Chapter 2366: Chapter 2366 A Chase in the Secret Realm

Ye Liuyun stashed both corpses into his spatial realm to feed the Demon, pocketed their Interspatial rings, and got rid of their Sound Transmission Talisman.

When it was done, he continued the journey alongside Songstress with the two newly subdued guards.

The Sound Transmission Talisman in Mu Yuantang’s hand revealed that Ye Liuyun was moving once again, while the other two signals remained still. It was clear what had happened.

A flick of unease began to creep in as he whispered, "Looks like I shouldn’t underestimate this brother-sister duo." The thought of Ye Liuyun slipping away gnawed at him. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

He wasted no time and led a hundred soldiers on a chase, storming towards Ye Liuyun.

The remaining hundred soldiers were ordered to stick to the original plan. They had to wait for another day before advancing deeper into the secret realm.

Ye Liuyun and his group moved swiftly. His formidable Divine Soul and Golden Phantom Eyes allowed him to bypass most dangers with ease.

There were no man-made traps or formations, so Ye Liuyun had little to no trouble dealing with the feral beasts.

On the other hand, Mu Yuantang and his troops were quick on their feet. No beast would have dared to attack them because of their enormous numbers.

It didn’t take long for Ye Liuyun’s Divine sense to pick up their approach.

"Already losing patience? I expected more restraint from him," he mused with a smirk.

After a brief pause, he handed the Sound Transmission Talisman to the two guards. "Run," he ordered. "Full speed ahead. Don’t stop and get as far as you can."

The slave seal bound the guards to Ye Liuyun’s will, and they sprinted as fast as they could for their lives.

Ye Liuyun once again tucked Songstress away into his Spatial realm, draped himself in Concealcape. With it, he ambled forward at a leisurely pace.

He crept silently behind Mu Yuantang and his forces as they sped by, observing their every move.

No matter how many feral beasts the two running guards encountered, they never stopped charging. They miraculously avoided a plethora of threats.

Unfortunately, a swarm of monstrous crocodiles sprang up from the water and devoured them as they crossed the river.

The crocodiles dove back into the water after devouring their meal, waiting underwater for their next meal.

The tracking talisman showed that the target was underwater when Mu Yuantang and his soldiers reached the riverbank. He immediately ordered his troops to fan out in a search.

Yet the moment they dispersed, the lurking crocodiles struck again. Bursting out from different points in the river to ambush the men.

Seizing the opportunity amid the chaos, Ye Liuyun launched a Divine soul attack, taking control of two soldiers.

The troops managed to slay several crocodiles before they focused their attack on the spot where the crocodiles emerged.

"Roar!"

Following the thunderous roar, a massive crocodile surged from the depths and launched an attack on the soldiers.

It had already fed and had no intention of risking another fight until the soldiers had disturbed its serenity, irritating it.

Meanwhile, Mu Yuantang frowned as he looked at the Sound Transmission Talisman tracking in his palm, finally realising he’d been deceived.

After they got rid of the crocodiles, he divided his forces, sending ten men to the path ahead and ten behind to find Ye Liuyun, while he stayed behind with the rest and waited for any sign.

Ye Liuyun, however, chose to shadow the group moving backwards.

Mu Yuantang had secretly instructed his men not to stray beyond the range of his Divine sense. By scattering them, he intended to use them as bait to lure Ye Liuyun into making a move.

If Ye Liuyun struck within his Divine sense detection range, Mu Yuantang would immediately lead his troops to surround him.

But he had no idea that Ye Liuyun could employ Divine soul attacks and imprint slaving slave tactics.

In no time, the ten soldiers that Ye Liuyun had been following were subdued by him.

*What a shame. Killing Mu Yuantang only earns me a hundred points!*

Even when the reward was meagre, Ye Liuyun couldn’t let this chance pass him by.

After patrolling the area without any findings, the soldiers had to give up.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Mu Yuantang once again led his forces forward.

Likely, Ye Liuyun ran ahead since they found no trace of him. He must had sensed their pursuit, as shown by the unmoving location shown by the sound transmission talisman. He was probably speeding ahead to widen the gap of their pursuit.

Meanwhile, the soldiers under Ye Liuyun’s control subtly manoeuvred one of their own to the rear of the group, allowing Ye Liuyun to quietly imprint another slaving seal.

Half a day passed by, and Ye Liuyun had taken advantage of the opportunity to mark five additional soldiers.

Suddenly, Mu Yuantang abruptly called for a halt.

His Divine Sense had detected numerous feral beasts along the way. If Ye Liuyun and the Songstress had truly passed through, those creatures would have attacked them. Hence, they couldn’t possibly have outpaced his full-speed advance.

"D*rn those brats!"

Mu Yuantang cursed under his breath, frustrated by Ye Liuyun’s action to ditch the Sound Transmission Talisman.

"How dare you insult me? Just wait. I’ll have you running in circles!*

With a mischievous grin on his face, Ye Liuyun began plotting to prank Mu Yuantang.

Plus, he wasn’t in a hurry to attack at this point. He had every intention of subduing Mu Yuantang’s soldiers and utilising them for his personal gain.

If this secret realm expedition was Wan Weihou’s idea, inevitable dangers might be present. Having more capable fighters by his side would be a wise precaution.

With that in mind, he swiftly moved ahead of Mu Yuantang and his men, drawing the Tundra Bow. He quietly and carefully aimed it at Mu Yuantang.

The instant the arrows were aimed at him, Mu Yuantang felt threatened. With a swift motion, he raised his armour’s protective shield, causing the arrow to ricochet off with a sharp clang.

"He’s up ahead. After him!"

Mu Yuantang promptly rallied his forces and took chase after he was assured that Ye Liuyun was ahead of them. Then he commanded his troops to spread out and search for Ye Liuyun.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun cruised silently through the terrain, picking off isolated soldiers one by one and imprinting them with slaving seals.

After hours of fruitless searching, Mu Yuantang grew impatient and pressed forward with his troops.

However, Ye Liuyun persisted in following behind them, continuing his subtle manipulations.

Half a day later, Ye Liuyun had gained twenty to thirty troops under his command.

Having Mu Yuantang scout ahead sped up Ye Liuyun’s progress considerably. Strangely, Mu Yuantang showed no interest in the rare treasures hidden in the realm, and Ye Liuyun hadn’t encountered any resources valuable enough to warrant his interest either.

As a result, their journey became an endless cycle of sprints through the wilderness.

The hunt became a lethal game of running in circles. Ye Liuyun would often leap ahead to shoot surprise arrows at Mu Yuantang, making him chase and search desperately.

Mu Yuantang’s anxiety level rose as his attempts to corner his target ended with failure. How on earth could Ye Liuyun be so fast? He frequently paused in bafflement.

Even more unsettling was the fact that whenever Ye Liuyun shot at him, his Divine sense failed to detect the source of the incoming arrow.

He couldn’t help but be suspicious that Ye Liuyun had been deliberately luring him into an endless pursuit.

He chose not to pursue Ye Liuyun when the next arrow was shot at him. On the contrary, he led his troops backwards while pretending to surrender.

A faint smile curled on Ye Liuyun’s lips. He knew well that he wouldn’t surrender that easily.

Refusing to turn back, he continued forward by himself, patiently waiting for Mu Yuantang to pick up the chase.

True enough, after withdrawing a considerable distance and confirming Ye Liuyun had stopped moving, Mu Yuantang rallied his troops and launched another pursuit.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun had to take down a fire wolf with Songstress, swiftly stashing the beast into his Spatial World.

Noticing Mu Yuantang closing in again, he retrieved Songstress into the Spatial world, then covered himself under his Concealcape.
