Chapter 2642: Chapter 2642
The Silver Fox Galaxy was now thriving under stable development, leaving Ye Liuyun with no lingering concerns. At last, he could set off with peace of mind to search for resources.
After bidding farewell to Barlo and the alliance, he activated the teleportation array and arrived at the western fringes of the known universe. There, he summoned his falcon and, as was their habit, engaged in their usual race of spatial mastery while hurtling beyond the boundaries of the Silver Fox Galaxy.
Meanwhile, under the persuasion of the Ancient Demon, Mo Tianheng had also begun exploring in the same direction as Ye Liuyun.
The Ancient Demon had initially wanted him to devour some of the Silver Fox Galaxy’s primordial energy, just to stir up trouble for Ye Liuyun. But Mo Tianheng was reluctant, and the Ancient Demon, fearing he might face Ye Liuyun too soon and suffer defeat, didn’t press the matter. Instead, they wandered aimlessly—coincidentally drifting toward the same region.
Ye Liuyun still didn’t know the name of this new galaxy, but with the enhanced vision of his golden pupils, he could already make out its distant silhouette. Its shape appeared far more elongated than that of the Silver Fox Galaxy.
What delighted him, however, was that its spatial density seemed comparable to that of the Bison Galaxy. From this distance, he could only gauge the brightness of its intact planets, estimating their approximate numbers.
Even with his full spatial power and the falcon’s utmost speed, the journey still took nearly two months.
By the final stretch, Ye Liuyun had already spotted aliens on the brightest planet. The local martial cultivators were locked in fierce combat with them.
"Looks like this is another galaxy under alien invasion," he mused. "But the planets here are in much better shape than those in the Silver Fox system!"
With a determined exhale, he pushed his spatial abilities to the limit, hoping to arrive sooner and lend aid to the embattled warriors.
The only problem was, his forces consisted solely of the demon army. He’d have to find a way to convince the locals to accept them first.
In the last few days of travel, he alternated between riding the falcon and observing the planet’s situation with his golden eyes.
The battle was overwhelmingly one-sided. Though the alien forces were few in number, their strength was formidable. A mere hundred thousand troops, yet even the weakest among them were at the Celestial Realm, while those at the Dominator Realm made up nearly a third of their ranks.
Leading them were red-scaled aliens—a breed Ye Liuyun knew possessed formidable soul power. With such commanders controlling the army, their grip over the alien soldiers was likely ironclad.
And that meant using soul attacks against them would be... problematic.
Fortunately, the strongest alien he encountered was no more than a third-level Dominator, so the situation wasn’t completely hopeless.
What worried him, though, was that the aliens had already pushed to the edge of this star system. There was a good chance they had seized control of most of its planets. Yet, strangely, the planets here remained intact—something that puzzled Ye Liuyun. He couldn’t figure out why.
As for the local cultivators, even first-level Dominators were rare, making them no match for the alien invaders. Saving this star system seemed nearly impossible unless there were stronger fighters hiding on other planets.
Ye Liuyun scanned the surrounding worlds, only to find them either deserted or populated by warriors below the Immortal Realm. This discovery deepened his unease.
"Looks like they’ve already gathered all their Immortal Realm and above fighters here to resist the aliens," he muttered.
Every day, he watched helplessly as the aliens slaughtered human cultivators, desperate to intervene. But he and the falcon had already pushed their spatial traversal abilities to the limit—they couldn’t go any faster.
Even with his golden pupils allowing him to witness the battlefield in real time, all he could do was seethe with frustration as the human forces dwindled under the alien onslaught.
Then, from a nearby planet, a sudden collapse erupted. A blood-soaked cultivator burst forth from the wreckage.
Ye Liuyun’s golden eyes instantly recognized the figure. "Huh? Isn’t that Mo Tianheng? He’s already reached first-level Dominator?"
Unbeknownst to him, Mo Tianheng had drained the planet’s source energy before capturing countless beasts and human warriors, dumping their blood into a massive pool for absorption—hence his gruesome appearance.
At the time, Ye Liuyun had been too focused on the alien conflict to pay much attention. A quick scan had revealed the planet lacked source energy, so he’d dismissed it.
Now, however, Mo Tianheng—or rather, the ancient demon’s soul within him—spotted Ye Liuyun.
Seeing that Ye Liuyun’s cultivation surpassed Mo Tianheng’s, the demon whispered, "Find out where he’s headed. For now, hold back. It won’t be long before you surpass him. Then you can settle the score."
Mo Tianheng gave a curt nod and charged toward Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun attempted to contact Mo Tianheng through their soul contract, only to discover it had vanished. Their previous agreement had merely been a pact of equals, established solely for communication without any binding obligations.
Yet Mo Tianheng had unilaterally dissolved it, stirring suspicion in Ye Liuyun. However, preoccupied with the alien threat, he brushed it aside and refocused on the ongoing battle.
The two soon crossed paths again, and Mo Tianheng greeted Ye Liuyun as casually as before.
Without pausing, Ye Liuyun urgently called out, "Deal with the aliens first!" before darting past Mo Tianheng in a flash.
Seizing the moment, the Ancient Demon goaded, "The brat’s got some nerve, ignoring you like that. And you still consider him a friend?"
Mo Tianheng frowned, a flicker of displeasure darkening his gaze.
He had witnessed the alien assault on the planet earlier but held back, knowing he was no match for them.
Though he gave chase, he couldn’t match Ye Liuyun’s speed. From a distance, he shouted, "Go ahead! I’ll catch up once I’ve strengthened my power!"
"Got it!" Ye Liuyun replied without hesitation, already focused on his mission. "I’m heading straight for the alien base!"
He even shared his destination with Mo Tianheng to avoid miscommunication, ensuring they could regroup later.
But the moment Mo Tianheng learned of Ye Liuyun’s plan, he stopped dead in his tracks. His eyes turned icy as he watched Ye Liuyun’s figure shrink into the distance. Then, without a word, he pivoted and sped toward a weaker planet instead.
"Now that’s more like it. Revenge is a dish best served cold!" the Ancient Demon chimed in eagerly. "Let’s power up first—then teach him a lesson!"
In the past, Mo Tianheng would have understood Ye Liuyun’s urgency to save lives. But now, all he saw was arrogance—Ye Liuyun’s growing strength breeding contempt.
So he set off to harvest resources, determined to bolster his own power. His goal? To challenge Ye Liuyun at the alien base.
Unaware of these brewing thoughts, Ye Liuyun dismissed the matter entirely.
Meanwhile, on the besieged planet, the last few thousand human warriors were encircled by the alien forces. They had one final chance to break through, to carve an escape for some—but whether they failed to seize it or chose to die defiantly, their fate was sealed. The aliens closed in, leaving no survivors in sight.
