Chapter 2362: Chapter 2362 To The Last
"Hong Kun, are you trying to violate the rules of the tournament?" Wan Weihou asked coldly.
"I...wouldn’t dare!" Hong Kun wanted to argue, but he knew that in this situation, anything he said would be useless. If he kept pushing, Wan Weihou would be forced to act against him.
"Take your men and leave." Wan Weihou didn’t want to make things harder for him and gave him a way out.
"Understood!"
Without hesitation, Hong Kun withdrew with his group of martial practitioners.
But just before leaving, he sent a voice transmission to Ye Liuyun: "Just you wait!"
"Same to you." Ye Liuyun replied calmly, without the slightest hint of fear.
Songstress returned to Ye Liuyun’s side shortly after.
"That old b*stard threatened you again?" she asked through voice transmission.
Ye Liuyun simply smiled. "Do you think he dare?"
Without delay, he activated the Slaving Seal.Silently, he ordered the assassin he had stationed before entering the arena to tail Hong Kun and keep watch over his movements.
Ye Liuyun had deliberately not stored that assassin in his Spatial World. Instead, he left him outside to blend in with the crowd and keep watch.
After leaving the arena, Hong Kun also stationed men to keep a close eye on Ye Liuyun’s whereabouts.
That day’s tournament came to an end, leaving fifteen participants still standing.
The next round would take place three days later—a round-robin format where every contestant would face the other fourteen. Rankings would be determined based on win-loss records, and the top ten would be selected accordingly.
Among the fourteen remaining participants, five had already faced Songstress and all five had been decisively defeated by her. With such a record, her place in the top ten was already guaranteed. Now, it was only a matter of what rank she would ultimately claim.
"Do you still want to continue?" Ye Liuyun asked, concerned she might get injured in the upcoming matches.
"I think I can take first place." Songstress replied confidently, eager to push herself further.
“Alright then. We’ll return in three days."
"So, where are we going now?" she asked him.
"If we’re going to pull the weeds, we might as well uproot them completely. Let’s give Hong Kun a chance to take his revenge." Ye Liuyun said with a smirk.
Once the crowd dispersed, Ye Liuyun immediately led Songstress out of the city.
He wasn’t concerned about the martial practitioners Hong Kun had stationed to tail him. He was content to let them follow.
Deep in the forest with Songstress, Ye Liuyun began laying a trap. He ordered Devil Vine, Phantom Hand, Xenocide, and Vespera to set up an ambush on Hong Kun in advance.
Just in case, he had Liu Jing arrange a Formation around the area.
As expected, things unfolded just as Ye Liuyun had predicted. Before long, the assassin he had left behind to keep watch reported back: Hong Kun was heading out of the city with every martial practitioner in his manor, including even those at the seventh and eighth realms. In total, over five hundred men.
Hong Kun clearly suspected Ye Liuyun was luring him into a final confrontation. But confident in his numbers, he didn’t care.
Even if Ye Liuyun had a few experts by his side, he believed they wouldn’t stand a chance against his overwhelming force.
Ye Liuyun then issued a new order to his shadow assassin. There was no need to regroup—he was to wait for the right moment and launch a strike directly on Hong Kun’s residence, targeting those who had stayed behind.
With over ten Immortal Realm experts at his command and more than twenty assassins stationed with his clone, Ye Liuyun had more than enough strength to deal with Hong Kun’s remaining forces.
As for the other martial practitioners at the seventh or eighth realm, Ye Liuyun saw this as the perfect opportunity. The Demons and Devil Beasts within his Spatial World hadn’t had real combat in quite some time. This would be a good chance to let them stretch their claws.
He instructed the Demons to prepare for battle. The women in his spatial world overheard this and insisted on joining the fight as well. Ye Liuyun agreed but made sure to assign Lei Ming and the Dragon Lady to protect them.
Only the Songstress was held back. Ye Liuyun made her stay within the Formation, forbidding her from participating in the battle. He was concerned that foreign assassins might take advantage of the chaos and strike her without warning.
Meanwhile, Hong Kun led his force of over five hundred martial practitioners in a grand charge toward Ye Liuyun, fully confident of victory.
"Capture them alive! I want those two b*stards be torn to pieces, limb by limb. I’ll avenge my son with their blood!" Hong Kun commanded his group of martial practitoners.
At the same time, Wan Weihou had also received news of Hong Kun’s movements. After the tournament ended, he had secretly ordered someone to tail the Songstress, fully expecting Hong Kun to seek revenge.
However, he hadn’t anticipated that Hong Kun would go this far. He went all out by mobilizing everything he had and throwing in his entire household strength.
If he tried to intervene now, sending just one or two people clearly wouldn’t be enough. But if he dispatched troops, it would escalate into something much harder to explain to Hong Kun.
"Sigh...Forget it. Let them handle it themselves." Since the siblings had clearly planned to lure Hong Kun out, he would stand back and watch just to see just what they were capable of.
Wan Weihou gave orders to have the situation observed from a distance. He would not interfere in this personal vendetta.
He figured that since Ye Liuyun and Songstress hadn’t run away, they must have a strategy. If they were simply reckless brutes relying on mere strength, then even if they died, it wouldn’t be a loss worth grieving over.
Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun was making his final arrangements. “Devil Vine, your task is to take out Hong Kun first. Under no circumstance can you let him escape. He’s probably wearing defensive armor, so be extra cautious. Once you’ve eliminated him, go assist the others."
"Phantom Hand, Xenocide, Vespera. You three are to secretly guard the women. The Immortal Realm experts will engage their top experts. As for those with lower cultivation, leave them to the Demon."
Ye Liuyun expanded his Divine Sense, sweeping the surrounding area. Aside from Hong Kun’s tailing spies, he detected two other martial practitioners observing from afar.
Uncertain of their motives, he still chose to strike the moment Hong Kun’s main forces approached. He launched a Soul-Crushing Tactic against the two spies, injuring their Divine Souls and forcing them to flee in panic.
Only then did he step forward to meet Hong Kun’s advancing forces.
"You b*stard! I’m going to make you and your sister watch as I skin you both alive!" Hong Kun bellowed, his eyes blazing with fury the moment he saw Ye Liuyun.
Ye Liuyun responded with nothing but a calm smile. He released a squad of Omnipotent Level martial practitioners who appeared at his side.
"You overestimate yourselves. Kill them all!"
Hong Kun sneered, clearly relieved at the seemingly small number of opponents Ye Liuyun brought over. Without hesitation, he ordered his entire force to charge.
But Ye Liuyun wasn’t finished. He then unleashed a horde of Demon.
The Vermilion Bird transformed into a blazing inferno and hurled itself into the crowd. The Megalithic Ape, with three heads and six arms, brandished six divine weapons as it tore through the enemy ranks. Ice Blue fired a barrage of icy arrows that rained down like a storm.
White tiger revealed its true form, leading a pack of white tigers and feral beasts. Their deafening roars shook the heavens as they charged straight into Hong Kun’s forces.
Ye Liuyun only released the women by his side at the very end. Once they were safely out, he himself stepped onto the battlefield.
At that moment, his clone also made a move. He led a group of assassins and launched a surprise attack from the rear of Hong Kun’s forces.
Immediately after, countless Devil Beasts were unleashed, charging straight into the ranks of the martial practitioners.
The clash of blades and cries of war shook the surrounding, but it was the earth-shattering roars of the beasts that truly struck terror.
Neither Hong Kun nor his subordinates had expected that Ye Liuyun carried so many feral beasts with him. They had assumed a numerical advantage, but the moment the clone joined the fray, the tides turned. They were now the ones outmatched.
Regret surged through Hong Kun’s heart. Had he known Ye Liuyun possessed such a terrifying force of feral beasts and Devil Beasts combined, he would have brought far more reinforcements.
The number of Omnipotent Level experts on his side was already insufficient. Many of his elites had been killed in previous skirmishes. There had been no time to recruit more, nor had he sought help from any of the major powers.
Never in his wildest imagination did he suspect that the assassins who had ambushed him before were actually working with Ye Liuyun all along.
