Chapter 2650: Chapter 2650

To prevent the alien race from launching another sneak attack using soul power, Ye Liuyun released the Vermilion Bird, cloaking it in an invisibility cloak to stand guard.

The Vermilion Bird’s soul power had grown formidable enough that unless the alien leader personally intervened, it could detect any approaching alien warriors well in advance.

As for the six red-armored aliens he had captured, Ye Liuyun made sure not to waste them. None of them had soul contracts with others, meaning even if he controlled them, no other aliens would notice.

He ordered them to return to the alien base as his spies, feeding him intelligence. First, he sent back four of them, instructing them to sow chaos within the alien ranks, inciting infighting.

After their departure, he equipped the remaining two with invisibility cloaks, warning them to stay hidden. Their mission was to observe the alien army’s movements and deployments from the shadows.

This was a precaution—if the first four were discovered and subjected to soul-searching, at least these two would remain undetected, ensuring he still had eyes on the enemy.

Once all six had left, Ye Liuyun retreated into his spatial realm to continue his cultivation.

Meanwhile, Xiao Xie, Liu Kui, and Wu Feng gathered everyone to reveal the truth, clearing up the misunderstanding while warning them to stay vigilant against the aliens’ soul attacks.

Now aware of the aliens’ schemes, the group grew even more resentful toward their enemies and more united among themselves.

Ye Liuyun, however, made no further moves, patiently waiting for the spies to report back.

Upon their return, the two cloaked aliens vanished without a trace. The other four, as expected, were quickly subjected to soul-searching by the alien soul masters, exposing Ye Liuyun’s plan before they could act.

But no matter how hard the aliens searched, they couldn’t find the remaining two. Their natural soul strength, combined with the invisibility cloaks, made them nearly undetectable.

Besides, they didn’t need to get close—monitoring the alien army’s movements from a distance was enough. Despite deploying numerous soul masters, the aliens failed to track them down.

Ye Liuyun wasn’t overly concerned about losing four spies—two were still in play. Soon, intel arrived: the aliens had gathered 1.4 million troops at their base, nearly their entire force.

Currently, an army of four hundred thousand troops is ready to march, their objective still being to intercept Ye Liuyun in advance.

Most of the outposts outside have already been withdrawn by the enemy, with only a few remaining to facilitate their covert operations. This was also why those six alien warriors were able to swiftly return to their base.

Moreover, the fact that the aliens have kept those outposts intact suggests they intend to continue sending forces for covert strikes.

Only after obtaining this intelligence did Ye Liuyun bid farewell to Xiao Xuan, Liu Kui, and Wu Feng, setting off once more toward the alien territory.

He couldn’t afford to wait until the four hundred thousand alien troops arrived and launched an assault on the ordinary five hundred thousand human soldiers. Yet, he also didn’t want the aliens to dismantle their remaining outposts.

The only solution was to pursue the aliens relentlessly, forcing them to retreat to their nearest outpost while he chased them down, seizing the opportunity to reclaim the outposts for himself.

Accordingly, he instructed the tiger-headed beastmen to adjust their combat tactics according to his plan. Meanwhile, cloaked in his invisibility mantle, he arrived at the nearest alien outpost, lying in wait for the enemy army.

Before long, the four hundred thousand alien troops dispatched by their leaders arrived.

However, the moment half their soldiers had teleported through the altar, Ye Liuyun launched a sudden attack.

The Nine-Headed Demon Dragon was tasked with obliterating the altar with beams of white light, cutting off the alien reinforcements. Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun unleashed his demonic army, focusing their assault on the alien soldiers through superior weaponry.

Caught off guard, the alien troops were no match for Ye Liuyun’s forces. After half their numbers were annihilated, they had no choice but to flee aboard a single warship.

Ye Liuyun deliberately allowed the demons to leave them an escape route, forbidding the falcon riders from pursuing. Once the remaining aliens at the outpost were wiped out, he ordered his troops to scour the battlefield and collect the essence energy. Only then did he withdraw his forces into his spatial realm, donning his invisibility mantle once more to head for the next alien outpost.

Ye Liuyun moved far faster than the alien warship. Even if he overtook it, he refrained from attacking, instead racing ahead to the next outpost.

There, another two hundred thousand troops had been preparing to reinforce the frontlines via the altar. Unbeknownst to them, the teleportation had been disrupted, forcing them to hastily reorganize their defenses while awaiting the return of their defeated comrades.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun observed their defensive measures from the shadows, biding his time for the perfect moment to strike.

Just as the defeated alien soldiers returned to their main forces, causing chaos in the camp, Ye Liuyun struck again.

This time, the Demon Vine and the Demon-Sealing Stele launched the first assault against the enemy commanders, while Ye Liuyun and his doppelganger targeted the alien altar. Soon after, the rest of the team joined the attack, and the demon army began unleashing their weapons.

Caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the demon forces, the aliens fell into disarray. Ye Liuyun and his allies focused on eliminating the enemy commanders, while the demon troops formed a semi-encirclement, herding the aliens like cattle.

Realizing they were no match for Ye Liuyun, the alien army began retreating once more. Those who had barely disembarked from their warships scrambled back aboard as the vessels immediately lifted off, fleeing toward the next stronghold.

By then, several of the alien high commanders had been slain. The remaining lesser leaders, seeing no point in resistance, hastily boarded their own ships with whatever soldiers they could gather and joined the retreat.

Ye Liuyun made no effort to attack or intercept the fleeing aliens. Instead, he ruthlessly cut down those who stubbornly resisted. This strategy only accelerated the enemy’s retreat. Post-battle calculations revealed that only a little over a hundred thousand alien soldiers had been eliminated.

However, the escaping forces were now scattered far and wide. As before, Ye Liuyun finished clearing the battlefield, absorbed the source energy, and then deployed a Falcon-class warship capable of carrying fifty thousand troops. He loaded it with a contingent of demon soldiers who had not participated in the earlier battle and set off in pursuit of the fleeing alien fleet.

With the Falcon’s speed, overtaking the alien ships would have been effortless. Yet Ye Liuyun deliberately held back, maintaining a steady pace as they shadowed the retreating enemy, trailing them at a leisurely distance.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun led his team to claim numerous smaller islands, expanding both his own and his allies’ spatial realms.

Only when the aliens neared their next stronghold did he recall everyone into the spatial world, boarding the Falcon to intercept them just as they landed. The demon forces launched another assault the moment the aliens touched down, simultaneously sending operatives to destroy their altar.
