Chapter 2888: Chapter 2888

The Wan family’s beast facility was vast, filled with ferocious creatures restrained by arrays. The beasts could see each other but remained isolated, unable to touch or hear one another.

The clone scanned the area and noted the staggering number of beasts—thousands of them. Many had reached the Unity Realm, and among them, three had even attained the second level of Unity. If Qiong Qi managed to incite them all, the Wan family would undoubtedly face chaos.

Several disciples bustled about, some delivering spirit stones to the beasts to aid their cultivation. The stronger the beasts grew, the more potent they became as medicinal ingredients, so the family provided them with resources.

Others used specialized tools to extract blood from the beasts for alchemy. Trapped by the arrays, the creatures couldn’t move or resist, forced to endure the disciples’ exploitation.

A few disciples even carved organs from the beasts, leaving them to regenerate with their own vital energy.

Though the clone couldn’t hear the beasts’ cries, their agonized expressions stirred pity within him.

*"Qiong Qi seems surprisingly docile?"* the elder remarked as they walked, glancing at Wan Congshan.

*"Indeed. According to the martial cultivator who brought it in, Qiong Qi was raised among humans from a young age, so it’s already accustomed to obedience,"* Wan Congshan replied smoothly.

The elder studied Qiong Qi, finding it remarkably tame—nothing like the unruly beasts he was used to. Still, he placed it inside an array, unwilling to risk leaving it unrestrained.

*"Can you still get out?"* the clone transmitted silently to Qiong Qi.

*"Don’t worry. A simple array like this won’t hold me. Just hide near an alchemy hall with fire and wait for me,"* Qiong Qi assured.

The clone didn’t respond further, following Wan Congshan as the elder escorted them out.

Pleased with the rare beast acquisition, the elder recorded Wan Congshan’s contribution and informed him of the merit points he’d earned.

Relieved that his token hadn’t raised suspicion, Wan Congshan exchanged a few pleasantries, thanked the elder, and left the facility with Ye Liuyun’s clone in tow.

Once they were a safe distance away, Ye Liuyun stashed Wan Congshan back into his spatial world to avoid recognition by any Wan family members. Then, he headed straight for one of the family’s alchemy halls.

The renowned weapon-forging and alchemy halls of the Wan Family were all built near natural fire sources, harnessing the flames to refine weapons and elixirs. Qiong Qi had deliberately instructed Ye Liuyun to arrive early, clearly indicating his plan to seize the flames here.

After being confined within the formation, Qiong Qi quietly observed the demonic beasts while covertly unraveling the array. However, with numerous disciples bustling about, he couldn’t act recklessly. Moreover, powerful cultivators occasionally swept the area with their divine senses, preventing him from directly attacking the working disciples. So once the formation was cracked, he patiently bided his time.

It wasn’t until dusk fell that the disciples gradually retreated to rest. Only when the area was completely deserted did Qiong Qi finally make his move. Instead of rushing into large-scale actions, he immediately began tracing an illusionary formation in the air—one capable of blocking divine sense detection and muffling sound—enveloping the entire Devil Beast enclosure within its influence.

By now, most of the beasts had already entered a meditative state, absorbing spirit stones to replenish their strength. Having been imprisoned for so long, they had learned the routine of this place.

Initially, some beasts had resisted improving their power, unwilling to become tools of the Wan Family. But even if they refused to cultivate, the Wan Family wouldn’t spare them. Now, most had resigned themselves to fate, so none noticed Qiong Qi’s actions. He didn’t revert to human form either—instead, he let out a low growl.

The formations trapping the beasts only prevented their voices from escaping, not the other way around. The sudden roar immediately drew the attention of every beast in the enclosure.

With deliberate swagger, Qiong Qi stepped out of his own formation and strode toward the three strongest beasts—those at the Unity Realm’s second level.

The demonic beasts stared at him in astonishment, baffled by how he had escaped. After a brief silence, some roared at him in demand, while others whimpered pleadingly, all begging to be freed. But with the formations in place, their voices couldn’t carry beyond their cages.

Even without hearing them, Qiong Qi understood their desperation. He growled again, assuring them not to worry—he would release them all.

The beasts instantly stirred with excitement, their eyes alight with hope as they watched him.

Even the three Unity Realm beasts regarded the approaching Qiong Qi with curiosity.

Ignoring the others for now, Qiong Qi first addressed a fire fox: *"I’m freeing all the beasts here to strike back at the Wan Family and plunder their resources. If you’re willing to acknowledge me as your master, I’ll release you immediately."*

The fire fox glanced at Qiong Qi’s cultivation—only at the seventh level of the Dominator Realm—and hesitated, clearly unimpressed.

Without wasting another word, Qiong Qi moved on to the next beast.

Trapped within their formations, the beasts couldn’t communicate unless Qiong Qi extended his divine sense to them. Left with no choice, they could only watch helplessly from their cages.

The next target for Qiong Qi was the Iron Ox, a metallic beast. Without hesitation, it agreed immediately, and Qiong Qi forged a contract with it, swiftly dismantling the restraining array to set it free.

The moment the Iron Ox was released, it let out a thunderous roar and sprinted around the entire base, stretching its limbs. The sight filled all the other ferocious beasts with envy.

Next was a Silver-armored Scale Tiger.

As soon as Qiong Qi stated its intentions, the Scale Tiger understood. The Fire Fox had refused to submit, so Qiong Qi left it trapped, while the Iron Ox had agreed and was instantly liberated.

Though these beasts were not highly intelligent, they weren’t foolish either. They quickly realized that siding with Qiong Qi not only meant freedom but also a chance for revenge against the Wan family, who had long tormented them. The Scale Tiger wasted no time in agreeing and was promptly freed by Qiong Qi.

"Move around and prepare to slaughter those Wan family members!" Qiong Qi reminded it.

Meanwhile, the Fire Fox watched in dismay, desperately yowling at Qiong Qi, though its cries went unheard. Qiong Qi noticed its agitation but ignored it entirely, continuing to release the other beasts one by one, securing their allegiance.

Afterward, Qiong Qi temporarily stored the freed beasts within its spatial realm, allowing them to roam freely inside. The illusion array it had set up here could only conceal so much—too many beasts or too much noise would arouse suspicion among the elders outside.

Soon, the arrays around the Fire Fox were completely empty, leaving the creature alone, howling in despair. None of the other beasts paid it any mind. It had become a cautionary tale, left trapped in the array as a warning to all.
