Chapter 2322: Chapter 2322 The Gathering of Armies
After demonstrating the illusion, Ye Liuyun quickly reverted to his original form.
“That technique burns through too much advance energy. I can only maintain it for two or three hours at most. If I suppress my aura and cultivation level, I might be able to last a little longer." he said with a frown.
Lin Wu quickly reassured him, "That’s more than enough. All we need is for you to make a brief appearance. Normally, we don’t release our auras anyway."
With that concern settled, Lin Wu relaxed completely and steered the flying vessel at full speed toward Mistlot Island.
“How fast can this warship actually go?” Ye Liuyun asked. He already knew the warship was fast, but he had no idea just how fast it could truly go.
"Ten times faster than Hyan Mutong’s warship." Lin Wu replied proudly.
"You’re good at Weapon-refining, right? Can you forge something like this flying vessel?" Ye Liuyun glanced at him and asked.
Lin Wu looked a little embarrassed. "I can’t make anything this advanced on my own. At the very least, I’d need to work alongside a weapon-refining master and a Formation expert."
Without hesitation, Ye Liuyun summoned Qiong Qi and the captured Formation master.
"Think they’re up to the task?" he asked.
"We can give it a shot!" Lin Wu replied with a nod.
It was then that Ye Liuyun came to a clear realization. When the strength of opposing forces was evenly matched, it was superior equipment that often tipped the scales toward victory.
However, their current level of technology still lagged significantly behind that of the other party. Unless this gap was bridged, Ye Liuyun knew he stood no chance against them. He wouldn’t even qualify to negotiate with such a power.
Fortunately, the speed of the flying vessel didn’t disappoint. It lived up to its reputation, delivering them to Mislot Island ahead of the three-hundred-thousand-strong army’s departure.
By now, the Mislot Island’s Power of Origin had been almost entirely depleted, having long been siphoned off by the stationed troops. The island was now little more than a temporary military outpost, with no value left to harvest.
At the same time, the three hundred thousand troops were already assembled, fully equipped, and on the verge of setting out.
As Ye Liuyun swept his gaze across the gathered forces, he quickly discerned that their strength was comparable to that of the Galeocerdo Legion. More notably, each of the two divisions had even managed to cultivate a single Omnipotent Level expert. It was an impressive feat.
The Three Races Armies naturally extended a warm welcome to the trio of Omnipotent Level experts. Grand commanders, vice-commanders, and fellow Omnipotent Level expert all gathered in droves, exchanging names and formalities in a flurry of introductions.
Although they had arrived bearing military tokens issued directly, they were not granted direct authority. They were expected only to support the existing leadership, not command it.
Thus, for the moment, they had no opportunity to make a move. Their chance would come only after they boarded the warships.
Ye Liuyun and the other three began by boarding the vessel that lacked an Omnipotent Level expert.
When private quarters were being assigned, Ye Liuyun finally seized his moment. He released his clone, and together, they quickly subdued the ship’s grand commander. The vice-commander and several ranking officers followed shortly thereafter.
His clone assumed the identity of the grand commander, while Qiong Qi, Mo Shaowen, Liu Yang, and the others disguised themselves as guards. With their cover intact, they approached the other commanders, claiming urgent matters required their presence. Finally, they seized control of another Omnipotent Level expert and his officers.
But when they reached the final warship, trouble arose. The Omnipotent Level expert aboard had grown suspicious. Refusing to leave his commander’s side, he personally led a team of guards and remained on constant alert.
Left with no alternative, Ye Liuyun’s clone struck preemptively. A flash of blinding white light erased the wary expert in an instant. At the same time, he subdued the grand commander and branded him with a Slaving Seal.
Just as the guards were about to retaliate, the Grand Commander stepped forward and confirmed Ye Liuyun’s claim. He declared that the Omnipotent Level expert was a traitor. Only then did the chaos gradually subside.
Though this unexpected twist caused a slight stir, it did not derail their plans.
Seizing the opportunity, they used the incident as a pretext to declare a full investigation for spies within the ranks. The fleet’s departure was postponed, and the soldiers were ordered to disembark and set up camp again. Under the guise of interrogation, they systematically placed Slaving Seals on every commanding officer.
They then proceeded to subdue the Formation masters, weapon-refining masters, and Alchemists. They ensured that all key talents were brought under control.
Over the course of nearly half a month, Ye Liuyun and his team methodically tightened their grip on the entire 300,000-strong army. In the end, every last soldier had signed a loyalty pact.
In this way, Ye Liuyun claimed another ready-made force of 300,000 troops, and his personal guard of Omnipotent Level martial practitioner had grown to three.
But now, he knew it was time to stop. The Sanctuary had already lost half a million troops. It was impossible for them not to begin investigating. If he pressed any further, reinforcements and even more formidable experts would surely be dispatched.
And once his identity was exposed, both Outpost Island and Moyana Island would be in grave danger.
So, Ye Liuyun extracted the remaining Power of Origin from Mistlot Island and gave it to Ye Ling for fusion. Then, he absorbed the 300,000 soldiers and their Omnipotent Level leaders into his Spatial World. Using the Black Tower’s teleportation, he transported them back to the battlefield of the foreign races on Outpost Island and concealed them there.
Then Ye Liuyun made his way back to Star Island. First he transported the 200,000-strong armies under Hyan Mutong and Sui Fenghu to the battlefield of the foreign races on Outpost Island. Only after ensuring their safe relocation did he return once more to claim Star Island itself.
Although those islands had vanished, their coordinates remained fixed. Ye Liuyun decided to lay low for now, knowing that he could always return later using the Black Tower as a portal. He planned to make place his base to launch future expeditions toward the Sanctuary.
After returning to Outpost Island, Ye Liuyun retreated to the royal palace within the God Realm and kept a low profile, quietly awaiting the full integration of Star Island into his Spatial World.
Once the fusion was complete, he immediately transferred all fifty thousand troops and the three Immortal Realm experts into the Spatial World to avoid any potential exposure.
Ye Liuyun’s instincts proved accurate. Having just lost another 300,000 soldiers, Tie Mu was forced to report the matter to the Royal Management of the Sanctuary.
The royal authorities were baffled. They could not fathom which power possessed the capability to eliminate half a million of their troops without leaving a trace.
In response, they dispatched numerous experts aboard flying vessels to investigate the surroundings of Mistlot Island and the Sirius Realm. Yet, Mist Lotus Island had already collapsed due to its depleted Power of Origin, and the Sirius Realm had completely vanished without a trace.
Expanding their search yielded nothing. There were no clues and no sign of any large-scale warships.
Even after two to three months of relentless investigation, the only new finding was that Star Island had disappeared as well.
As a result, many within the Royal Management concluded that an Omnipotent Level expert must have been involved in the annihilation.
Some speculated it had been a passing Omnipotent Level beast, while others suspected interference from the foreign races.
Consequently, the Royal Management ordered their dispatched experts to press further ahead. They reached Moyana Island and Outpost Island to conduct a thorough inspection. However, the reports that came back confirmed that both islands remained completely undisturbed—even the foreign races had been recently repelled.
"They got rid of the foreign race?"
The news sent back to the Royal Management was met with disbelief.
"Yes, they connected two islands, formed an alliance, and supported each other to drive the foreign race out," the investigating martial practitioners replied.
The one greeting them was Ye Liuyun, the leader of the alliance.
Ye Liuyun explained to them that he had used a thousand-person warship to travel to Moyana Island, where he connected with the island’s Formation. They supported each other, and defeated the foreign race.
At this time, the backup team trained by Yu Xiaofeng, along with the martial practitioners from both sides, had indeed gained the strength to battle the foreign race.
Even Li Yuanlang, Yao Guangyao, Li Xianying, Zhao Hu, Lei Ming, Qiong Qi, and others had broken through to the Omnipotent Level.
