Chapter 2410: Chapter 2410

By the time Ye Liuyun and You Ming regrouped and rushed to the scene, Xiao Muyu had nearly taken control of the entire tribe.

"Let’s wait," Ye Liuyun suggested. "This tribe may be weak, but they can still wear down Xiao Muyu’s forces."

He knew the high priest still had the Blood Formation, which could eliminate a significant number of Xiao Muyu’s men, so he wasn’t in favor of immediate action.

But You Ming wanted to strike amidst the chaos. She believed the more disorder there was, the easier it would be to find an opening. Once Xiao Muyu secured the tribe and stabilized the situation, their chances of success would dwindle.

Ye Liuyun conceded that her reasoning wasn’t wrong and agreed to give it a try. After all, when it came to assassination, You Ming was the more seasoned professional.

They quickly divided their roles: Yi Dao would launch the first attack, followed by You Ming in the second wave.

Kuang Sha, Tian Yan, Ye Liuyun, and the three Black Kill assassins would serve as support, covering their retreat.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun summoned his doppelgänger and Phantom Hand, instructing them to stay hidden and assist from the shadows.

Moving toward their target in broad daylight required exceptional stealth, inching closer to Xiao Muyu bit by bit.

At first, everything went smoothly. You Ming and the others had gotten dangerously close, yet neither Xiao Muyu nor the elite fighters around him showed any sign of awareness.

The soldiers were still slaughtering tribesmen at the front, having breached deep into the settlement. Hidden within the tribe were numerous martial artists lying in ambush, ready to strike at the invading forces.

But something felt off to Ye Liuyun. The tribesmen his doppelgänger had encountered earlier never resorted to ambush tactics—they would charge head-on the moment they spotted enemy soldiers.

Acting on instinct, he unleashed a soul attack on a nearby tribesman—only to discover the man had already been controlled by one of Xiao Muyu’s subordinates.

"Fall back, now!" Ye Liuyun urgently warned the others. "These tribesmen are all under Xiao Muyu’s control!"

It hadn’t occurred to him that Xiao Muyu would turn the very tribesmen into a defense against their ambush.

But by then, Youming and Yidao were already surrounded by the native warriors.

Their hearts skipped a beat as they immediately tried to retreat.

"Ha! Think you can run now? Too late!" Xiao Muyu turned around at that moment, his cold gaze locking onto their position.

Ye Liuyun and the others swiftly attacked the nearby natives, but the elite fighters beside Xiao Muyu surged forward, encircling them completely.

"Fall back! Don’t worry about us!" Youming realized escape was impossible and shouted at Ye Liuyun’s group to retreat while they still could—every life saved mattered.

Ye Liuyun, Kuangsha, and Tianyan knew that staying any longer would only lead to total annihilation. Without hesitation, they turned and fled.

"Stop them!" Ye Liuyun immediately ordered the three captive assassins he had brought to intercept the pursuing elites, buying them precious time.

Meanwhile, he, Kuangsha, and Tianyan sprinted toward the dense forest in the distance.

Hiding at the very rear, the doppelganger and Phantom Hands held their breath, pressing themselves motionless against the wall.

**Boom! Boom! Boom!**

Several deafening explosions erupted as Xiao Muyu’s elites struck, instantly obliterating the three assassins Ye Liuyun had left behind. Youming and Yidao were also severely wounded, collapsing to the ground, unable to fight any longer.

"Don’t chase them! We might walk into another trap!" Xiao Muyu immediately called back the martial artists who were about to pursue Ye Liuyun, halting their advance.

"Capture these two first. I’ll deal with them later!" With that command, Xiao Muyu led his forces to continue wiping out the remaining natives.

Once Ye Liuyun, Kuangsha, and Tianyan reached the forest and confirmed no one was following, he ordered the other two to stay hidden and wait.

"I’ll go back for Youming and Yidao. You two—stay here and don’t throw your lives away."

After speaking, Ye Liuyun turned back, donning his invisibility cloak as he stealthily approached Xiao Muyu.

Xiao Muyu, at this moment, was too preoccupied to deal with the assassins. The massacre of the indigenous people was nearing its end, and he was now dangerously close to the altar.

More and more of the natives had been captured, their resistance all but crushed. Any warriors who dared charge forward met the same fate—swift execution.

You Ming and Yi Dao had been knocked unconscious, held roughly by two powerful captors. Even Ye Liuyun’s doppelgänger hesitated to act, fearing reckless intervention might worsen the situation.

When Ye Liuyun arrived, he found the predicament thornier than expected.

*"We’ll make our move once they reach the altar,"* he decided. Preparing to unleash the White Light, he first stowed his Phantom Hands into his spatial realm, then followed Xiao Muyu’s group unseen.

Xiao Muyu, meanwhile, had learned from the subjugated natives that their sacred relic was an invaluable cultivation resource. Driven by greed, he pressed forward with his forces toward the altar.

By the time they fought their way to the base of the altar, the remaining guards rushed out in a desperate last stand—only to be slaughtered by the soldiers. The guard captain, Da Chuan, was captured and forcibly bound by a master-servant contract.

Without bothering to extract information through soul-searching, Xiao Muyu impatiently ordered Da Chuan to activate the altar and release the stone pedestal.

In his arrogance, he dismissed the notion that these primitive tribes could have laid any formidable traps or formations.

Confidently, he led his men up the altar, intent on seizing the relic.

*"The real show is about to begin!"* Ye Liuyun murmured, his doppelgänger inching closer to You Ming.

The moment Da Chuan initiated the altar’s mechanism, the High Priest’s prearranged Bloodslaughter Array silently activated.

Xiao Muyu and his forces had slaughtered so many natives that the ground was already drenched in blood. None of them paid any attention to the crimson stains beneath their feet.

Moreover, the High Priest’s array was ingeniously concealed—drawn entirely in blood, defying all conventional wisdom of formation crafting. Even the keenest of Xiao Muyu’s elite warriors failed to detect its presence.

It wasn’t until the formation activated that they realized the Bloodslaughter Array far exceeded their expectations. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

The blood energy connected with the power beneath the altar, spreading instantly. Then, countless blood-forged warriors emerged, launching a relentless assault on them.

"Huh? Why is it empty?" Xiao Muyu’s face twisted in frustration as he saw the altar was completely vacant. Once again, he felt deceived.

But now, his immediate priority was surviving the Bloodslaughter Array.

The experts around him swiftly moved to shield him from the onslaught.

Outside the formation, Ye Liuyun and his doppelganger sprang into action.

The two experts holding Youming and Yidao, along with a handful of soldiers, had stayed away from the altar and were now cut off by the array’s barrier.

Without hesitation, Ye Liuyun and his doppelganger unleashed two streaks of white light, instantly killing the two captors. Then, with a spatial shift, they transported the corpses—along with Youming and Yidao—into an isolated pocket dimension.

Next, Ye Liuyun released the seven recently captured experts and summoned beasts like Phantom Hand to slaughter the remaining soldiers.

These few soldiers, who had once exuded dominance while hunting the natives, now appeared utterly powerless against Ye Liuyun’s forces.

Their depleted energy reserves left them defenseless, and they were swiftly wiped out.

Ye Liuyun wasted no time—he collected all the bodies and his allies, then withdrew without a trace.

Strangely, not a single native from the surrounding area stepped forward to aid the fallen soldiers.
