Chapter 2306: Chapter 2306 Gathering Recources

Tong Xin and Qiong Qi had been working hard to create and craft numerous war equipments for the soldiers.

They had also studied the weapons, armor, and elixirs from the Sanctuary Planet, discovering that their alchemy and forging techniques were somewhat superior to those of the God Realm.

Despite using common materials, their products were of higher quality than what Qiong Qi and his colleagues had produced. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Apart from the forging methods provided by the Book Demon, Ye Liuyun and his companions found that their Weapon-refining techniques and alchemy fell short of the Sanctuary Planet.

Ye Liuyun decided to send a portion of these weapons and elixirs back to the God Realm via the Conveyor Disc, hoping that the Weapon-refining masters and alchemists could study them and perhaps find ways to improve..

The remaining fifty thousand Sanctuary Knights had already requested reinforcement to their planet. They received word that a hundred thousand troops were sent, but it would take two months for them to arrive.

Meanwhile, they concentrated on preserving their strength as they waited for the arrival of their reinforcement.

They had noticed Ye Liuyun sending out several teams but hesitated to act, fearing that it might be a trap. They dared not attack Ye Liuyun’s base nor pursue the teams he had dispatched.

Additionally, they were at a physical disadvantage against the Devil Beastmen, making them reluctant to engage in direct combat.

They thought about annihilating the surrendered soldiers and rescuing Hyan Mutong. However, they were wary of Hyan Mutong’s prowess in battle tactics. He could easily exterminate thirty to forty thousand of their fifty thousand army. It was a casualty deemed too high to risk.

Attacking the locals was also out of the question, as they feared Ye Liuyun might seize the opportunity to strike them while they were distracted.

The locals were worried about the same issue. Although they perceived this as an ideal opportunity for a counterattack, they were concerned that Ye Liuyun might intervene.

Zheng Huan and his troops were intimidated by Ye Liuyun’s formidable army. In their eyes, Ye Liuyun’s forces were stronger than the Sanctuary Knights.

After gathering more martial practitioners from various regions, they finally sent Zheng Huan to negotiate with Ye Liuyun.

Along with the same twenty-odd people who had accompanied him previously, Zheng Huan arrived at Ye Liuyun’s base.

They were warmly welcomed by Ye Liuyun, who even organised a meeting for Mo Tianheng, Yuan Hao, Zhao Hu, and others.

At first, Zheng Huan was concerned that Ye Liuyun might hold a grudge. They weren’t kind to Ye Liuyun after he rescued them the last time they met. They haven’t even thanked him for his rescue.

Hence, upon their arrival, they expressed their gratitude and presented twenty top-grade Spirit Crystal mineral veins as a token of appreciation.

Ye Liuyun didn’t refuse and readily accepted them.

During the fellowship, everyone enjoyed their meal and chatted happily. Gradually warming up the atmosphere.

Ye Liuyun shared many of his experiences in the cosmos and the battles they had fought against the foreign races, helping Zheng Huan and the others understand why they had sought alliances.

He even shared some of the information Hyan Mutong had gathered.

Finally, Zheng Huan and his companions were comfortable enough to discuss their perspectives about the invaders with Ye Liuyun.

"In fact, we have experts visiting us from the Sanctuary Planet before. At that time, we were excited about their visit and were welcoming to them. We even learned about alchemy and weapon-refining skills from them."

"On this occasion, however, the Sanctuary Knights did us tremendous damage. They were hell-bent on eradicating us. From that, we understood that their earlier trips had been only reconnaissance operations to gauge our strength."

Confused, Mheng Tuo asked, "If what you say is true, and the foreign forces are pressing in, why would they come here to train instead of directly engaging with the foreign races in your territory? What’s the point of training here?"

Ye Liuyun sighed and replied, "That’s exactly what we’ve been wondering. I guess that they’re trying to conceal their true strength."

"By training here, they suffer minimal losses while gaining access to abundant resources. It’s a highly advantageous strategy for them."

"But a frontal confrontation would expose their weaknesses, giving the foreign race time to plan their next move."

"Whatever the case may be, the commanders aren’t the ones making the decisions. They are merely carrying out orders. But their action has crossed the line!"

"Exactly!" Meng Tuo slapped his thigh, agreeing with Ye Liuyun’s final remark. "Saying that they had crossed the line is an understatement. They are nothing but monsters, committing every atrocity from arson to murder and pillaging!"

"I will never forgive them, regardless of whether it was their decision or not! Their sins will be met with bloodshed!" Mheng Tuo exclaimed in rage.

Ye Liuyun nodded in agreement and asked him directly.

"You’re planning to attack them, aren’t you? That’s why you came to me, to make sure I don’t side with them?"

Zheng Huan admitted it outright and asked, "So, will you aid them?"

"Their dirty tactics are beneath me," Ye Liuyun said while laughing. "I made my stance clear from my actions against them. It’s just that you find it hard to believe me."

"Rest assured, I will never help them. This, I can promise. However, I also don’t recommend that you attack them."

"What do you mean? Are you suggesting we coexist peacefully with them? That’s impossible!" Mheng Tuo frowned as he asked.

"I understand that your ties with them are irreconcilable, and I’m not implying that you should make peace," Ye Liuyun said while waving his hand dismissively. "I simply think you are no match for them"

"Martial skill alone cannot withstand the strength of an army. You would suffer significant casualties if you attacked them, especially when they are in a defensive mode."

"Unless you have a significant numerical advantage, attacking isn’t advisable. Otherwise, you should focus on defense."

Ye Liuyun calmly analyzed the situation, offering them rational advice.

Zheng Huan voiced his concern, "But our cities are scattered all around the places, and all of our experts are concentrated around the City Union."

"We’re worried they might send troops to bypass us and ambush us from the rear."

At this point, Yuan Hao interjected, "They only have fifty thousand troops now. They wouldn’t dare to split their forces. With us holding the line here, if they divide their troops, they would put their base at risk."

"If they split their forces, we can easily take on the dispatched troops!" one of them exclaimed with a gleam of excitement in his eyes.

"But what if they launch a full-scale ambush?" Mheng Tuo asked, his brow furrowed with concern.

Yuan Hao responded with a calm, almost nonchalant tone, "Then you can ambush them en route. At least you won’t have to beach into their city, which would significantly reduce casualties."

"The reason for your previous defeat was that you failed to leverage your home-ground advantage," Ye Liuyun added, injecting further nuance into the conversation. "Whenever you clashed with them, your armies were equal in numbers, thus, you didn’t have the advantage."

"Our soldiers here are generally of a lower cultivation level," Mheng Tuo quickly explained, trying to justify their past failures without outright admitting them.
