Chapter 2829: Chapter 2829

"Break through the formation at full force!" The enemy commander barked urgently, spurring the rear troops to launch a desperate rescue.

With a wave of his hand, Ye Liuyun signaled the demon army to advance.

The demonic legions moved instantly, their perfectly synchronized ranks marching forward with thunderous footsteps that made the very earth tremble. What remained of the imperial vanguard was swallowed almost instantaneously.

Though the enemy’s 200,000-strong rear guard spared no effort in bombarding the trap formation and soon shattered it, fewer than ten thousand soldiers emerged alive from the carnage. The ground was carpeted with charred corpses piled thick, their deaths gruesome beyond words.

"For our galaxy! Resist the demon invasion! All forces, attack!"

The enemy commander’s eyes burned with fury at the sight. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"Kill! Wipe out every last demon!"

Leading the charge himself, he rallied his remaining troops toward Ye Liuyun’s forces, disregarding Chi Lian entirely as his army surged forward.

Yet he hadn’t anticipated Chi Lian teleporting repeatedly among his troops through the twenty-odd miniature teleportation and defensive arrays Qiong Qi had prepared—each jump allowing her to drain their lifeblood energy at will.

"Martial artists in the rear, what are you waiting for? Engage!" The commander immediately redirected the martial artists to intercept Chi Lian while pressing forward with his main force.

Spotting the approaching martial artists whose lifeblood energy surpassed ordinary soldiers’, Chi Lian abandoned her pursuit of the army to harvest these richer targets instead.

"Tian Dao, now!" Ye Liuyun commanded.

Ye Tiandao led the elite martial artists in a lightning charge, cleaving into enemy lines. Close behind came Ye Liuyun’s beast legion—the Vermilion Bird and White Tiger divisions—ripping a gaping hole through the opposing forces.

The frost energy they unleashed melted instantly against the Vermilion Bird’s flames.

"ROAR!"

The Tiger-headed Beast King let out a thunderous roar, leading the demon army in a relentless charge. The war chariots and puppet beasts swiftly seized the breach created by Ye Tiandao’s blade, widening the gap as they surged forward.

Several giant demons charged ahead, swinging their spiked clubs in sweeping arcs, clearing a path for the demonic forces behind them.

The battlefield erupted in deafening war cries as the two armies clashed.

Suddenly, thousands of Spirit Cat battleships materialized in the sky, raining devastating bombardments upon the imperial forces below. Each strike obliterated swathes of soldiers, shattering their formations and reducing their ranks to chaos.

Some soldiers summoned frost energy, erecting icy barriers in a desperate attempt to defend themselves. But their strength was pitifully inadequate against the relentless barrage from the battleships.

By now, the imperial army had lost even their numerical advantage, fighting only to stave off the demonic invasion.

"Silver Armor Legion, advance!" The commander barked another order, unleashing the elite Silver Armor warriors.

Ye Tiandao reacted instantly, channeling his blade intent to wrench weapons from the hands of imperial soldiers before hurling them toward the Silver Armor ranks. His doppelgänger followed suit with another devastating wave of blade energy.

In just two strikes, half of the Silver Armor Legion was annihilated, the survivors too demoralized to pose any real threat.

With a flick of his wrist, Ye Tiandao signaled several ninth-level Dominator martial artists, who surged forward to finish off the remaining Silver Armor troops.

Before long, Chi Lian teleported back to Ye Liuyun’s side. The martial artists who had attacked her—hundreds of them—had been drained into withered husks. Only when she could absorb no more did she return to release some of the accumulated energy.

Ye Liuyun and his companions observed the battlefield while absorbing the power of bloodline she transmitted.

On the frontlines, the demon army gradually formed a semicircular encirclement, tightening the noose around the imperial forces.

As for the martial artists, they proved utterly ineffective. By the time they reached the front, the Spirit Cat battleships had already decimated their numbers. Those who made it were swiftly cut down by war chariots, puppet beasts, and energy cannons.

Unaccustomed to the chaos of battle—where attacks came from all directions without warning—they couldn’t even rely on their spiritual senses to react in time. Their lack of coordination made them easy prey, falling even to ordinary demon soldiers.

The two sides were already locked in fierce combat. Ye Tiandao had engaged the enemy commander in a one-on-one duel, while the Spirit Cat battleships had withdrawn to encircle the rear of their forces, cutting off any escape routes.

Just as the battle’s outcome seemed decided, a faint smirk curled at the corners of Ye Liuyun’s lips. His gaze lifted toward the starry expanse above, and with a spatial shift, he teleported his doppelganger into the void of space.

There, emerging from two small skiffs, descended two teams of martial cultivators—over a hundred in each group. Led by several ninth-level Dominators, their ranks were filled mostly with seventh and eighth-level experts.

Disguised as ordinary martial vessels, they had been lurking like spectators drawn to the spectacle. Now, they prepared to strike against both the demon army and Ye Liuyun’s forces below.

The doppelganger, teleported near one team, instantly activated temporal stasis. Frozen in time, the cultivators stood helpless as he methodically branded each with a slave seal.

Once finished, time resumed its flow, and in perfect synchronization, the doppelganger then shifted Ye Liuyun himself into space. Their golden pupils flashed in flawless coordination—a dance of spatial manipulation.

The cultivators, poised for a unified assault on Ye Liuyun’s position, barely had time to brace before he froze time again. One by one, they too fell under his control, branded with the same inexorable seals.

In moments, both teams—over two hundred strong—were his.

Returning to the battlefield, they found the remnants of the imperial forces cornered by the alien encirclement. With no escape, the soldiers clustered together, summoning frigid energy to erect towering ice walls, sealing themselves inside in a desperate bid to stall for reinforcements.

Ye Liuyun kept only those among his followers who wielded ice affinity at his side, storing the rest in his spatial realm. Leading this specialized group forward, they began draining the glacial energy radiating from the trapped soldiers.

The demonic legion had already been withdrawn, leaving only war chariots, energy cannons, the Spirit Cat fleet, and his newly acquired martial experts to maintain the siege.

Then began the slow, methodical harvest. Patient as a spider, Ye Liuyun absorbed every wisp of frost the soldiers exuded, letting them exhaust themselves drop by drop.

Occasional martial cultivators attempted harassing strikes, only to be cut down under Ye Tiandao’s command of the enslaved experts.

Fifteen days passed—a war of attrition against the icebound soldiers until, resources depleted, their walls finally collapsed in surrender. Yet even then, Ye Liuyun showed no mercy. At his order, Chi Lian drained the life force from the remaining tens of thousands.

Some soldiers protested, shouting that surrender should spare their lives.

Ye Liuyun’s reply was ice itself: "You didn’t surrender willingly—you were broken. Had I not needed your frost energy, I’d have shattered your walls with a single stroke long ago.

Your only worth was prolonging your deaths to serve us. Blame the empire that sent you to die."
