Chapter 2595: Chapter 2595

The captain panicked as well. With martial artists surrounding them on all sides, escape was now impossible.

Just then, Meng Wei’s door suddenly swung open. He stepped out, coming to the captain’s rescue.

"Don’t be fooled by the rebels’ lies," Meng Wei declared, his voice firm. "I, Meng Wei, am no traitor to our people!"

To prove his innocence, he struck a palm toward the sky. The energy released bore no trace of the sinister aura characteristic of the alien race.

"How is this possible?" The two assassins were stunned.

The crowd’s attention shifted instantly. Convinced that Ye Liuyun had been lying, they momentarily set aside the matter of the captain.

Seizing the opportunity, Meng Wei played the victim, his voice dripping with feigned sorrow. "All I’ve ever done was strive for the unity of our tribes, to end the endless conflicts between them. Yet now, I’m slandered by petty schemers..."

But while his act might have fooled others, it couldn’t deceive Ye Liuyun’s golden eyes.

Silent as a shadow, Ye Liuyun closed the distance between them. When he was near enough, he unleashed a streak of white light, aiming straight for Meng Wei’s core—the source of his power.

Unbeknownst to the crowd, Meng Wei had concealed a treasure beneath his robes, one that masked the true nature of his energy. Every ounce of power drawn from his core passed through this artifact, emerging purified. Hidden from sight, it had gone undetected—until now.

Ye Liuyun’s strike was lightning-fast, impossible to evade at such close range. The white light was precisely calibrated—strong enough to melt the artifact but harmless to the core itself.

Caught off guard, Meng Wei instinctively retaliated. But with the artifact destroyed, the energy he unleashed was tainted with the unmistakable, malevolent stench of the alien race.

Ye Liuyun teleported backward using spatial power, dodging part of the attack. The rest slammed into him, sending him flying several yards.

Yet his body, tempered through relentless training, absorbed the blow without severe injury. He immediately repositioned himself, vanishing from Meng Wei’s sight once more.

Meng Wei, however, knew his strike had landed. His eyes darted around, searching for any trace of Ye Liuyun.

It was then that he noticed everyone was staring at him with strange looks in their eyes.

A jolt of panic shot through him—he realized he had already given himself away.

Suddenly, a voice transmission from the guard captain reached him: *"Run. If you stay here, you’re as good as dead!"*

"Damn it!" Meng Wei knew there was no other choice. With a furious curse, he spun around and bolted.

"Stop him! He’s a foreign spy!" The two assassins immediately sprang into action again, chasing after Meng Wei.

The guards around him tried to cover his escape, but other martial artists nearby intercepted them, cutting off any chance of assistance.

Then—**BOOM!**—a deafening impact echoed through the air.

Meng Wei was sent flying backward, crashing to the ground. His arms were shattered, the bones fractured beyond use, leaving them limp and useless. He had struck Ye Liuyun earlier, and now Ye Liuyun had struck back—hard.

"Captain," Ye Liuyun called out, shifting his position as he spoke, "the foreign spy is right in front of you. Why aren’t you making your move?"

Now, everyone—Meng Wei, the guards, the assassins, and all the martial artists—understood. There was a master among them, someone far stronger than Meng Wei.

And possibly more than one. Some had sensed it earlier when Ye Liuyun was sent flying.

"Who are you?" Meng Wei demanded, his voice strained as he scanned the air.

"The hand of justice," Ye Liuyun replied coolly before pressing the captain again. "Captain, are you too afraid to even reveal your aura?"

In an instant, all eyes turned back to the guard captain.

Though unaware of Ye Liuyun’s true identity, the crowd had just witnessed him expose Meng Wei and persistently target the captain. It seemed highly likely the captain was also a traitorous spy for the alien race.

"Surround them! Don’t let them escape!" a martial artist shouted, and the mob quickly encircled the entire guard squad.

"Come help me!" Meng Wei barked at his personal guards—all Dominator-level experts. With their aid, he might break through the encirclement, divert attention, and even save the captain.

But Ye Liuyun immediately thundered, "Anyone who aids alien spies is an enemy of the people!"

"Exactly! Assist a traitor, and your whole family dies with you!" the two rebel assassins chimed in.

Unfamiliar with local customs, Ye Liuyun merely urged the crowd to kill anyone helping the spies. The assassins, however, knew the tribe’s laws all too well.

The warning froze the guards in their tracks. Even those unafraid of death had to consider their families.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun deliberately stirred spatial fluctuations, revealing his position to Meng Wei and the captain. With Meng Wei’s injured arm still unusable and the captain wary of exposing himself, neither could act.

"Kill Meng Wei first!" Ye Liuyun prompted the assassins again.

They lunged at Meng Wei once more. The guards and even the squad members backed away, unwilling to risk association with a confirmed traitor.

Meng Wei tried to escape using spatial techniques, but Ye Liuyun suppressed him effortlessly. Seizing the moment, the assassins struck him down.

Afterward, Ye Liuyun casually pocketed Meng Wei’s Interspatial Ring—payment for his assistance.

Without further ado, he then struck eight corrupted guards, including the captain, with swift palm strikes.

Forced to defend themselves, they instantly revealed their true nature. Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, their disguises crumbled. There was no hiding now.

Ye Liuyun’s strikes weren’t particularly forceful—their defenses could easily withstand his attacks—but they served their purpose by exposing the eight guards.

"These eight are foreign spies!" The surrounding martial artists immediately turned on the disguised guards.

Though these onlookers weren’t as strong as Meng Wei and had hesitated earlier, many were more than capable of handling the guards. With so many joining the fray, the outnumbered guards stood no chance.

"Now’s your chance to escape in the chaos," Ye Liuyun transmitted silently to the two assassins.

"Thank you!" They needed no further prompting, swiftly blending into the crowd.

A few noticed but chose not to raise the alarm. After all, exposing foreign spies counted as a service—no one was eager to hunt them down.

"Seems the ’Resistance’ has a decent reputation," Ye Liuyun mused to himself.

But then he sensed it—two more corrupted sovereigns, tainted by the foreign forces, slipping through the shadows in pursuit of the fleeing pair.

With Meng Wei exposed, they could no longer act openly. Locating Ye Liuyun was impossible, and the guards’ deaths meant little to them.

But hunting down Resistance members in secret? That they could do. Even better—they might track these two straight to the heart of the rebellion.
