Chapter 2491: Chapter 2491

Ye Liuyun also shared his plan with Xiao Mu’an, instructing him to withdraw the remaining forces from the base and reorganize for a counterattack while he went to dismantle another alien warship.

The base had already descended into chaos, with combatants tangled in close-quarters fighting, making it impossible to maneuver effectively. It was better to pull the troops out, regroup, and strike back later.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun swiftly made his way to the colossal alien warship. He quietly released the Gold-Devouring Beast, urging it to absorb the ship’s energy as stealthily as possible. But before long, the aliens detected their presence.

Without hesitation, Ye Liuyun unleashed the elite fighters and the Blade Corps lent to him by Black Kill, launching a ruthless assault on the alien soldiers. With no powerful defenders left on the warship and only a skeleton crew guarding it, they were no match for his forces.

Wan Tengcai had no choice but to order a retreat, recalling the alien elites to defend their flagship. However, those elites couldn’t abandon their main forces immediately—they still had to protect the bulk of their army. By the time they returned, their mighty warship had already crumbled into dust.

Ye Liuyun seized the energy core, and Wan Teng barely escaped death at the hands of the Demon Vine and the Sealing Stele, saved only by his own formidable strength and the desperate efforts of his soldiers.

Before the alien reinforcements could return, Ye Liuyun swiftly collected the scattered corpses, recalled his allies into his spatial world, and made a quick getaway.

He immediately sent word to Xiao Mu’an—the alien flagship had been destroyed, leaving them defenseless.

Back at the Holy Land Dynasty’s base, corpses littered the ground. Liu Kui had already fled with the remnants of his army, regrouping outside to prepare for battle.

He soon received word from the Holy Land Dynasty: Ye Liuyun had annihilated the alien warship, and the time for a counterattack had come.

Xiao Mu’an had been waiting with Holy King Xiao Qitian Dynasty Dynasty Dynasty since the alien assault began, ready to make swift decisions once news arrived.

But Liu Kui’s forces were in dire straits—over half of his elite fighters were lost, and he could only muster just over a million soldiers, the rest scattered in disarray.

Fortunately, he still had the Flying Swallows purchased from Ye Liuyun through Xiao Mu’an, as well as the Holy Land Dynasty’s reserves. If not for that, he wouldn’t even have those left.

"Let’s fight to the death!" he roared. "We’re taking the base back!"

Liu Kui immediately deployed the Swift Falcons, gave the soldiers a quick training session, and began pursuing the retreating alien army to launch a counterattack.

The alien forces hadn’t yet established a defensive base, so they had no choice but to grit their teeth and continue fighting against the Sacred Dynasty’s troops.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun had already returned to the Sacred Dynasty’s base.

"Clean up the battlefield! Separate the corpses of the aliens and humans."

Ye Liuyun swiftly summoned Man Feng’s hundred-thousand-strong army and ordered them to clear the battlefield as quickly as possible. They only needed to sort the bodies—armor and weapons could be dealt with later.

Man Feng divided his men into two teams: one to collect alien corpses and the other to gather human remains, storing them in separate spatial rings for the time being.

Over at Liu Kui’s side, the Swift Falcons held a numerical advantage, but less than one-tenth of the originally trained pilots remained—most had been killed in earlier battles.

As a result, he had to hastily recruit new pilots, leading to even more Swift Falcons being shot down.

In terms of manpower, they were now at a disadvantage. The newly cultivated Corpse Demons from the alien side had begun to display their combat prowess, biting and tearing through his soldiers as they fought, steadily whittling down his forces.

Ye Liuyun’s team quickly finished clearing the battlefield, after which he released the Qiong Qi and other formation masters to help set up defensive arrays and repair the teleportation formation.

Noticing Liu Kui’s dire situation, he immediately contacted Xiao Mu’an.

"Liu Kui won’t last much longer. Tell him to change tactics and conserve manpower. I’m repairing the base’s defensive and teleportation formations—he just needs to hold on a little longer."

Ye Liuyun had no choice but to intervene; otherwise, the aliens would soon seize the satellite island.

Upon receiving Ye Liuyun’s warning, the Sacred King promptly agreed and relayed the orders to Liu Kui.

Only after getting the message did Liu Kui finally breathe a small sigh of relief. He slowed the offensive and shifted focus to defense.

However, his opponent Wan Teng was no pushover either. He immediately saw through Liu Kui’s intentions and ordered all the alien forces and corpse demons to press forward, intensifying their assault.

Witnessing this, Ye Liuyun swiftly deployed five thousand Hawk-class warships into the fray. They bombarded a gap between the alien forces and Liu Kui’s troops, creating an opening for Liu Kui to withdraw.

Wan Teng sent elite warriors in an attempt to attack the Hawks, but the warships’ defenses were formidable, and their sheer numbers nearly overwhelmed the martial cultivators, who barely escaped annihilation.

Realizing the futility, Wan Teng finally ordered a retreat and began constructing a base, setting up defensive formations.

By the time Liu Kui pulled back, his army had dwindled to less than five hundred thousand.

The formation masters, including Qiong Qi, quickly erected a defensive barrier and repaired the teleportation array. Without delay, Ye Liuyun recalled them and stealthily advanced toward the alien forces.

Liu Kui had left far too many corpses behind, and Ye Liuyun feared the aliens might use the bones to construct an altar.

Sure enough, Wan Teng was already commanding his soldiers to gather the dead.

"Drive them back!" Ye Liuyun ordered the Hawks to unleash another bombardment. Simultaneously, he dispatched two hundred thousand troops, with war chariots leading the charge, launching a fierce assault.

Wan Teng promptly ordered his forces to fall back, leaving the battlefield for Ye Liuyun to clear.

But when Ye Liuyun tallied the losses afterward, he found that half of the human soldiers had perished—and the alien casualties were beyond reckoning.

After withdrawing, he immediately contacted Xiao Mu’an: "The aliens have gathered enough corpses to build an altar. You must eradicate them as quickly as possible. Otherwise, they’ll use the altar to summon more soldiers and elite warriors. Once that happens, you won’t be able to stop them."

"Can’t you send reinforcements?" Xiao Mu’an shot back.

"Haven’t I done enough for you already?" Ye Liuyun retorted.

He then added, "You can handle the rest yourselves. Launch a counterattack now—wipe them out before they escape."

Ye Liuyun gave them one last instruction, worried they might let a few of those alien creatures slip through and escape to the Holy Land.

He figured that with the alien forces now reduced to just two or three million, and their flying warships nearly wiped out, the Holy Land Dynasty should have no trouble finishing them off. Deploying the reserve army of five million would be more than enough to crush the remnants—his intervention was no longer necessary. It was time to prepare for the next, larger-scale alien invasion.

Without hesitation, he activated the Black Teleportation Tower and returned to the Demon Realm to focus on his cultivation in peace.

But what he didn’t anticipate was that as soon as he left, Wan Teng swiftly distributed most of the corpses his subordinates had collected to ten elite martial artists. He ordered them to slip away from Satellite Island unnoticed and make their way to the Holy Land.

Wan Teng kept only a small portion of the corpses for himself—just enough to construct a modest sacrificial altar. He also sent along 100,000 of the strongest alien soldiers, instructing them to secretly cultivate corpse demons in the Holy Land. Once their numbers grew substantial enough, they were to erect an altar and summon reinforcements from their headquarters.
