Chapter 2345: Chapter 2345 Tycoon Slayer
Ye Liuyun turned to the waitress and asked, "How much for this Pure Brew?"
The waitress gave him a startled look, surprised that he was still standing after drinking it. After a moment, she replied, "One merit point gets you three jugs!"
Ye Liuyun’s eyes widened.
A single merit point was worth a billion divine crystals—yet it could only buy three jugs of this liquor!
Stunned by the exorbitant price, he looked at the drunkard in surpise.
The drunkard chuckled awkwardly and mistook that Ye Liuyun wanted him to pay up. "Hey, don’t look at me! I’ve already spent all my points on the booze!"
Ye Liuyun took a deep breath, realizing the waitress was not joking.
When he thought about the brew’s body-tempering effects. If it truly worked, no price was too high.
Elixirs no longer had much effect on his body tempering. Now that he had finally come across a resource that truly worked, there was no reason he should let this rare opportunity slip through his fingers.
Besides, those around him were also in desperate need of better resources to advance.
"As long as you present your insignia, you can make the purchase directly!" The maid said eagerly with her eyes full of anticipation.
"Don’t listen to her nonsense!" The drunkard suddenly cut in, turning to Ye Liuyun. "You can come once a day and get a whole pot for free. Why waste your points on it?"
But Ye Liuyun felt otherwise. He did not have the luxury of wasting too much time inside the secret realm.
Without another word, he drew out his insignia and handed it to the maid.“Please help me exchange one hundred points of Pure Brew!”
One hundred points!” The drunkard’s mouth dropped wide open as he stared at Ye Liuyun in disbelief.
The others in the room were equally stunned.
At that moment, Ye Liuyun could not help but feel a deep sense of regret. If only he hadn’t exchanged Liu Jing’s insignia earlier. That one poor decision now meant he could have traded far more for Pure Brew than he had.
The maid had originally been irritated by the drunkard’s interruption, but upon hearing Ye Liuyun’s words, she hesitated and nervously asked, “How many points did you say, sir?”
"One hundred," Ye Liuyun confirmed firmly.
“Oh! Please wait!” The maid finally snapped out of her daze, taking Ye Liuyun’s insignia and hurrying off. Before long, she returned, handing back his insignia along with a interspatial ring.
Ye Liuyun first used his Divine Sense to confirm that the insignia was indeed his own, and that one hundred points had been deducted. He then turned his attention to the Interspatial Ring.Inside, three hundred jars of Pure Brew were neatly stored.
"Thanks!"
Ye Liuyun politely nodded, offering a simple word of thanks before he carefully stowed both the insignia and the Interspatial Ring away.
"Impressive!" The drunkard suddenly exclaimed, his voice booming through the room, causing everyone to jump in surprise.
Then, this guy began desperately buttering Ye Liuyun up.
Ye Liuyun merely smiled in response. He gave the drunkard a polite nod, then bid him farewell. With all eyes on him, he rose gracefully and made his way into the private room, where he would meet Scythe to receive his next assignment.
It was only now that Ye Liuyun realized there were places where points could be spent. He needed to hurry and earn more points, pushing himself to level up as quickly as possible. Right now, he was only a level nine Assassin, but once he reached evel eight, the points earned from completing missions would increase significantly.
Scythe hesitated for a moment before speaking to Ye Liuyun. “I’m afraid you won’t be satisfied with the points they offer for the local missions. Would you like to try missions from other regions instead?”
"Sure!" Ye Liuyun was thinking to venture out for a while.
So, Scythe helped Ye Liuyun select two missions that led to Qingyun City. Qingyun City, being the governing city over Lunaris City, naturally had more assassination missions to offer.
Ye Liuyun selected two missions. One to track down and eliminate a member of the Stygian faction, and the other targeting a local merchant family.
The mission to eliminate the merchant family would reward three hundred points, making it a major undertaking. On the other hand, tracking down the Stygian member would only earn thirty points.
Ye Liuyun had tasted the benefits of eliminating Stygian members before. That’s why he intended to use this mission as bait, setting a trap of his own.
Although the Stygian faction didn’t actively purge its own martial practitioners, there were still those within the group who specialized in eliminating traitors. So once someone was branded by Stygian, the organization would send assassins to hunt them down without hesitation.
After receiving the two missions, Ye Liuyun immediately left the inner hall.
Some people were tempted to follow him, but when they recalled Ye Liuyun’s recent accomplishments, including having taken down a Stygian member, they reconsidered. He wasn’t someone easy to deal with, and none of them dared make a move.
Only the drunkard caught up to Ye Liuyun. “Brother Liuyun, where are you staying? Want me to be your guide? Wouldn’t want you getting taken advantage of just because you’re new around here! You can spend points almost everywhere in this place...”
Ye Liuyun was using his Divine Sense to stay alert for anyone tailing him. But he simply smiled and said, “I’m leaving the secret realm. Care to join me, Brother Drunkard?”
“Ah? You’re leaving already? You’re not going to have your daily Pure Brew?” The drunkard asked in confusion.
“I prefer going out to earn points!” Ye Liuyun replied.
The drunkard thought for a moment, reluctant to part with the Pure Brew here. In the end, he had no choice but to let Ye Liuyun go.
“I was hoping to get a couple of drinks out from a rich guy like you but looks like there’s no chance now!” The drunkard said helplessly.
Ye Liuyun hadn’t expected the drunkard to actually say it out loud honestly!
He smiled and threw two flasks of wine directly to the drunkard.
“Here, it’s a gift for you! Like you said, making acquaintances!”
Ye Liuyun thought to himself, with the drunkard’s thick-skinned nature, that could actually be considered a special skill. It might not be a bad idea to try making friends with him after all.
“This...” The drunkard appeared somewhat excited, quickly putting the wine away.
Watching Ye Liuyun’s retreating figure, the drunkard shouted, “Brother, don’t go flaunting your wealth once you’re out there!”
Ye Liuyun smiled and waved his hand, leaving without looking back.
The drunkard stood there, stunned for a moment, before quickly leaving the Exchange Hall. He returned to his place, eager to slowly enjoy the two flasks of Pure Brew.
There was no point in going back for more wine, and he did not have to boast about these two flasks wine he just got.
After Ye Liuyun left, some of the assassins started discussing him, calling him the “Tycoon Slayer.” The next day, when the drunkard returned, he agreed that the nickname suited Ye Liuyun perfectly. He went around bragging about how much of a good friend Ye Liuyun was.
As a result, Ye Liuyun gained another nickname here: “Tycoon Slayer.”
After leaving the Stygian secret realm, Ye Liuyun didn’t hurry his steps, hoping someone would try to follow him. Unfortunately, to his disappointment, no one had tracked him by the time he returned to the city.
He returned to his private residence and waited for two more days, yet no one came to monitor him.
“Seems they resisted the temptation after all!” Ye Liuyun thought, realizing his plan to capture a few Stygian members had fallen through. With no other choice, he left his home and headed for the Conveyor Formation, intending to teleport to Qingyun City.
Upon arriving in Qingyun City, he immediately sent those with identity tokens to Valorcrest.
As for him, he headed straight to the local Qingyun Guild to gather information.
Qingyun City governed more than ten smaller cities, including Lunaris City, so the Qingyun Guild was several times larger in scale than the Prosper Guild in Lunaris City.
As soon as Ye Liuyun entered the guild, he noticed that there were more than twenty managers and stewards combined. This didn’t even account for the fact that the president’s residence was undoubtedly well-guarded by many experts.
