Chapter 2401: Chapter 2401 Complete Victory
Ye Liuyun and the others only headed toward the cluster of buildings outside the dense forest after they had eaten and drunk their fill.
The members of this group had also become more familiar with each other, making it easier for them to chat about more things.
Yi Dao even compared his blade intent with Ye Liuyun’s sword intent and was completely defeated.
It was only when they were about to leave the dense forest that the group gradually quieted down.
Once they exited the dense forest, Ye Liuyun fully unleashed both his Golden Phantom Eyes and Divine Sense to examine the cluster of buildings.
"The people who were lying in ambush here earlier are no longer around." Ye Liuyun informed the group.
After that, he extended his Divine Sense as much as possible, trying to locate where those people had gone.
This cluster of buildings resembled a city, with one particularly tall and grand structure that looked like a palace.
“This place is designed to mimic a city, helping assassins get familiar with urban assassination environments. But it also makes it easier for them to hide.” Serena said to Ye Liuyun. “Can you find them?”
After scanning the area, Ye Liuyun indeed didn’t find anything.
"I need to get closer. The stone walls block the line of sight far more effectively than trees." Ye Liuyun said.
"Then let’s spread out a bit. Clairvoyance will scout ahead!" Serena immediately made the decision.
"I’ll take the lead!" Ye Liuyun volunteered, moving to the front of the group to scout ahead, once again taking the Tundra Bow into his hands.
"Let’s go!" Serena agreed as well, leading the group to follow behind Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun walked very slowly, using his Golden Phantom Eyes to carefully scan the surroundings.
Suddenly, he spotted an assassin’s Divine Soul at a street corner through his Golden Phantom Eyes. But there was no one visible to the naked eye.
"Concealing artifact!" He immediately concluded.
Without showing any sign, he quietly approached. He then suddenly raised his hand and fired three arrows in quick succession.
This sudden move startled the people behind him and they had no idea what he was shooting at.
But after a loud explosion, they finally saw an assassin appeared with a gaping hole in his chest.
Ye Liuyun used Hyper Hop to teleport the assassin in front of him, then tore off the pierced Invisible Cloak, finally revealing the assassin’s true form.
"He actually spotted that!" Everyone was deeply impressed by Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun tossed the corpse and the Invisible Cloak to Serena. “You handle this, I’ll keep scouting ahead!”
With that, he continued moving forward, holding his bow in hand.
Serena put away both the Interspatial Ring and the Invisible Cloak, then used a separate Interspatial Ring to store the assassin’s body for Ye Liuyun.
At that moment, Ye Liuyun came to a stop in front of a secluded courtyard.
Sheathing his bow and arrows, Ye Liuyun switched to his Demon Slayer blade and made a gesture to surround a room. Once the others were in position, Yi Dao charged in with a slash.
With a thunderous "boom", Ye Liuyun’s strike split the entire room in two. A battered assassin scrambled out from the divided halves, only to be swiftly struck down again by Yi Dao’s blade.
The martial practitioner blocked with his sword, but at that moment Serena thrust her blade forward, piercing straight through the assassin’s neck.
At that moment, Ye Liuyun suddenly swung backward, forcing a dark figure that was lunging at him to reveal its form as it attacked.
Ye Liuyun’s Golden Phantom Eyes flashed as a Golden Crow flame surged forward, engulfing the assassin head-on. He immediately followed up with a powerful palm strike, aiming directly at the attacker.
The assassin, already shaken from being forced from disguise by Ye Liuyun’s strike, became even more panicked when engulfed by the Golden Crow holy flame. His vision was blurred up. When Ye Liuyun’s powerful palm struck him, he coughed up blood and collapsed, utterly defeated.
Immediately, Ye Liuyun switched his Demon Slayer blade back to the Tundra Bow and fired an arrow toward a building.
"Madshark, over there!" Ye Liuyun called out to Madshark.
Madshark immediately understood and rushed toward the direction where the arrow had been shot.
Ye Liuyun’s arrow blasted a huge hole in the house and two assassins were thrown out from inside. Both wielded short swords, but Madshark swung his long axe to hold them at bay.
Then Serena, Clairvoyance and Yi Dao all moved in to surround the assassins. Realizing they were outmatched, the two quickly surrendered.
With that, the two assassins and the injured one had their lives spared and quickly retreated
“This is so awesome!” Madshark couldn’t stop praising Ye Liuyun’s skills.
Serena quickly tidied up the battlefield, while Ye Liuyun continued scouting ahead, leading the group all the way to the palace.
He used his Golden Phantom Eyes to take a look and decided not to let everyone enter.
“There’s a formation set up inside, with a group hiding within. We’ll deal with them last!”
Ye Liuyun didn’t let the group enter. Instead, he turned around and left to search for the other teams.
Next, Ye Liuyun and his team discovered another group of assassins inside a shop within the city and engaged in a fierce battle.
By a lake outside the city, they encountered an ambush. Ye Liuyun saw through the martial practitioners hidden in the water. As soon as they emerged, they were swiftly eliminated by the team’s combined efforts.
Another group of assassins was hiding in a cave on a mountain outside the city, but their scouts were detected by Ye Liuyun’s Golden Phantom Eyes.
After Ye Liuyun and his team dealt with the scouts, he used the Golden Crow holy flames to burn the cave, forcing the remaining assassins out.
In the end, they returned to the Grand Hall. With Ye Liuyun’s Golden Phantom Eyes, they dismantled the formations one by one. Most of the formations were forcefully broken through and Ye Liuyun didn’t ask Qiong Qi for help.
Otherwise, if these people came to rely on him for setting up or breaking formations, it could put the others in danger in a critical moment when Qiong Qi and other formation masters weren’t around.
After Ye Liuyun dismantled the formations, he entered the Grand Hall. Without saying a word, he fired five arrows with each aimed precisely at the hiding spots of the five assassins.
This forced all the assassins out.
They originally intended to challenge Ye Liuyun’s group, so they sent their weakest formation master to deal with him. However, that person was injured by Ye Liuyun with just a single slash and a single palm strike.
In the end, they didn’t dare to fight anymore and simply admitted defeat and surrendered.
Everyone who surrendered didn’t do so for free. They all had to hand over some resources as a price for having their lives spared.
So this training session turned out to be quite rewarding for Ye Liuyun and his group.
Before they returned, Serena handled the distribution and gave the majority of the resources to Ye Liuyun.
“Everyone has contributed their shares. This is too much for me!” Ye Liuyun said, feeling a bit embarrassed to take so much.
“You contributed the most, so naturally you get the most. That’s the rule in our group so just take it!” Serena handed directly to Ye Liuyun without giving him a chance to refuse.
“All right then! When we get back, I’ll treat everyone to barbecue. There will be plenty of food and drinks for all!” Ye Liuyun said as he reluctantly accepted it. After all, since he took the largest share, he felt he had to show some gesture in return.
“Haha, great! This time I’m going to eat to my heart’s content!” Madshark chimed in, joining the excitement.
Seeing how considerate and thoughtful Ye Liuyun was, the others were all very pleased with him as well.
The group returned together, and the training instructors along with the other assassins were all waiting for them to come out.
“Congratulations! You are the first team to completely eliminate all other groups without a single casualty or injury.”
Everyone began to see Ye Liuyun in a new light. They had all witnessed his performance during the battles and hadn’t expected his combat strength to be on par with, if not stronger than, their own.
As a result, many teams began thinking about recruiting him. Before long, someone had already extended an olive branch, hoping to collaborate with him in the next round.
