Chapter 2251: Chapter 2251 Endless Battles

Stepping into the true battleground of the God Realm had always been Ye Liuyun’s long-awaited dream.

Now, that goal was finally within his grasp. He could finally face the foreign race on a real battlefield and prove his mettle.

As he emerged from the Conveyor Formation, the scene before him felt oddly familiar.

The layout of this base was almost identical to the training grounds he had been, except it was over ten times more spacious. There were no taverns or commercial establishments here, only a single merchant guild affiliated with the Alliance of Merchants, where martial practitioners could directly purchase supplies.

The buildings within the base were individual courtyards, residences for the experts and the commanders. The rest of the area was a vast, open space where martial practitioners rested at leisure.

Before Ye Liuyun departed, he had already sent word to Li Yuanlang and the soldier commander he had previously dispatched.

"Hahaha! You made it, lad!" A booming laugh echoed as Zhao Hu approached from a distance, accompanied by a soldier commander by his side.

"Elder!" Ye Liuyun greeted Zhao Hu with a respectful bow.

"No need for the formality! But your cultivation level..." Zhao Hu hesitated, unsure how to continue as he glanced at Ye Liuyun’s aura. He noticed it was only at the intermediate of the eighth realm.

He wanted to comment that Ye Liuyun’s cultivation was too low, yet didn’t want to dampen his spirits.

Without offering much explanation, Ye Liuyun simply reassured him that his strength was sufficient for now.

"Well, it’s good to be here early to get some practice! Come on, let’s head to our camp," Zhao Hu invited Ye Liuyun to follow.

"What? There’s another camp?" Ye Liuyun asked curiously.

"Ah, it’s a long story. I’ll explain as we walk. Xianying is still out there waiting for us," Zhao Hu replied, seemingly reluctant to speak about it openly. Ye Liuyun then followed him as they left the base.

Just as they were to depart, a young commander, leading a squad of soldiers, stopped Zhao Hu.

"Halt! Zhao Hu, who permitted you to enter the city?" the commander shouted.

"Do I need your approval to enter the city? What gives you the right to act so arrogantly when you’re only a newbie?" Zhao Hu snorted in disdain.

"You..." The young commander’s face was flushed with anger.

"Let’s go!" Zhao Hu said, seemingly ready to lead Ye Liuyun away.

"Stop!" The young man yelled at him again. With a wave of his hand, he ordered his soldiers to surround Ye Liuyun and his companions.

"The Grand Commander has ordered me to intercept Ye Liuyun’s forces..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Ye Liuyun swiftly concealed his golden phantom eyes and discreetly altered his facial characteristics without anyone knowing.

Ye Liuyun concluded that these people were probably targeting him based on Zhao Hu’s demeanour, Li Xianying’s presence outside, and the commander’s antagonistic remarks and manner.

Thus, he altered his appearance to avoid being recognized by the commander.

The commander then continued.

"All passersby are subject to my inspection."

"Bah! You’re nothing but a lackey! How could you, a mere petty officer, command me around? I refuse to let you inspect us." Zhao Hu had no respect for the man, speaking without any regard for his authority.

The commander’s face turned ashen, and he was about to order his men to act when Li Xianying’s voice came from outside the city, "Commander Ma, we’re just here to meet up with one of our disciples. Take a look for yourself. Surely, you won’t make trouble for us just for meeting up, will you?"

Dressed in red, she strode out and appeared at the city gate without crossing over the city gate.

She had noticed that Ye Liuyun had altered his appearance, which prompted her to speak up.

The commander’s eyes showed a tinge of apprehension. After another look at Ye Liuyun, he noticed that the face was not what he was looking for, hence, he did not stop them.

The entire squad focused on Zhao Hu, paying little attention to Ye Liuyun.

The commander warned Zhao Hu, "Don’t let me catch you sneaking into the city again, or you’ll regret it!"

Zhao Hu was about to retort when Li Xianying interrupted, "Alright, let’s get moving. "The boss is waiting for you at the base."

Li Xianying was hinting Zhao Hu not to stir up trouble at this point.

Zhao Hu swallowed his words and led Ye Liuyun and his companion out of the city to meet with Li Xianying.

With a murderous glint in his eyes, the youthful commander shot a vengeful glance at Zhao Hu’s retreating figure.

After they had gone a long distance from the base, Ye Liuyun reverted to his real appearance and asked Li Xianying, "What happened here?"

"What else? Power struggles are everywhere! It’s a common flaw among human martial practitioners. It’s no wonder we keep losing to the foreign races!" Li Xianying sighed.

"That petty brat Ma Tiannan was once one of us, but he betrayed us and sided with Ruan Haotian! If you have the opportunity, take him out for me!" Zhao Hu expressed to Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun nonchalantly nodded in agreement.

After that, Li Xianying told Ye Liuyun that Li Yuanlang had freed some foreign race prisoners during the battle. The foreign race prisoners could have killed our people if they did not.

So, it was only fair that they let them go.

However, Ma Tiannan reported this to the grand commander, accusing them of treason.

Ruan Haotian, the grand commander, had been looking for an excuse to deal with Li Yuanlang and his group. Seizing this opportunity, he expelled them from the base, telling them they needed to atone for their transgressions by annihilating a hundred thousand aliens before they could come back.

Ruan Haotian felt threatened by the formidable strength and high popularity of Li Yuanlang and his companions, which could jeopardise his position as the Grand Commander. However, he dared not confront them without a valid reason and resorted to dirty tricks.

He had dispatched Ma Tiannan on a patrol task, intending to intercept Ye Liuyun upon his arrival. But much to his disappointment, Ye Liuyun managed to slip through his fingers.

"To prevent internal friction and unnecessary confrontation, your master decided not to engage with him," Zhao Hu stated.

"But the losses would be far higher if we let that kind of person lead the army!" Without hesitation, Ye Liuyun expressed his disagreement.

"See, this lad shares my temper and thoughts!" Zhao Hu proudly remarked.

"The hundreds of experts from the Alliance of Goddesses you sent last time are still in their hands. That’s why your master was careful not to confront them."

Ye Liuyun noticed that the Slaving Seal was still visible and intact on those individuals. Coordinating with them to capture Ruan Haotian shouldn’t pose much of a problem.

Thinking this, Ye Liuyun instructed Cao An to temporarily seal off the Conveyor Formation, blocking any entry or exit until he dealt with Ruan Haotian.

He also had Cao An spread the word that he would not be heading to the foreign race battlefield for now to prevent Ruan Haotian from targeting him.

"Who appointed the Grand Commander?" Ye Liuyun then asked of Zhao Hu and Li Xianying.

"He was elected by everyone long ago. He was one of the first to arrive and was naturally chosen to run as the Grand Commander. When we first arrived here, he treated us rather fairly."

"But you’ve provided us a lot of resources recently, and we’ve won a few fights with it. Naturally, it boosted our reputation. That must be the reason he tried to eliminate us now."

"But now, he expelled us out the base, severed our supplies, and seemingly expects us to die out here!" Zhao Hu gave Ye Liuyun an explanation.
