Chapter 2850: Chapter 2850

The test flights of the Vermilion Bird and the Falconhawk attracted a pack of wolves from the nearby area. Though these wolves weren’t particularly high in cultivation, their numbers were substantial—over fifty—and they had already adapted to the oppressive gravity of the region, allowing them to move with startling speed.

Ye Liuyun immediately released the women from his spatial world, letting them acclimate to the crushing pressure as a form of body tempering. Everyone in his spatial realm had been focusing on strengthening their souls and physical bodies, so despite their initial surprise and brief disorientation upon emerging, none of them collapsed under the weight.

He and his doppelganger also summoned the four Unity Realm experts—the Demon Vine, Black Mountain, Black Tiger, and Liao Tianyang—so they could adjust to the environment. This way, they wouldn’t be at a disadvantage if they had to face other Unity Realm opponents later.

With their powerful divine senses, the group quickly detected the encroaching wolves and prepared for battle. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"These wolves aren’t particularly strong—most are only at the first or second level of the Dominator Realm—so they’re perfect for practice. But don’t let your guard down!" Ye Liuyun warned.

Truthfully, no one needed the reminder. The sheer size of the wolves was enough to put them on edge. Each beast was colossal, dwarfing even the largest of their own demonic beasts.

With a thunderous roar, the Stone Ape was the first to reveal its true form—three heads, six arms, and six weapons swinging wildly as it charged forward. Once petrified, the oppressive gravity no longer affected it. Standing over a hundred zhang tall, its massive frame matched the scale of the local direbeasts.

The other demonic beasts followed suit, shifting into their true forms and surging ahead, including Black Mountain and the Demon Vine. The Dragon Maiden’s bloodline pressure alone made the wolves hesitate before they even closed in, planting doubt in their minds—had they picked the wrong prey?

But when they saw the "true dragon" before them was so small, their hesitation gave way to greed, and they continued their advance.

Ye Liuyun, his doppelganger, and Liao Tianyang positioned themselves around the women, shielding them as they pushed forward under the heavy pressure to engage the weaker wolves.

The Stone Ape, a primordial beast by nature, moved with effortless grace in this environment. The moment it crashed into the front lines, its massive club smashed down with a series of bone-shaking *thuds*, flattening the leading wolves.

Lei Ming and the Dragon Maiden clashed head-on with several of the larger wolves. Their indomitable physiques made injuries a non-issue—even if they took a hit, their bodies remained unscathed.

The Nine-Headed Demon Dragon, the Vermilion Bird, and the Falconhawk attacked from above, swiftly eliminating their targets before circling to cut off the wolves’ retreat, ensuring none escaped.

Black Tiger and White Tiger relied purely on brute strength, slamming into two massive wolves with bone-jarring force. Little Bluefrost instantly froze one solid with her Power of Frost, while Scarlet Lotus, after testing the waters by draining one wolf’s bloodline energy, found the beasts’ vitality so potent that she couldn’t stop—one after another, she continued her relentless absorption...

Then all the demonic beasts turned the tables, encircling the wolf pack to prevent their escape, allowing Scarlet to absorb as much power of bloodline as possible before distributing it among them.

The Demon Vine’s strength remained unaffected here, so it disdained attacking these low-level beasts and simply watched from the sidelines as they sparred.

The wolves targeting Ye Liuyun and his group, however, saw the humans as nothing more than prey and lunged at them without hesitation.

Though the women struggled with their movements, they still fought back as best they could, weaving through the wolves’ attacks. Ye Liuyun and his doppelgänger exchanged brutal punches with the beasts. Despite their low cultivation, the wolves’ sheer weight and natural strength made them formidable opponents. While they couldn’t overpower Ye Liuyun, they weren’t completely crushed by his strikes either.

Axing, Piaoyun, Qingyan, and Lin Fei’er had to pair up, two against one, just to hold their ground against a single wolf. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to withstand the beasts’ relentless assaults.

After a series of thunderous clashes, the wolves that had attacked Ye Liuyun’s group lay scattered, most severely wounded. Scarlet immediately moved in to drain their power of bloodline, while the Vermilion Bird helped the other demonic beasts devour their spiritual energy. Only then did the beasts carve out their cores, keeping them as cultivation resources.

After this battle, Ye Liuyun and his companions had adapted significantly to the oppressive gravity of the place. Even the women, who had initially struggled to move, had pushed their limits in the heat of danger. Now, after fighting desperately, their movements flowed much more smoothly. Still, they could only replenish their depleted energy using spirit stones or their own innate power.

Ye Liuyun gave them some time to recover before leading the group to explore the surrounding area. Scarlet, meanwhile, distributed the power of bloodline she had absorbed among the demonic beasts.

She had only taken a small portion for herself, wary of advancing too quickly and destabilizing her foundation. The Vermilion Bird, too, focused on boosting the others’ spiritual strength without absorbing any for itself.

To conserve energy and avoid drawing the attention of more powerful beasts, the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon, the Vermilion Bird, and the Falcon all took human form, refraining from flight.

Ye Liuyun and his group swept through the area near the entrance, relying on his Golden Pupils to locate more beasts. Everyone had their chance to train, growing increasingly accustomed to the crushing pressure.

Not only did Ye Liuyun allow the Ten Thousand Gods Token and his core to absorb the mystic energy here, but he and his doppelgänger also channeled it into their spatial worlds.

The other demonic beasts did the same, storing the energy for future use. Only Liang Xue and the other women, unable to absorb mystic energy, refrained from gathering it into their spatial realms.

After clearing out some beasts and securing their territory, Ye Liuyun had the Falcon carry him into the air, where he scanned the secret realm with his Golden Pupils.

After a thorough survey, he finally spotted the cultivators who had fled into the realm earlier.

They had gathered together and occupied a mountaintop, establishing themselves as rulers of the territory—clearly too afraid to venture out. However, judging by their abundant spiritual energy, they must have brought ample cultivation resources with them.

Their numbers weren’t large—just over fifty in total. Among them were ten martial cultivators at the Unity Realm and over forty at the ninth level of the Dominator Realm.

Yet their position wasn’t deep within the secret realm. From afar, Ye Liuyun’s golden pupils caught sight of a dark pool at the heart of the realm, though he couldn’t make out any fearsome beasts lurking within.

The same was true for several other locations—his golden vision was obstructed, likely due to some kind of concealing formation.

He did, however, spot the beasts deeper in the realm, some even at the ninth level of the Dominator Realm. The further inward one went, the stronger the creatures became.

After surveying the general situation, Ye Liuyun signaled the falcon to descend. For now, they could only fly within their own claimed territory, not daring to trespass into the airspace of other beasts. If they encountered a powerful avian predator, the falcon and other demonic beasts would likely suffer.

The creatures here could absorb mystic energy at will, replenishing their spiritual reserves instantly. In contrast, the Vermilion Bird and the falcon not only consumed energy rapidly but also hadn’t adapted to absorbing mystic energy. For the time being, a direct confrontation was out of the question.
