Chapter 2654: Chapter 2654

Wu Feng and his companions had been discussing whether to extract the Power of Origin from this place and take it back to their own planet. After all, this world had been ravaged by the alien invaders, leaving behind no valuable resources. Holding onto this barren planet served no purpose for them.

When they saw Mo Tianheng swoop in without a word and immediately start harvesting the Power of Origin, they were completely dumbfounded.

"Who the hell are you? Think you own this place?" one of the martial cultivators snapped, finally regaining his senses.

The group swiftly closed in on Mo Tianheng, their hostility palpable.

Mo Tianheng didn’t even bother glancing at them. With a cold indifference, he channeled his true essence and lashed out with a single palm strike.

The force behind his attack was overwhelming—not only was the purity of his true essence exceptional, but it was also infused with potent cosmic energy and demonic qi. Mo Tianheng’s mastery of cosmic energy was formidable to begin with, and now, amplified by the demonic qi, his strike carried an even more terrifying momentum.

Wu Feng and the others immediately sensed the sheer power behind the attack and didn’t dare underestimate it. They quickly joined forces to block the strike.

However, the dispersed demonic qi clouded their vision, and in that moment of confusion, Mo Tianheng seized the opportunity to launch a soul attack. The two martial cultivators at the front were instantly obliterated, their souls devoured without mercy.

Though Mo Tianheng had absorbed numerous souls recently, the greedy Ancient Demon had claimed most of them for itself. This time, not even a fraction of the two cultivators’ soul energy reached him. Instead, the Ancient Demon’s spirit grew stronger at an alarming rate.

Then, the scattered demonic qi suddenly twisted like living vines, coiling around the remaining martial cultivators.

Wu Feng, being slightly more powerful, sensed the encroaching demonic qi and swiftly dodged, avoiding direct contact. The others, however, were not as quick—by the time they realized what was happening, the tendrils had already ensnared them. They immediately channeled their true essence to repel the invasive energy.

Assuming it was just a minor nuisance, they prepared to retaliate against Mo Tianheng—until one of them suddenly felt the lingering demonic qi seep into his body.

"Demonic qi intrusion!" the cultivator shouted in alarm.

"Seal your true essence!"

Wu Feng rushed to his aid, instructing him to suppress his energy flow while he infused his own true essence to purge the invading demonic qi. But for the others, it was already too late.

They were careless, still channeling their vital energy to attack Mo Tianheng. But their strikes were effortlessly deflected by a single wave of his hand. By the time they realized what was happening, demonic energy had already infiltrated their core elixirs. The men immediately contorted in agony as they struggled against the corruption, but it was already too late.

"What the hell are you?" Wu Feng demanded, his voice thick with fury. "Why would you come here to steal our world’s primordial energy and slaughter us without hesitation?"

Mo Tianheng ignored him, merely giving Wu Feng a brief, assessing glance before striking again—this time, lacing his attack with the power of his bloodline.

He was experimenting, testing different strengths against Wu Feng as if he were nothing more than a training dummy.

The other warriors, realizing they were beyond saving, stopped resisting. Instead, they threw themselves at Mo Tianheng, buying time while shouting at Wu Feng and one other to flee—to get help. They knew they stood no chance against him.

Having survived invasions by foreign races before, these men had long embraced self-sacrifice. Death held little terror for them, especially when the outcome was already certain. Protecting their comrades wasn’t even a question.

Wu Feng gritted his teeth. As much as it pained him, if they all died here, no one would be left to warn the others.

"Go!" he barked.

The warrior he had saved earlier didn’t hesitate, immediately turning and sprinting toward the teleportation array with him.

Mo Tianheng had no intention of letting them escape—in his eyes, they were nothing but resources for his cultivation. But the remaining warriors, now burning their core elixirs and channeling every ounce of spatial energy they could muster, launched a desperate, all-out assault. They didn’t bother defending themselves.

By the time Mo Tianheng finished them off, Wu Feng and the other warrior had already reached the teleportation array. With a snarl, Mo Tianheng gathered his own spatial power and gave chase.

But the surviving warrior knew—if the array remained intact after their departure, Mo Tianheng might follow them straight to their homeworld.

"I’ll stay and destroy the array," he said decisively to Wu Feng. "We can’t lead him back. You go—warn the others!"

Wu Feng was their strongest warrior, their only hope. Sacrificing himself to ensure Wu Feng’s survival was the obvious choice. Without another word, he leapt out of the array just before activation.

"Let me do it!" Wu Feng shouted, but it was too late—he couldn’t stop him now.

The martial cultivator had already charged toward Mo Tianheng, harnessing the power of his spatial realm as he struck out with a palm strike to intercept him. That momentary delay was all Wu Feng needed to successfully teleport away.

"You’re courting death!"

Mo Tianheng roared in fury. He hadn’t expected someone to slip away right under his nose—especially the strongest cultivator among them. In a fit of rage, he unleashed a devastating palm strike wreathed in inky demonic energy, aiming straight for the martial cultivator.

Yet the man only sneered coldly. Burning his core, he erupted with every last ounce of his strength, slamming his palm toward the teleportation array while leaving his back completely exposed to Mo Tianheng.

He hadn’t even considered his own survival. His only thoughts were to ensure Wu Feng’s escape before destroying the array. If he had tried to defend against Mo Tianheng’s attack, there was no guarantee he could have blocked it—but he would have certainly lost his chance to wreck the teleportation formation.

With a thunderous *boom*, Mo Tianheng’s strike shattered the martial cultivator’s body, killing him instantly. But the teleportation array was also obliterated by the man’s final blow.

Mo Tianheng stared at the scene before him, momentarily moved. Yet after only a brief silence, he turned away and resumed extracting the origin energy.

Once he had taken it all, he collected the corpses of the fallen martial cultivators, intending to refine them—wasting nothing. Then, without delay, he continued toward the alien base.

Unaware that Ye Liuyun had already left the Sacred Sword Galaxy, he still planned to challenge him to a duel.

Meanwhile, Wu Feng, now teleported to safety, stood with bloodshot eyes. His companions had survived the alien onslaught, only to perish at the hands of their own kind—all to cover his retreat. *Now isn’t the time for grief. I can’t let their sacrifice be in vain.* He channeled his sorrow into resolve.

"Enemy attack! Seal the teleportation array!" Wu Feng barked through gritted teeth to the guards stationed there.

The defenders immediately shut down the formation.

Only when he was certain the array was completely sealed—and that Mo Tianheng hadn’t pursued—did Wu Feng drop to his knees, bowing toward the sky in silent farewell to his fallen brothers.

"What happened? Weren’t the aliens already driven out?" The surrounding martial cultivators rushed over, demanding answers.

After explaining the situation, Wu Feng swiftly ordered the reconstruction of the teleportation array, keeping only the link to the alliance open. He then dispatched messengers to urgently request reinforcements—powerful experts to safeguard them.

Upon receiving the news, the alliance acted without hesitation, sending Zhou Ning and Dian Qing. Along with these two formidable warriors, Lie Du also dispatched a slightly weaker martial cultivator to assess the situation firsthand.
