’s jurisdiction!” Gao Yutang immediately informed Ye Liuyun. “Fire-Seal King still values the Eldest Prince highly. The master can plunder some resources, but it’s best not to seize any planets.”
Ye Liuyun nodded, then turned to Jiang Yunmu to negotiate terms. “I’ll help you move, but what do I get?”
“What do you want?” Jiang Yunmu asked straight out.
“Ask him for a grand formation master!” Ye Liuyun had no wish to waste energy on Jiang Yunmu, so he left the bargaining to Gao Yutang.
In the end, the two worked it out: Jiang Yunmu would petition the Myriad Transformation Sect for a senior formation master under the pretext of rebuilding the array protecting the Tianmen star-system’s great powers, and Ye Liuyun would handle the capture himself.
Once the deal was struck, Ye Liuyun headed straight for the Eldest Prince’s frontier system, ready to strike. He wasn’t worried about Jiang Yunmu reneging—if no formation master arrived, he’d simply turn his blade on Jiang Yunmu’s own holdings.
But the moment they teleported into the Eldest Prince’s territory and released Gao Yutang and the doppelgängers to plan their move, a cultivator with a formidable soul burst out of the void and flew straight at them.
Ye Liuyun had altered his appearance, so the newcomer couldn’t be sure which one was Ye Liuyun. Yet he recognized Gao Yutang and knew this had to be Ye Liuyun’s group.
So he called out, “Which of you is Mr. Ye? I come by order of the Eldest Prince, who has been waiting for you. His Highness has no wish to be your enemy. All resources here can be delivered in full—he only hopes to befriend Mr. Ye.”
“This Eldest Prince is a shrewd one,” Ye Liuyun marveled inwardly.
The cultivator was late Return-to-One Ninth Layer, and his soul force was almost a match for Ye Liuyun’s own. Ye Liuyun had thought his soul invincible; meeting this man, he realized how deep Fire-Seal Dynasty’s strength ran, and that he still had further to climb.
The Eldest Prince had first flaunted power without striking, then offered resources to win favor—clearly a cut above the other princes.
Ye Liuyun feared no one, but if the prince would simply hand over the resources, there was no need to fight.
“I am Ye Liuyun. We appreciate His Highness’s goodwill. Give us the resources and we’ll leave at once.”
As he spoke, he reverted to his true face. He figured they had already guessed he could change appearance, so concealment was pointless.
The cultivator’s eyes sharpened at the shift; he produced a small box and handed it over. Inside lay more than thirty storage rings. Ye Liuyun swept them with his divine sense—each brimmed with every sort of resource.
“Jiang Yuntian shows no stinginess at all,” Ye Liuyun thought, impressed.
The prince could have offered a token amount and Ye Liuyun would have walked away, yet he chose generosity—clearly a deliberate gesture of goodwill that would make it hard for Ye Liuyun to strike his other holdings later.
The cultivator then produced a voice talisman. “His Highness wishes to be friends with Mr. Ye, for easier contact in the future.”
Ye Liuyun offered one of his own. “Staying in touch is fine. Use mine—I don’t like others tracking me through their talismans.”
The cultivator said nothing more, took the talisman, activated a teleportation array to send it off, bowed to Ye Liuyun, and departed.
After he left, Ye Liuyun remarked to Gao Yutang, “This Eldest Prince, Jiang Yuntian, is far above Jiang Yunmu.”
Gao Yutang sighed. “Indeed. Otherwise why would even Fire-Seal King favor him so?”
“He’s already so strong—why cooperate with me at all?” Ye Liuyun asked, puzzled.
The question left Gao Yutang momentarily speechless. The prince had delivered the resources, so Ye Liuyun would not strike him. The other holdings were small fry, hardly worth fearing raids. Against the remaining princes and princesses, the Eldest Prince needed no outside help. Gao Yutang couldn’t fathom his intent.
Yet soon they received a message from the prince:
“Mr. Ye, I know you command a legion of demon soldiers who need both training and resources. The ferocious-beast world you found at Void-Pill Sect is about to be attacked by Jiang Yunyang. Would you care to join the spectacle?”
“He wants you to strip the other princes of their troops!” Gao Yutang grasped it at once.
Ye Liuyun nodded; only on this point could he cooperate with the Crown Prince.
But he was more curious about that beast-realm. “You know the place?”
Jiang Yuntian filled him in: “Exactly. When Jiang Yunyang marched out, a military alchemist and array master discovered the planet. He never attacked it—just treated it as a resource reserve. Now that his supplies are low, he plans to harvest the beasts.
I only guessed you’d wrecked the Void Pill Sect’s portal after seeing your two demonic flood dragons. If you’re interested, you can ally with the beasts and hit him from both sides. Otherwise, taking on Jiang Yunyang’s army alone would be rough.
His forces have refiners, array masters, and alchemists—how many you capture depends on you. I’ll throw in ore for a hundred thousand sets of armor and herbs to refine pills for a hundred-thousand-man army, as compensation. Deal?”
The offer left Ye Liuyun little room to refuse: he could train troops and harvest resources, and the demonic flood dragons might cooperate. A rare chance.
Still, he said, “I won’t kill Jiang Yunyang. All surrendered troops and resources are mine.”
“Fine,” Jiang Yuntian agreed without hesitation.
“I’ll have my sister deliver the goods. Jiang Yunyang lands on the beast planet in half a month.”
With that, Jiang Yuntian cut the sound talisman and went silent.
Moments later, Jiang Yunmo contacted Ye Liuyun and transmitted everything her brother had promised.
“When did you team up with Jiang Yuntian?” she asked.
Ye Liuyun gave no details. “I was going to raid the Crown Prince’s forces; he offered resources instead, so I didn’t have to.”
