Chapter 2972: Chapter 2972

At that moment, the other two divisions of the alien forces also began their advance. Five hundred thousand troops surged forward, while the warships of the Black Armor Legion charged at full speed.

The alien Bone Beasts had been caught off guard by the firepower of the combat vehicles and the spectral army, leaving them with no means to counterattack—merely stalling for time as they awaited their doom.

Thus, the remaining two alien armies rushed in urgently. Black Mountain immediately deployed the demonic legion to intercept the five hundred thousand troops. Meanwhile, the first doppelganger boarded the Spirit Cat warship to block the Black Armor Legion’s fleet. Ye Liuyun followed Black Mountain, ready to respond should the aliens alter their tactics.

When the demonic forces clashed with the five hundred thousand-strong army, Ye Liuyun swept his golden pupils over the battlefield and felt somewhat reassured. He instructed Black Mountain to proceed with the battle as planned while he observed from a distance with his golden vision.

As for the alien warships engaged by the first doppelganger, even after being blasted apart by the Spirit Cat vessel, they attempted a sneak attack using cloaked alien elites. However, the doppelganger unleashed the ancient demonic legion along with several demonic guards, effortlessly eliminating the ambushers.

Among them was a three-eyed alien, instantly slain by a beam of white light from the doppelganger. Though the alien had tried to retaliate with its own beam, the distance was too great—its attack never reached the doppelganger before it was struck down.

Another red-armored alien, boasting formidable soul power, attempted an ambush, but his strength paled in comparison to the doppelganger’s, who swiftly devoured his essence.

Realizing the futility of stealth, the Black Armor Legion abandoned covert tactics and ordered their troops to assemble for open battle.

Once they emerged, Ye Liuyun felt even more at ease. Their forces numbered barely over five hundred at the Unity Realm—nowhere near the might of the ancient demonic legion, which even included warriors at the third level of Unity. Even with their sturdy physiques, the Black Armor aliens stood no chance.

And that wasn’t even accounting for the "surprise" the combat vehicles had in store for them.

The first doppelganger wasted no time. Before the Black Armor Legion could fully form their battle lines, the combat vehicles were unleashed, raining destruction upon them.

The Black Armor commander frowned. They had already received reports of the Bone Beasts being decimated by these massive orbs—yet they hadn’t expected Ye Liuyun’s forces to still possess such weapons.

The moment the combat vehicles opened fire, the aliens witnessed the devastating power of these war machines and immediately ordered a retreat. But the ancient demonic forces gave chase, relentlessly pursuing them while detaching squads to cut off their escape. The combat vehicles continued their barrage, inflicting heavy casualties in moments.

Seeing no way to escape, the commander immediately ordered his soldiers to turn and charge toward the ancient demon army, intending to engage them in close combat. Once the battle descended into chaos, the firepower vehicles would lose their effectiveness.

Yet under the relentless barrage of the firepower vehicles, the black-armored legion suffered heavy casualties, with most soldiers unable to break through the blockade of energy cannons.

Even the few alien soldiers who managed to slip past were no match for the ancient demons—they couldn’t even get close before being obliterated by the demon elites.

"It’s over!" The commander of the black-armored legion foresaw their inevitable fate.

Without hesitation, he ordered his troops to scatter and flee—those who could escape, would.

But the First Doppelganger immediately released Hei Yan and the elite demon guards, commanding them to hunt down the alien commander. Meanwhile, the encircling demon forces tightened their formation, and additional demon soldiers were deployed to intercept, forming multiple layers of an inescapable siege.

The First Doppelganger himself joined the fray, slaughtering the black-armored soldiers who had slipped past the firepower vehicles and devouring their soul energy.

Once the alien forces had completely dispersed, the firepower vehicles—unable to find concentrated targets—ceased their bombardment, leaving the demon army to finish the job.

The black-armored legion had already lost all morale after witnessing the devastating firepower and sensing the overwhelming threat of the demon elites—long before their commander gave the order to scatter.

Their commander was swiftly eliminated by Hei Yan and his demon guards, who sealed off all possible escape routes. Not a single fleeing soldier could break through.

In the end, the black-armored legion met total annihilation.

Ye Liuyun estimated that with this legion destroyed, the alien forces would have few main armies left. Even if they relied on their ability to grow stronger through devouring, it would take them years to rebuild an army of this caliber. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

The same alien main force that had once forced them into retreat now proved shockingly weak.

"Looks like my army has grown far stronger than I realized," Ye Liuyun mused.

He had initially worried that confronting these elite alien legions would inflict heavy losses on his forces.

The battlefield on the demon army’s side was much harder-fought, as they deliberately avoided deploying their firepower chariots.

Ye Liuyun had planned it this way—to make the alien forces believe their chariots were in short supply, luring them into underestimating the demons in the next battle.

The demon troops relied on ordinary war chariots, puppet beasts, and energy cannons for defense at first. Only after whittling down the alien army by a hundred thousand did they unleash a few Spirit Cat Battleships to bombard the enemy before finally charging in for the kill.

Seeing that the aliens had no further reinforcements to throw into the fight, Ye Liuyun released thirty skeleton puppets—half of them charging straight for the enemy commanders, the other half carving a path through the alien ranks for the demon army.

These puppets, at the third level of the Unity Realm, tore through the alien forces like a scythe through wheat, slaughtering them effortlessly. The aliens had no means to counter them, and their formations crumbled under the puppets’ onslaught.

Some alien commanders ordered their soldiers to launch soul attacks against Ye Liuyun, but he didn’t even bother defending—except against the Three-Eyed Aliens, wary of their potential ambushes.

Even the Three-Eyed Aliens at the Dominator Realm posed no threat; he could easily obliterate them with his blade intent and the power of heaven and earth, without even resorting to his black-and-white light.

Suddenly, Hei Shan unleashed Sha Ying and the thirty ancient demon guards, sending them alongside the puppets to breach the enemy lines. The alien forces stood no chance, their defenses shattered in moments.

However, Ye Liuyun and his two clones noticed something: among the multiple alien armies sent this time, the number of Three-Eyed Aliens was unusually low.

*Could they have already exhausted their Three-Eyed forces? Or perhaps the aliens have withdrawn them all to focus on strengthening their power?* he speculated silently.

After slaying the commander of the five hundred thousand-strong army, Ye Liuyun continued rampaging through the alien ranks with his skeleton puppets, honing his blade intent and mastery of heaven, earth, and spatial forces—all while cutting down swathes of enemy soldiers.

The demon armies pressed their advantage, relentlessly pursuing the fleeing aliens as reports of victory poured in. The outcome of this battle was already decided—their triumph was assured.

Even if the aliens suddenly threw in another main force now, they were ready. The Ancient Demon Legion, the alien legion, and hundreds of thousands of human troops could be mobilized at any moment to meet the threat.
