Chapter 2781: Chapter 2781

The battlefield revealed a stark disparity in strength between the demonic forces and the alien invaders, with the latter exhibiting superior coordination and tactical discipline.

Yet Ye Liuyun observed that the demonic tribes weren’t without their own cunning. The small, newly arrived demonic warbands fought with relentless ferocity—launching hit-and-run assaults from all directions, refusing to retreat even after initial successes. They fought to the last man, preferring glorious annihilation over surrender, much to the frustration of the alien invaders.

Since the aliens’ landing, these demonic skirmishes had occurred over fifty times, each involving hundreds of demons ambushing the alien legions. The relentless attacks whittled down the invaders’ numbers, and thanks to Ye Liuyun’s covert interference, casualties among elite warriors remained roughly even on both sides.

The three-eyed aliens had become prime targets for the demons, who spared no effort to eliminate them on sight. Ye Liuyun, too, prioritized hunting them down. Of the original seven hundred three-eyed aliens, half had already been wiped out—most captured by Ye Liuyun himself, with only a fraction falling to the demons.

In response, the aliens assigned two red-armored warriors to guard each remaining three-eyed elite. Yet even this precaution failed to deter Ye Liuyun’s stealth strikes. He didn’t stop at the three-eyed—red-armored warriors also fell prey to his raids.

Half of the captured red-armored aliens were used to bolster the spiritual power of Ye Liuyun and his allies, while the other half replenished his own alien battalion.

Despite these setbacks, the alien forces expanded rapidly, seizing over a hundred planets and solidifying their foothold. Expelling them now would be a near-impossible task for the demons.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun’s demonic army advanced with surprising ease, encountering little resistance. Demons revered strength, and his formidable legion inspired many to willingly surrender. His shadow clones discreetly captured numerous high-ranking demons, assembling an elite unit that further amplified the army’s might, swelling its ranks with each passing day.

The clones also began systematically claiming demonic planets, their efficiency increasing steadily. Allies like Thunder Roar, the Demon Vine, and the Nine-Headed Netherdrake followed suit, harvesting worlds of their own. Empowered by spatial realm energies, they could now hold their own against eighth-level alien overlords, freeing Ye Liuyun from worries about their safety in battle.

While Thunder Roar and the others continued growing under Ye Liuyun’s guidance, the Demon Vine grew restless. Having absorbed enough demonic worlds, it craved fresh challenges. With Ye Liuyun’s main force engaged in few battles—and thus offering scant resources for its consumption—it volunteered to wreak havoc on the alien frontlines.

Ye Liuyun personally escorted it to planets with sparse alien garrisons. Together, they slaughtered every enemy warrior and soldier before swiftly claiming the world, leaving no time for the invaders to investigate.

The aliens, misinterpreting reports of the carnage, assumed the Demon Vine was some new botanical weapon deployed by the demons. They merely reinforced their weaker-held planets without altering their broader strategy.

But the Demon Vine had evolved into a force unto itself—especially with its lethal white beams. Alien attacks barely fazed its indomitable tendrils, rendering it virtually invincible on the battlefield.

However, after each battle, he would vanish without a trace. Even the demonic forces couldn’t locate him.

When the demonic side received word of the attacks, they recognized the work of Ye Liuyun’s demonic vine army. They had prior intelligence that the demonic vines had previously struck in another direction. Thus, the demons assumed they were allies and left them alone.

The demonic forces were indifferent toward Ye Liuyun’s demonic army, believing they would eventually join the fight against the alien invaders. Any resistance they encountered came from individual tribes acting on their own, as the demonic forces made no organized effort to oppose Ye Liuyun. Instead, they focused all their strength on battling the aliens.

After some preparation, the demonic forces mustered a fighting force of nearly 300,000 and launched an assault against the alien invaders.

Since the demons were scattered across various tribes, they sent the first wave to slow the aliens’ advance while the remaining tribes continued gathering forces, engaging the enemy in staggered waves.

Knowing they were outnumbered, the demons adopted a strategy of harassment and ambush. Even with 300,000 troops, they dispersed their forces to strike from multiple directions.

Surprisingly, their tactics proved effective. The aliens excelled at concentrated assaults, so the demons divided their forces—half fought to the last warrior, drawing the attention of the alien elites and wearing them down, while the other half wiped out several alien squads, securing victories.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Ye Liuyun captured over a thousand aliens and more than two hundred demonic elites. He sent the demonic fighters to Yu Xiaofeng’s demonic army while incorporating the alien captives into his own alien battalion.

In response, the aliens adjusted their strategy, consolidating their forces into several 500,000-strong legions that advanced in rotation. They left only a handful of soldiers and elites to guard the planets they had seized.

Seeing this, Ye Liuyun dispatched his doppelgänger to ambush the aliens from behind, eliminating their garrisons and reclaiming the occupied planets one by one.

The aliens sent scouting parties multiple times, but each time, the doppelgänger used time manipulation to capture their strongest warriors, leaving the rest bewildered and fleeing in panic.

This led Broken-Horned Blue Armor, the alien elder, to suspect that the demons had sent elite forces to attack their rear. As a result, the alien army grew cautious on the frontlines, shifting to a defensive stance—buying time for the demons to rally their forces.

The demons continued their guerrilla tactics, but with the aliens tightening their formation, the skirmishes became costly. Each clash ended in mutual attrition, essentially a battle of endurance between the elites of both sides.

A stalemate ensued. Meanwhile, Yu Xiaofeng’s demonic army advanced smoothly.

With the breathing room, the demons sent envoys to negotiate with Yu Xiaofeng. However, since Yu Xiaofeng couldn’t appear personally, Thunderclap and the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon acted as his representatives.

As divine beasts of the demonic race, they carried significant authority. In the end, the demons only secured an agreement that Yu Xiaofeng’s army would eventually aid them against the aliens, making no further demands. As for the demonic planets they absorbed, the demons merely requested they leave some behind rather than take everything.

To the demons, this powerful army had every right to claim resources. Leaving them a share was seen as a courtesy to their kin—more a plea than a demand.
