Chapter 2350: Chapter 2350 Internal Disintegration
Ye Liuyun knew that the stewards and managers at the chamber might have Divine Soul contracts, so he refrained from taking direct action. Instead, he first targeted the receptionists.
The receptionists were mostly temporary young women hired by the chamber. They earned mainly through commissions, as the chamber did not restrict their freedom by signing Divine Soul contracts.
Upon controlling these receptionists, Ye Liuyun discovered a shocking secret: one of the female receptionists was having an affair with one of the chamber’s stewards.
"Finally found a breakthrough!" Ye Liuyun thought to himself.
He immediately issued an order to the female receptionist, instructing her to extract information from the steward. Specifically, to find out which of the stewards had signed Divine Soul contracts and what resources the steward controlled within the chamber.
Ye Liuyun quietly made his way back to his residence. There, he ordered Liang Xue to cast Phantom Illusion and assume his appearance, serving as a decoy to draw the attention of the martial practitioners stationed near Cao Qingyun’s estate.
Meanwhile, his clone waited for an opportunity. When a servant from the estate went out to buy supplies, Ye Liuyun intercepted him and took him captive. He then placed the servant into the Spatial World and used Phantom Illusion to disguise himself as the man, allowing him to infiltrate Cao Qingyun’s estate undetected.
Ye Liuyun planned to strike from within and find a weakness.
Soon after, the receptionist returned with the information. It turned out that, aside from the steward, none of the other stewards in the chamber had signed Divine Soul contracts.
The martial practitioners who had Divine Soul contracts had already been called back to Cao Qingyun’s estate, leaving only a few weapon-refining masters and alchemists—none of whom were skilled in combat.
They believed that with the stationed troops nearby, no one would dare attack the chamber.
The steward had originally controlled only half of the chamber’s resources, with the other half in Cao Qingyun’s possession. However, with Cao Qingyun unable to attend to the chamber, he had entrusted all of his resources to the steward.
After receiving this information, Ye Liuyun immediately began to take control of the stewards one by one.
Meanwhile, his clone had gathered more intel: two of the most powerful martial practitioners around Cao Qingyun were hired at a high price from outside to protect him from assassination.
These two experts had only signed an equal contract with Cao Qingyun. As long as Ye Liuyun ensured they caused no harm to Cao Qingyun, he could take control of them without raising suspicion.
However, the Divine Soul of those two experts was rather formidable, so Ye Liuyun’s clone didn’t dare to take unnecessary risks.
Therefore, Ye Liuyun concealed himself and coordinated with the clone. They planned to seize the servant when he went out to purchase goods, hide him inside the Spatial World, and then infiltrate the residence.
Yet, to Ye Liuyun’s surprise, the moment the clone exited the residence, he was tailed by several Stygian assassins.
These assassins were also targeting the servant, hoping to glean internal information about the residence—specifically to see if Ye Liuyun had infiltrated.
"The ones delivering the tokens are here!" the clone rejoiced inwardly and deliberately lured the assassins to a less populated area.
Ye Liuyun acted first, planting the Slaving Seal on the assassins whose Divine Soul power was weaker. Ever since he had fused with the Third Eye of a foreign race, he could easily discern the Divine Soul strength of martial practitioners.
In no time, he had taken control of half of the six assassins.
As for the remaining three with stronger Divine Souls, Ye Liuyun didn’t risk it. He immediately incinerated one with a flash of white light.
The last two tried to flee. One of them was subdued through the combined effort of Ye Liuyun and his clone. The final one was restrained by the three assassins Ye Liuyun had just controlled, allowing him to mark the last with a Slaving Seal.
With this, Ye Liuyun had gained control over five more Stygian members.
Including the ones he had previously subdued, Ye Liuyun now commanded twelve assassins in total. He had also obtained four elite assassin tokens.
At this point, he no longer bothered with the mercenary-grade assassins.
After enslaving them, he sent all of them back to Stygian, instructing them to focus on accumulating Pure Brew.
Then, he followed the clone back and imprinted the Slaving Seal onto the two experts hired by Cao Qingyun. Afterward, the clone brought them out again, as Ye Liuyun now intended to make a move against the merchant guild.
By now, all the stewards in the merchant guild were already under Ye Liuyun’s control. That very day, he instructed one of the alchemist stewards to escort him into the guild’s VIP chamber. Under Ye Liuyun‘s orders, the steward fabricated a story about a lucrative deal to lure the supervisor into the room.
As soon as the supervisor stepped into the VIP chamber, Ye Liuyun unleashed a beam of white light from his Golden Phantom Eyes, instantly killing him. He then stored both the body and the Interspatial Ring within the Spatial World.
After that, Ye Liuyun transformed into the likeness of Cao Qingyun and appeared openly in the merchant guild.
Cao Qingyun quickly sensed that the supervisor had been eliminated and immediately dispatched one of his trusted experts, along with several martial practitioners, to investigate.
The expert leading the group was already under Ye Liuyun’s control. Therefore, Ye Liuyun issued a minor command that was not enough to violate the Divine Soul contract with Cao Qingyun but was sufficient to delay the investigation.
However, by the time they arrived, they discovered that Ye Liuyun, disguised as Cao Qingyun, had already arrived ahead of them.
"The guild ran into trouble, so I came ahead to check things out," Ye Liuyun, disguised as Cao Qingyun, explained calmly.
Seeing that "Cao Qingyun" had arrived before them, they relaxed their guard and fully followed his instructions.
"The guild is compromised. Destroy all your Sound Transmission Talismans immediately. No messages are to be sent out," Ye Liuyun ordered.
Ye Liuyun then instructed them to destroy all the Sound Transmission Talismans.
Under his watchful eye, the martial practitioners had no choice but to comply and destroy their talismans.
Once that was done, Ye Liuyun issued further commands. He instructed the stewards to shut down the guild temporarily and send all guests and staff home. Then, he ordered them to gather all stored resources to be taken away.
Then, he led the entire group of martial practitioners toward Wulai Valley. Along the way, he told them that the supervisor had fled there with the resources.
At the same time, he sent word to Celestia, Griffin, and the other assassins under his control, instructing them to head to Mist Valley as well.
After leaving the city and traveling a short distance, Ye Liuyun erased the Divine Soul contract in the expert’s Ocean of Consciousness, which he had previously branded with the Slaving Seal. He then struck suddenly at the martial practitioners sent by Cao Qingyun, injuring all of them.
At this point, Ye Liuyun changed his appearance, transforming into that of the steward.
"Hahaha, you’ve all been tricked!" Ye Liuyun intentionally said.
He did this to have the martial practitioners report the situation to Cao Qingyun through their Divine Soul contract.
Cao Qingyun quickly learned of the situation.
Although he couldn’t figure out why the steward had not died or how he had betrayed him, he immediately contacted the local garrison.
However, the garrison’s mission was to guard the city and patrol within the city. They would not leave the city to pursue fugitives. Furthermore, this matter was an internal issue of the guild, not within their jurisdiction.
Cao Qingyun felt helpless as he realized the steward controlled all the guild’s resources. He could not afford to lose them. He then sent another expert with most of his powerful warriors to leave the city and pursue Ye Liuyun.
At this point, only three Omnipotent Level experts remained at the estate.
As soon as the martial practitioners from the estate moved out, Ye Liuyun immediately killed the martial practitioners sent by Cao Qingyun, and then stored the others in the Spatial World. He then concealed himself and returned to Cao Qingyun’s estate.
Along the way, he first encountered the assassins and informed them of the enemy’s numbers and strength. Then, he met the martial practitioners who had been sent after him.
However, Ye Liuyun remained hidden and unmoving. Hence, they couldn’t detect his presence and continued heading toward Mist Valley.
Ye Liuyun paid them no mind and let his clone return to Cao Qingyun’s estate.
