Chapter 2103: Chapter 2103 Twice Postponing

When the Fairy Clan heard the news, they began questioning Shui Muhua.

Shui Muhua was perplexed when questioned and asked, "How is it possible?" I have been assisting Ye Liuyun in restoring Bolderia City all these while! All of his troops are here!"

"Then how do you explain what happened to the Murongs? Are you certain that all of Ye Liuyun’s armies were present and none being secretly dispatched?" The Elder of the Fairy Clan interrogated Shui Muhua.

"Ye Liuyun had promised," Shui Muhua said with an irritated tone. "Plus, not a single soldier has been sent out by him since I arrived!"

"You need to verify if Ye Liuyun secretly dispatched his army! Who knows? Maybe he planned everything behind you and acted innocent for you!"

The elder of the Fairy Clan was aware that even if it was proven to be Ye Liuyun’s doing, they couldn’t do anything to stop it.

However, they would then have an explanation to give Cao Yuntian to justify the resources they accepted from him.

They could blame Shui Muhua for not keeping an eye on Ye Liuyun, even if Ye Liuyun was the real culprit.

After putting down the Sound Transmission Talisman, Shui Muhua immediately went to confront Ye Liuyun.

Of course, Ye Liuyun refused to admit it.

"It must be other forces who robbed the Murong family! You witnessed it for yourself. My troops are all here. Not one individual has left." Ye Liuyun even offered to analyze with him who might be the culprit.

Naturally, Shui Muhua did not believe Ye Liuyun and left the city to the Murong clan.

However, the moment he left the city, he ran into Shui Bingyue.

"Fourth Uncle? What a coincidence! Where are you rushing off to?" Shui Bingyue called out to stop Shui Muhua.

Shui Muhua was curious to be meeting her here. "Hm? What brings you here?"

"I was invited by a friend for a visit. After learning that the war was over, I decided to stop by Bolderia City on my way back. I didn’t expect it to be in such a state. Uncle Four, how about you?" Shui Bingyue casually lied to his question.

Without the time to ask in detail, Shui Muhua hurriedly briefed Shui Bingyue on the duties and directions given by the Fairy Clan before he hurried off.

"Uncle Four, if you leave now, won’t you’ll fall into Ye Liuyun’s trap?" Shui Bingyue exaggeratedly told Shui Muhua.

"What do you mean?" Shui Muhua asked in confusion.

Shui Bingyue explained, "As soon as you leave, won’t he be able to discreetly dispatch his troops? Perhaps, it’s truly the bandits attacking the Murong clan or perhaps a small troops he casually sent out, designed to lure you away."

"As long as you leave Ye Liuyun’s side, Ye Liuyun would have a chance to transfer his troops. And wherever he told you he sent them to, that’s where they’ll be. If he claims to send his troops back to the eastern border, are you going to spend two months verifying it at the eastern border?"

"Well...you do make sense. In that case, I should communicate with the Fairy Clan and let them send someone else to investigate!" As Shui Muhua was debating, he was about to use his Sound Transmission Talisman to reach out to the Fairy Clan again.

"Alas, why do you still trust the Fairy Clan? They could have sent someone else to investigate a long time ago, why do you think they insist on you going?" Shui Bingyue asked Shui Muhua.

"Why is that?" Shui Muhua indeed felt perplexed.

"What else could it be? Now that something has happened to the Murong Clan, they are trying to make you the scapegoat! If you ask them, they will accuse you of shirking responsibility."

"If you don’t investigate, they will claim that you are neglectful of your duties. But even if you go, it would be too late and they’ll claim you didn’t supervise Ye Liuyun properly. Either way, it’s your fault!" Shui Bingyue cautioned him.

"What should I do then?" Shui Muhua felt bewildered, unsure about what he could do.

"Here’s what you can do! You continue to keep an eye on Ye Liuyun. Since I’m free now, I’ll help you by going to check on the Murong Clan, problem solved!" Shui Bingyue suggested.

"That would be wonderful!" Shui Muhua agreed repeatedly, feeling grateful and relieved.

Then, Shui Muhua quickly made his way back to Bolderia City.

When he got home, he saw that Ye Liuyun had indeed gathered a team. Seeing him return, Ye Liuyun was surprised and had no choice but to dismiss the team and continue arranging the task of rebuilding Bolderia City.

Shui Muhua felt proud and thought, "I’m lucky to have met Shui Binyue, otherwise, I would’ve been tricked by Ye Liuyun! I must keep a closer eye on him!"

Little did he know, after parting with Shui Muhua, Shui Bingyue instantly returned to her plantation base.

She had completed her task by pinning down Shui Muhua.

It would take her more than ten days to travel to the Murong clan. Even if Shui Muhua himself went after her, he would find no trace.

Shui Muhua stayed by Ye Liuyun’s side in peace, waiting for news from Shui Bingyue.

On the eighth day, Shui Muhua tried to make contact with Shui Bingyue.

He calculated that eight days should be enough for her to reach because he had told Shui Bingyue to expedite her trip.

However, Shui Bingyue replied that her flying vessel had broken down, so she would arrive two days later than originally planned.

Shui Muhua was helpless and had no choice but to wait for another couple of days.

During this period, Ye Tiandao had already exterminated the Murong family. Not only that, he would have sorted out all the resources and even cleaned up the battlefield.

Following Ye Liuyun’s instructions, Ye Tiandao deliberately left bits of resources here and there around the Murong family, attracting random bandits to collect them.

So that once Ye Tiandao and his group withdrew, many martial practitioners would come to destroy the site. Leaving the Fairy Clan with no trace to link it to them.

Ye Tiandao did not return directly to Ye Liuyun but rushed to meet Yu Xiaofeng.

Once his Blade Legion blended into the army, it would be impossible to trace them.

Shui Muhua waited for another two days before asking Shui Bingyue for further information. Shui Bingyue informed him that she had already examined the situation. She reported that the Murong clan was nowhere to be found and there were no traces left behind.

"Perhaps they have fled!" Shui Bingyue offered her helpful speculation, "They aren’t foolish enough to simply wait around for someone to come and exterminate them!"

In response to Shui Bingyue’s investigation, Shui Muhua informed the Fairy Clan that the Murong clan had left their home and had fled.

When the Fairy Clan heard this news, they were relieved. They chose not to enquire further since they believed there was no longer any concern. However, they assigned Shui Muhua the responsibility of continuing to watch Ye Liuyun.

But when Cao Yuntian hurried back to the Fairy Clan with the news of the Murong clan’s annihilation, their peace was broken.

"What is going on? Why does Ye Liuyun’s army keep pushing forward and attacking other cities? The Murong family has mysteriously vanished. You need to find out the truth right now!"

The Fairy Clan could only task Shui Muhua once again to uncover the truth. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

In addition, word reached the Fairy Clan that Klanning City, located in the east, was about to be besieged by Ye Liuyun’s enormous army.

Shui Muhua didn’t know what to say. Indeed, Ye Liuyun was so shrewd that he was unable to keep up!

He immediately set out towards the east but as he left the city, he encountered Guan Shanyue.

When Guan Shanyue displayed his Fairy Clan’s token, Shui Muhua, felt hopeful again and hastily explained the situation.

Guan Shanyue proposed similarly to what Shui Bingyue had said, "If you leave now, wouldn’t Ye Liuyun be without surveillance? You should stay here, I’ll investigate Ye Liuyun’s other troops!"

"Yes!" Shui Muhua accepted promptly and once again returned to Ye Liuyun’s side.

The two delays beniefited Ye Liuyun by buying him more time to obliterate the Murong clan and unite the eastern cities under the rule of the Eastern Dynasty. In addition, his army of two hundred thousand soldiers had almost arrived at Ludarbay City, a city adjacent to Klanning City.
