The martial practitioners surrounding Cao Yuntian became agitated and began to complain about Cao Yuntian once they noticed that Ye Liuyun was joined by a fresh group of his returned martial practitioners.
"What’s the hurry? All we’ve got are martial practitioners of the seventh and eighth levels. We can handle them with ease!" Cao Yuntian instructed them to continue to wait.
However, two days later, Zhang Yunpeng returned to the palace with several intermediate Eight Level martial practitioners.
But Zhang Yunpeng and his team needed to recover right away because they had hurried their trip. As a result, Ye Liuyun did not have them stand guard at the palace but instead made arrangements for them to cultivate first.
With Ye Liuyun’s arrangements, Cao Yuntian failed to keep his martial practitioners at bay.

There was nothing Cao Yuntian could do but follow them. Besides, they wouldn’t stay put anyway.
"How much longer must we wait?" Every day, Xuan Yuanling also pushed Ye Liuyun. "Are they being intimidated by the martial practitioners you summoned?"
"No, they won’t! The five ninth-level martial practitioner won’t care about these mere martial practitioners. I’m just applying some pressure on them."
"I believe that if they don’t make a move tonight, they’ll make one tomorrow."
That day, Ye Liuyun observed that their scouting frequency had drastically dropped. Moreover, unlike in the past, when they would return soon after checking in, someone was always watching the perimeter after nightfall.
"Alright, I’ll wait for two more days. If they still don’t make a move, you’ll have to arrange for someone to get me out!" Xuan Yuanling gave Ye Liuyun an ultimatum.
Ye Liuyun was concerned as well. He wouldn’t be able to work freely unless he got rid of them.
He was also concerned that Cao Yuntian might have a backup plan, leaving a lookout outside.

The Formation array of the palace was designed by Wu Kun to defend against the attacks of the ninth-level martial practitioners. If completely activated, it would consume a significant amount of Alora Crystal.
However, Ye Liuyun did not skimp at all. Seeing that they could not escape, he activated all three layers of the Formation.

As the Formation was activated, it swiftly extracted energy from the Alora Crystals, causing the entire space to tremble.
"D*mn it, he set up Formations!" The martial practitioners who charged in to ambush Ye Liuyun were taken aback. Some came to a halt and turned away to flee.
"Keep charging, it’s too late to flee now. Let’s break the Formation with our gathered force!"
Cao Yuntian no longer telephatically passed on the message. He shouted his message out loud.
"Break my Formation? If the Formation I set up was that easy to be broken by you, I, Wu Kun, will bow to you!" At this point, Wu Kun appeared next to Ye Liuyun and sneered at Cao Yuntian.
At this moment, Cao Yuntian was being held up by the grand Formation of the main hall, and behind him was the middle layer’s Formation. Three of the ninth-level martial practitioners were by his side.
One quick martial practitioner managed to escape between the second and third layers of the Formation, but he was still unable to leave the palace’s Formation.
The three-tier Formation forms an energy shield. One layer envelops the other, encasing all of them inside.
Ye Liuyun operates, and Wu Kun directs the Formation’s attack on the martial practitioners.
The martial practitioner encased in the outermost layer was alone and was the first to be wiped out by the Formation. Ye Liuyun used a fire attack and instantly reduced him to ashes.
Ye Liuyun utilised the Power of Ice to deal with Cao Yuntian and others.
Cao Yuntian and his men worked together to defend Ye Liuyun’s attack while at the same time trying to break the Formation.
"The outermost layer of the Formation can be shut down now. Otherwise, it will waste too much energy!"
Ye Liuyun thought for a moment but refused to shut it down. He fears that if Cao Yuntian had any treasure item, he might be able to break a layer of the formation and escape.
"We have to catch all five of them, even if it means wasting a little energy." Ye Liuyun made up his mind.
Thus, the three-layer Formation attacked these martial practitioners together, with even greater power.
Wu Kun created an intricate Formation, one in which the outermost layer could attack the interior without the other Formations obstructing it.

The Power of Ice released by the three-layer Formation was hard enough for them to resist. Now they were even more powerless to attack the array.
At this rate and status, all of them would be frozen in no time.
After assessing the situation and giving it some thought, Cao Kun clenched his teeth and took out a round treasure, aiming it straight towards the Main Formation.
That sphere item he took out produced a tremendously explosive energy that detonated with a loud bang. It temporarily blasted a hole in the Formation’s light shield.
Without hesitation, Cao Yuntian rushed through the opening and hit Ye Liuyun. But the rest of them were unable to respond in time.
By the time they reached the opening, the opening formed by the Formation had closed again!
