Chapter 2644: Chapter 2644
Ye Liuyun also told Wu Feng, "We just drove out the invaders in our region. In our galaxy, the demonic races are part of our alliance against the alien forces. Humans, beastfolk, and demons all fight side by side there."
Hearing this, Wu Feng and the martial artists around him were stunned. "The demonic races fight alongside you against the invaders?"
"Exactly," Ye Liuyun confirmed. "One of our alliance’s deputy leaders is a demon!"
"Then... are these demons you brought all from your galaxy?" Wu Feng pressed, his tone laced with suspicion.
"Yes. Why do you ask?" Ye Liuyun found his question odd and probed further.
Wu Feng sighed heavily before explaining, "Here, the demons are nothing but traitors—they sided with the invaders the moment the war began. If not for their betrayal, we wouldn’t have suffered so terribly."
"Ah, I see now." Ye Liuyun finally understood the issue. But he quickly added, "However, I only brought one demonic army with me. Without reinforcements, I’m afraid—"
Before he could finish, Wu Feng cut in, "It doesn’t matter. Most of our worlds have already fallen to the invaders. The few of us here are the last remaining elite martial artists of the Sacred Blade Galaxy.
"Frankly speaking, what little strength we have left is considered formidable in these parts. There might still be stronger fighters scattered across other worlds, but after we formed our resistance alliance, many were wiped out preemptively. We’ve rarely encountered martial artists more powerful than us.
"So we couldn’t care less whether they’re demons or not. As long as they help us fight the invaders and preserve what’s left of humanity, we’re already grateful. We were ready to die for our cause—until you saved us."
As he spoke, Wu Feng and the other martial artists bowed deeply in gratitude. At the very least, his words showed reason and sincerity.
Ye Liuyun quickly stopped them. "We’ve only just defeated the invaders ourselves, so we understand your plight. Fighting them is our duty as well. We’re all human—helping each other is only natural. There’s no need for formalities.
"Since you don’t mind the demons’ aid, I’ll deploy the army immediately to prevent another attack. After that, you can brief me on the situation here."
"Good." Wu Feng wasted no more time on pleasantries, knowing the urgency of their circumstances.
Without delay, Ye Liuyun summoned the demonic army and issued a clear warning: the demons in this galaxy had defected to the invaders, and they were to show no mercy if encountered.
After instructing Qiong Qi and the other formation masters to set up defensive arrays, Ye Liuyun also had them construct a teleportation array connecting to the Silver Fox Star System.
The martial cultivators present were utterly stunned when they saw the sheer number of people housed within Ye Liuyun’s spatial world. They had assumed he only carried a few elite fighters with him, but never expected an entire army—and one composed of demonic cultivators whose auras far surpassed their own. The sight left them speechless.
Once the preparations were complete, Ye Liuyun turned to Wu Feng to gather information about the Holy Sword Star System.
The situation there was much the same. In the early stages of the alien invasion, no one had noticed anything amiss. At first, the aliens had only taken control of the demonic realms, using the demonic forces to launch attacks. By the time the local forces realized the truth, the alliance they formed was already focused on resisting the demons. But after both sides had exhausted each other in battle, the aliens struck, catching them completely off guard.
To make matters worse, their cultivation levels were far inferior to the aliens’. They had to rely on sheer numbers—ten times the enemy’s forces—just to hold their ground, essentially throwing lives into the meat grinder.
Their formation masters, artifact forgers, and alchemists were both unskilled and few in number, so even basic equipment like armor and weapons soon became scarce. Martial cultivators had to scavenge gear from the dead on the battlefield. Worse still, they couldn’t refine the demonic or alien cores, leaving them starved for resources as the war dragged on.
In contrast, the aliens not only boasted far superior strength but also had an abundance of equipment and supplies, allowing them to sweep through the star system with ease.
The Holy Sword Alliance had been forced into a relentless retreat from the heart of the star system all the way to this final stronghold, where they now stood with their backs against the wall. By this point, Wu Feng was the last remaining commander of the entire alliance.
The martial cultivators here, though strong, could have fled—but doing so would have doomed their families and clans to slaughter at the hands of the aliens. So they had resolved to make this their last stand, prepared to fight to the death. Then Ye Liuyun arrived, offering them a glimmer of hope.
"How many troops do the aliens have?" Ye Liuyun asked, cutting straight to the crucial details after hearing Wu Feng’s account.
"We don’t know for certain," Wu Feng admitted. "The force pursuing us has always been around two hundred thousand strong, but they constantly receive reinforcements—and every new soldier is at least at the Heavenly Unity First Level. Worse, they grow stronger by devouring the corpses of their own fallen and ours after battle..."
Wu Feng could only sigh in resignation at their predicament.
Their remaining force of over two thousand warriors was nearly out of supplies—ammunition exhausted, resources depleted. They didn’t even have enough to replenish their depleted energy reserves, and frankly, they were too embarrassed to ask Ye Liuyun for help.
Upon hearing this, Ye Liuyun immediately produced several large cauldrons forged from energy-conversion stones and handed them over. "Use these to harvest energy from the alien cores," he instructed.
The warriors gasped in awe.
"Something like this actually exists?"
"Damn, if you’d shown up sooner, we wouldn’t have been beaten this badly!"
They couldn’t help but marvel at the treasure before them. In the past, they had either burned the alien corpses or, in their haste to retreat, left the battlefield littered with spoils—gifts the enemy had gladly taken.
Wu Feng wasted no time assigning a team to collect the alien remains. Then, turning to Ye Liuyun, he asked about his situation.
Ye Liuyun briefed him on the state of the Silver Fox Galaxy. Wu Feng sighed heavily. "Things here might be even worse than what you’ve faced. If these aliens pull out, most of our planets will be wiped from existence."
Ye Liuyun placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Don’t dwell on that yet. First, we drive them out and protect whoever’s left. But the intel we have isn’t enough to plan our next move—I need to capture one of their commanders, get a clearer picture of their forces."
Wu Feng’s expression darkened. "Be careful. Those red-armored bastards have terrifying psychic strength. We’ve tried taking them down before—only to get our minds shredded. Don’t underestimate them."
Ye Liuyun nodded. "I know they’re strong. But don’t worry, I’ve got a plan."
With that, he handed command of the garrison to the half-beast warlord, Tigerhead, then draped his invisibility cloak over his shoulders and vanished toward the enemy camp.
Meanwhile, the Tiger King began deploying equipment, setting up defenses, and releasing a flock of falcons to patrol the perimeter.
