Chapter 2579: Chapter 2579

Even the Book Demon was thoroughly impressed by Ye Liuyun’s recent progress. It felt that his current routine of gathering resources, cultivating, and battling everywhere meant he was finally getting serious about his path.

Ye Liuyun himself could sense that both he and those around him had grown significantly stronger in a short span of time.

But this was also the result of the foundation he had laid earlier. Had he not put in so much effort before—building such a formidable army—he wouldn’t be enjoying this period of relative peace now, free to focus on hunting down the alien races without worry.

Though his forces appeared to be merely scouring the land for resources, as long as their deterrence against the Sacred Dynasty and the Prosperous Source Dynasty remained intact, Ye Liuyun had no fear of unrest back home.

After nearly half a year of relentless battles and trials, the three squads under Ye Liuyun’s command had finally cleared out all the alien strongholds in the western region.

Now reunited, they pooled and distributed their spoils.

Ye Liuyun was pleased to see that every returning warrior had grown stronger. Wu Qingcheng and the others, in particular, were already making strides toward the Dominator Realm.

The alien races could only watch in bitter frustration as Ye Liuyun dismantled their outposts one by one. Their prized Three-Eyed Golden-Armored warriors were still far from capable of standing against him.

So now, they waited in uneasy anticipation for Ye Liuyun to march on their stronghold.

Yet, instead, he shifted the battlefield—turning south.

This time, he targeted the alien bases in the southern warzone, encircling their main stronghold and striking from within outward.

He had deliberately avoided heading straight for the southern frontlines, unwilling to let other matters distract him. This period of pure combat and cultivation had accelerated his growth, and he intended to keep it that way.

For now, he held off on allying with the forces resisting the aliens on the frontlines. His plan was to first guide Wu Qingcheng and the others to the Dominator Realm while further strengthening himself. Only then would he forge alliances and turn his sights east—pressing forward until the alien stronghold fell.

Strangely enough, when the aliens realized Ye Liuyun wasn’t coming for them but was instead pushing farther away, they breathed a sigh of relief.

"Let him fight," they muttered. "By the time he reaches the southern frontlines, we’ll have freed up enough forces to deal with him properly!"

The alien chieftain, Xing Yan, adopted a strategy of continued delay. He ordered all southern outposts to bolster their strength while relocating some elite forces to the frontlines to enhance combat effectiveness and push forward more aggressively.

Yet, the pressure on the alien southern front was far from light. The resistance they faced was led by humans, allied with feral beast and demonic clans, forming a united front against the alien invasion.

As a result, the southern forces had no spare strength to divert against Ye Liuyun. Their own troops were stretched thin, and the battles had reached a stalemate.

Now, with the aliens shifting their elite warriors from the outposts to the frontlines, they left behind hollowed-out strongholds—easy pickings for Ye Liuyun, who effortlessly seized resources with little resistance.

However, the allied forces resisting the aliens on the frontlines soon felt the mounting pressure. They captured a few aliens and extracted their memories, uncovering the situation. Immediately, they began deliberating countermeasures.

The leader of this alliance was a man named Cang Jingsong. His ability to unite three disparate races spoke volumes about his diplomatic prowess and vision for unity.

Upon learning the news, he reasoned that if the aliens were willing to sacrifice their outposts, they must fear Ye Liuyun. Moreover, Ye Liuyun’s capability to dismantle alien strongholds one after another suggested formidable strength. After consulting the alliance’s Elder Council, he decided to send envoys to seek an alliance with Ye Liuyun.

The sooner they found him, the sooner they could crush the alien threat.

After thorough discussion, the mission was entrusted to a group of martial warriors. Among them was a renowned human fighter—a woman named Meng Qingyin.

Her reputation within the alliance was stellar. Originally a sacred disciple of an academy, she had not only reached the Dominator Realm in strength but also demonstrated exceptional leadership.

At the onset of the war, she had led academy disciples in repelling alien probes. Since then, she had remained on the frontlines, commanding warriors in battle.

After the alliance was formed, Meng Qingyin gradually assembled her own force—a thousand academy disciples, reinforced by two thousand beasts and a thousand demons, forming an elite combat unit.

In numerous battles, her troops played pivotal roles, executing ambushes and slaying alien commanders, inflicting heavy losses.

As more warriors flocked to join her ranks, she expanded the force to ten thousand strong.

"I won’t go! With more and more powerful beings from the Otherworld appearing, the frontline pressure is mounting. I can’t leave my post!"

Meng Qingyin stood firm in the Alliance Hall after being summoned, outright refusing the order to seek out Ye Liuyun.

She added sharply, "It’s just a negotiation—anyone can handle it. We don’t need outside help to deal with the Otherworld."

Deep down, she understood the real reason they wanted her to go. She was a young woman, and Ye Liuyun was a man. The Alliance clearly hoped to use her as bait to win him over.

The elders believed a young woman would make negotiations smoother. Among their ranks, Meng Qingyin was the obvious choice—not only was she striking in appearance, but her combat experience against the Otherworld made her uniquely suited to engage with Ye Liuyun.

But Meng Qingyin was no sacrificial lamb. She had her own strength and despised such underhanded tactics.

Finally, the Alliance Leader, Cang Jinsong, stepped in. "We’re sending you because younger people communicate more easily. Us old folks tend to sound too rigid. The only reason our Alliance has held out against the Otherworld this long is through cooperation—with every force that resists them. Now that we have a human warrior even the Otherworld fears, we can’t afford to miss this opportunity."

He continued gravely, "This isn’t just some minor task. He doesn’t just wield his own strength—he may know more about the Otherworld than we do. That could be pivotal in our counteroffensive. A mission like this far outweighs killing a few enemies on the battlefield. A man like Ye Liuyun could be more valuable to us than an entire army. We’re sending you precisely because we trust your capabilities."

His words softened Meng Qingyin’s stance slightly.

"If you’re uneasy, I can assign an elder to accompany you," Cang Jinsong added. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"That’s not necessary..." Meng Qingyin had full confidence in her own abilities.

"Good!" Cang Jinsong seized the moment. "Then set out immediately. Take a few guards—you’ll pass through several Otherworld outposts, and danger is inevitable. But don’t bring too many; we don’t want to draw attention."

Meng Qingyin exhaled sharply. "Fine. I’ll make arrangements and leave."

Only when she agreed did the Alliance Leader and the elders finally breathe a sigh of relief.
