Chapter 2499: Chapter 2499

Ye Liuyun once again employed the same tactic as before to capture the alien. According to his memory, the other five aliens were all within Wan Teng’s spatial realm.

"Keep chasing!"

Ye Liuyun led the Falcon Fleet in relentless pursuit. This time, he kept his golden eyes locked on Wan Teng, ensuring the man couldn’t pull any tricks.

Ahead, Wan Teng knew he couldn’t outrun the Falcons. Spotting a small island up ahead, he immediately steered his Swift Swallow toward it.

Ye Liuyun signaled the fleet to halt while keeping his gaze fixed on Wan Teng. He withdrew all the warships into his spatial realm and instead released his strongest fighters, sending them streaking through the void after the Swift Swallow. Only he remained aboard the Falcon, drawing Wan Teng’s attention.

As Wan Teng plunged into the island, Ye Liuyun’s golden eyes watched him release the five alien warriors before darting away again in the Swift Swallow.

"I’ll pursue Wan Teng. The rest of you, capture those five aliens."

After issuing the command, Ye Liuyun immediately gave chase. This time, the distance was short. Wan Teng hadn’t gone far before Ye Liuyun caught up and blasted the Swift Swallow to pieces.

Emerging from the wreckage, Wan Teng made no attempt to flee. Instead, he stood calmly, watching Ye Liuyun with an unreadable expression.

Ye Liuyun stowed the Falcon away and summoned the Nine-Headed Netherdrake and his doppelganger, ready for battle.

"Care to negotiate?" Wan Teng unexpectedly initiated talks.

"What could we possibly have to discuss?" Ye Liuyun countered.

Wan Teng produced an enormous crystal sphere brimming with primordial energy, flashing it briefly before Ye Liuyun before swiftly concealing it again.

"I have a teleportation array," he said, his voice laced with desperation. "If you try anything, I’ll send all my resources away in an instant—you’ll get nothing. But if you let me go, I’ll hand everything over to you..."

Before he could finish, Ye Liuyun summoned the Demon-Suppressing Stele, its oppressive force bearing down on Wan Teng. Simultaneously, both Ye Liuyun and his doppelgänger launched a soul attack, their consciousnesses surging into Wan Teng’s mind.

The Demon-Suppressing Stele had grown stronger after devouring the corpses of countless alien beings, and now it effortlessly siphoned Wan Teng’s power while Ye Liuyun and his doppelgänger assaulted him.

Ye Liuyun had acted swiftly, fearing Wan Teng was stalling to secretly transfer his resources away.

But what he hadn’t anticipated was the thick, malevolent aura that filled Wan Teng’s mind—a swirling mist of alien corruption that obscured his soul’s location. If this sinister energy contaminated their own souls, they would become puppets of the alien race.

Reacting instantly, Ye Liuyun and his doppelgänger enveloped themselves in radiant Buddhist light, using its purifying power to disperse the encroaching darkness. The sacred glow was the bane of such evil, instantly clearing vast swathes of the foul mist.

"Damnable human!"

Wan Teng’s soul was now exposed, howling in fury as it lunged at Ye Liuyun. But his spiritual strength was weak—Ye Liuyun alone was enough to brand him with a slave seal, forcing him into submission.

With Wan Teng subdued, Ye Liuyun began sifting through his memories.

His suspicions were confirmed: Wan Teng, realizing escape was impossible, had been stalling to buy time, already in the process of sending his resources back.

Fortunately, he had only managed to transfer some demonic crystals before Ye Liuyun intervened. The losses were minimal—but had Ye Liuyun hesitated even a moment longer, Wan Teng would have succeeded in sending everything away.

Now that Ye Liuyun had successfully severed the transmission and no longer had to worry about resource loss, he turned his attention to gathering information about the alien invasion of the Holy Land.

However, all he could confirm was that ten aliens had indeed entered the Holy Land, but even Wanteng didn’t know their exact whereabouts. Worse, Wanteng hadn’t kept any communication talismans for them, making it impossible to track them down now. The only useful detail was that these intruders had the ability to construct altars.

After sifting through this information, Ye Liuyun continued combing through Wanteng’s other memories. It turned out that Wanteng, being a Golden Armored alien, was far more knowledgeable than the others.

Not only did he know about the Witches’ Demon Realm, but he was also privy to details about several other headquarters. Moreover, he had a deep understanding of the strength and capabilities of the aliens stationed there.

According to his memories, each headquarters was guarded by an exceptionally powerful alien—one whose strength rivaled even that of a Sword-master-level expert.

Of course, there were also numerous warriors at the third level of the Celestial Realm like Wanteng himself, numbering in the hundreds, depending on how many alien troops were stationed at the time.

Typically, a headquarters housed at least two million alien soldiers. Based on Wanteng’s estimation, the Witches’ Demon Realm currently had a much smaller garrison.

After this recent failure, they would likely coordinate with other headquarters or the alien homeworld to replenish their forces.

*If that’s the case, maybe I can use their altars to infiltrate one of their headquarters and take a look,* Ye Liuyun mused silently.

Once he had extracted all the useful information, Ye Liuyun and his avatar dragged Wanteng’s soul into Ye Liuyun’s consciousness, absorbing its energy as nourishment.

The two other captured aliens met the same fate. There was no point in keeping them alive—better to use them to strengthen his own soul power.

He also confiscated their storage rings. To his delight, inside Wanteng’s ring, he discovered two complete sources of world origin energy—a priceless find that would undoubtedly aid his cultivation.

There were also plenty of demon crystals, perfect for Lei Ming’s use. He kept anything else of value and discarded the useless items, even returning the storage rings to the corpses.

"Leave their physical bodies intact," Ye Liuyun instructed the Demon-Sealing Stele.

After absorbing the energy, Ye Liuyun stored the three alien corpses into a separate Interspatial Ring. He then summoned the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon and headed straight for the previous island.

Out of the five aliens, four had already been slain, leaving only one warrior unaccounted for. Without hesitation, Ye Liuyun released the Demon-Sealing Stele to track it down.

The stele was precise in its search. After a brief sweep, it homed in on a mountainside and smashed downward, forcing the remaining alien out of hiding before crushing it beneath its weight.

This time, the alien couldn’t withstand the stele’s overwhelming pressure and was instantly pinned to the ground. Having absorbed the power of formidable beings like Wan Teng, the Demon-Sealing Stele had finally grown strong enough to subdue alien warriors.

As a reward, Ye Liuyun allowed it to fully consume the alien’s soul and flesh, leaving behind nothing but a withered husk. He then handed over the other four alien corpses as well, saying, "Take in as much as you can. When we storm the aliens’ stronghold, I’ll need your help."

After stripping the corpses of any useful resources from their storage rings, Ye Liuyun gathered the desiccated remains and stored them away.

He then recalled his companions into his spatial world and used the Black Tower of Teleportation to return directly to the Sacred Land Dynasty, unwilling to waste time traveling back on the Falcon.

With the vast resources he had acquired—including the untouched divine crystal veins from before—it was time for him to focus on cultivation. If he wanted to challenge the aliens’ headquarters, his own strength had to come first.

As for hunting down the remaining aliens, he would leave that to the Sacred Land Dynasty’s forces. The territory was too vast for one man to scour alone.
